4 We back up yur business 1 Prerequisites Befre using the Ahsay NAS Client Utility (AhsayNCU) t install Ahsay Offsite Backup Server (AhsayOBS) and Ahsay Replicatin Server (AhsayRPS) n the NAS device, please make sure that the fllwing requirements are met: 1. NAS mdels that are in ur supprted list. The NAS device has been cnfigured t meet the minimum requirements f the specific mdel. (Please refer t the Supprted Mdels Sectin). 3. The NAS device is plugged nt the same subnet f the cmputer where AhsayNCU is running n. If yu are nt a netwrk specialist, yu are nt a netwrk specialist, yu are recmmended t use the factry default IP address r enable DHCP n the NAS device. 4. The NAS manufacturer web administratin cnsle is running n default TCP prts (i.e. 80 and 443) and n ther mdules/applicatins n the NAS device are using prt 80 and 443. After installatin, AhsayOBS & AhsayRPS will use prts 80 and 443 fr their web administratin cnsle and the NAS manufacturer web administratin cnsle will be relcated t prts 8080 and The NAS device is cnnected t the internet, this is imprtant because AhsayOBS & AhsayRPS require internet cnnectin t activate its license. 6. 16 We back up yur business 3 Aut Mde This chapter describes hw t install/upgrade/uninstall AhsayOBS & AhsayRPS n yur NAS device via AhsayNCU aut mde. 3.1 Install Guide Dwnlad Install Please dwnlad the crrespnding versin f AhsayNCU yu required frm ur website. 1. Open the wizard: i. (Fr Windws) Duble-click the execute file t pen the installatin wizard. (Fr Linux) Unpack AhsayNCU t a temprary directry and run the installatin wizard. # mkdir /temp/ncu # cd /temp/ncu/ # gunzip bsr-ncu-nix.tar.gz # tar xf bsr-ncu-nix.tar #./bin/run.sh (Fr Mac) Expand the archive and run the installatin wizard. ii. Wait until all files are extracted t the system temprary directry. Please nte that it can take up t 2 minutes t extract all files n slw cmputers. iii. The fllwing settings are available: Hst name f the NAS device Static IP r Dynamic IP It is highly recmmended t use [Dynamic IP] ptin and specify OBSR (withut the qutes) as the hstname if yu have a DHCP server (r Windws Dmain Cntrller) n yur netwrk. This simplifies the steps required fr cnfiguring AhsayOBM and AhsayACB t cnnect t AhsayOBS & AhsayRPS in the future. If yu prefer t use a static IP fr yur NAS device, please supply the crrect [IP address] [Subnet mask] [Gateway] and [DNS] settings t the fields prvided (please drp dwn bth the IP address and the hstname f the NAS device yu have entered n this page n paper). Als, when using [Static IP], please make sure that the IP address f the cmputer running the installatin wizard and the IP address f the NAS device is n the same subnet. 20 We back up yur business ii. Under the [Disk Cnfiguratin] step, the infrmatin f hard disk installed n the NAS device will be displayed autmatically. Fr sme NAS devices, RAID has t be built befre the installed hard disks can be used. In this case, if RAID has never been built, please select yur desired [RAID Level] (RAID5 recmmended) in the [RAID Infrmatin] sectin and press the [Next] buttn t build the RAID file system. The time required fr building RAID varies frm different NAS mdels as well as the RAID level yu have chsen. On sme systems, it can take up t 10 hurs t finish building a 1TB RAID 5 file system cnsisting f 5 drives. Please be patient when building RAID. After the RAID file system has been built, the [Status] field under the [RAID Infrmatin] sectin will be changed t Healthy. Yu can then press the [Next] buttn t cntinue.
