Rely on sturdy construction and shockresistant features to protect your investment The Samsung Notebook Series 6 has a rugged, anti-shock chassis that encases a hard drive further protected with a cushion of Nanocell high-density padding. Because of these protective features, the Series is rated to withstand up to 500 kg (1,102 lb) of force. The Series 6 600, with its magnesium alloy construction, can withstand up to 1,000 kg (2,204 lb) of force. When inevitable drops or falls occur, hard drive accelerometers detect free falls and instantly move the read and write heads away from the disk, protecting against lost company data. Both models feature a water-tight seal that protects the surface of the notebook, and the ComfortErgo Plus keyboard is resistant to spills. A mylar lining underneath the keyboard channels liquids through drains in the bottom of the notebook, which helps to protect data against minor spills. Increase user productivity with improved input devices and typing features Samsung has improved certain input devices and typing features for easier usability. Enhancements include: Better key cap performance that facilitates more precise typing Increased typing stroke depth that reduces stress to fingers when typing Increased track point and button performance that provides more precise control, reducing the need to move to the touchpad when typing Larger touchpad size and better pointer performance that improve control and accuracy of cursor movement Addition of a button on the touchpad that, when pressed, has a feel similar to pressing keys on a standard desktop keyboard Other easy-to-use features include Fast Start, which turns on the display within seconds of opening the notebook, and the SuperBright LED-backlit, 300 nit, anti-reflective display, which is up to 40 percent brighter than a typical display of 220 nit. In addition, a full docking station solution (AA-RD4NDOC), which is available separately, extends the Microsoft Windows desktop to up to two external monitors. Protect company assets with built-in security features and software The following Samsung Notebook Series 6 advanced security features keep your company s information safe: Preboot authentication A biometric Fingerprint Reader that protects data without requiring passwords A Trusted Platform Module (TPM) that encrypts files and folders With optional anti-theft software, companies can remotely track, control and lock notebooks that have been lost or stolen. In addition, the Series includes Intel vpro technology, which makes it easy to monitor, diagnose and repair even an unresponsive notebook.
