3 Task 1: Prepare the Network Step 1: Cable a network that is similar to the one in the topology diagram. Step 2: Clear any existing configurations on the devices. Step 3: Disable all ports using the shutdown command. Step 4: Re-enable the active user ports on S2 in access mode. Points : of 5 Task 2: Perform Basic Device Configurations Configure the S1, S2, and S3 switches according to the following guidelines: Configure the hostname. Disable DNS lookup. Configure an EXEC mode enable secret which is class. Configure a password for console connection which is cisco. Configure a password for vty connections which is cisco. Set ip-default gateway. Points : of 6 Task 3: Configure and Activate Network Addresses Step 1: Configure the Management VLAN interface on S1, S2, and S3. Configure S1 with the second available ip address, S2 with third available ip address and S3 with the last available ip address. Step 2: Configure the PC1, PC2, and PC3 Ethernet interfaces. Configure all PCs with the last available ip address. Points : of 9 Page 3 of 5

4 Task 4: Configure VTP Step 1: Configure all trunks. Configure S1, S2 and S3 port trunks for all VLANs. Configure S1 port F0/5 to only allow VLANs that associated with it. Step 2: Configure S1 as the VTP server, with domain name cisco and password cisco. Step 3: Configure S2 and S3 as VTP clients, with domain name and password. Points : of 22 Task 5: Configure VLANs and Associate Switch Port Access VLANs Step 1: Configure the VLANs on the VTP server. Configure the VLANs in the table below on the VTP server. Step 3: Configure switch port associated with its VLANs. Points : of 12 Task 6: Configure STP and PortFast Step 1: Configure S1 to be Root Bridge and S3 to be Alternate Root Bridge for Guest and Faculty/Staff VLANs. Configure using spanning-tree vlan vlan-id root command. Step 2: Configure S3 to be Root Bridge and S1 to be Alternate Root Bridge for Students VLAN. Configure using spanning-tree vlan vlan-id priority value command. Use two values and to assign the bridge priority value. All other remaining VLANs will use default priority setting. Page 4 of 5

Configure the hostname. Disable DNS lookup. Configure an EXEC mode enable secret which is class. Configure a password for console connection which is cisco. Configure a password for vty connections which is cisco. Step 2: Configure the physical interface and subinterface on R1. Fa0/0 on R1 used physical interface (VLAN Students) and Fa0/1 used subinterface (VLAN Guest, Faculty/Staff and Management) for inter-vlans communication. Step 3: Verify Inter-VLAN routing. Ping from each host to every other host. Points : of 20 Task 8: Clean Up NOTE: DO NOT PROCEED WITH CLEANUP UNTIL YOUR INSTRUCTOR HAS GRADED YOUR SKILLS-BASED EXAM AND HAS INFORMED YOU THAT YOU MAY BEGIN CLEANUP. Before turning off power to the switch and router, remove the NVRAM configuration file (if saved) with the privileged exec command erase startup-config.
