Pissouri village is connected with all towns and airports by an international standard four-lane motorway, and as such it is at a driving distance of 20 minutes from Pafos and Limassol and 70 minutes from the towns of Larnaka and the capital Nicosia. The site is located within the seaside development area of Pissouri, within the centre of a sandy, 2 km long, bay. The beach and the bay are secluded by tall hills, providing a most dramatic environment, whereas the sea/beach is spotless, a circumstance which won it the Blue Flag award. The site itself occupies a hill, sloping gently towards the seaside and occupying a topography at approximately 55 metres above sea level. Along its western boundary it features a steep slope with protruding rocks, within its centre a hill with a sharp level difference in relation to the remaining area, and a small cave. The development company has approached this development with the greatest care in order not only to protect the natural environment of beauty, but also to enhance it. As such, the rocks will be suitably protected and lit at night, the central hill will be transformed into a natural waterfall site (visible from the beach), while the cave will be converted into a museum for Byzantine icons in the form of a church. All these plans are designed for the enjoyment of the project s residents, as well as for their visitors. The waterfall and the other described plans are subject to the Government s final approval. The wider area of the project is planted with grapevines, and access to the project from the village and the motorway is via extremely attractive access roads leading through the vineyards. Prior to the project s design, an environmental study was prepared by a special environment firm (A.L.A. Planning Partnership) so that the unique environment of the project is preserved. At the same time, an Australian based international landscape architectural office has been employed, which, together with local agriculturalists has prepared a programme/design for planting the project with trees and bushes in harmony with the local environment, aiming to provide maximum privacy for its residents.
