2 English Matters English Matters offers courses for students, families, teachers and professionals, in Ireland, in England and various European countries. Our students individualized treatment and great care we put into each of our activities is one of the most signifi cant characteristics of our organization. 4 Junior Summer School in Ireland Courses in Ireland incorporate a methodology based on the use of English as a communication vehicle, cooperative learning tasks, and interaction with the environment. They also offer a wide selection of visits to places of cultural, historical, archaeological and artistic interest typical of Ireland. Games and interactive activities will enhance the use of English in real communication situations. Cultural visits could include the National History Museum, Natural History Museum, Kilmainham Gaol, Trinity College, the GAA Museum (Gaelic Athletic Association), etc. In addition, full day Saturday excursions could include : Kilkenny City Walking Tour, Athlone and River Cruise, Belvedere House & Gardens, Glendalough & Powerscourt Gardens, Carlingford Lough Historical Tour. 5 Dalkey- Summer School Location Dalkey is a very secure area in the coast of, ideal for young students. Dalkey is very popular among ers because here you can feel the typical kindness of the people of Ireland. It was founded as a Viking settlement and became an important port during the Middle Ages. It has been home to many writers and celebrities including Bono U2, The Edge, Enya, Van Morrison, etc. Age 12 to 17 School The school is located by the sea only a 5 minutes walk to the village centre. This is a unique school with great facilities. The classrooms overlook the spectacular coastline and there are excellent sporting facilities. Homestay accommodation Students stay with carefully selected host families that all live close to the school within 30 minutes walking distance. There will be only one student for each nationality in the homestay. Students live as part of for the duration of their stay. 6 City College Summer School Location, is a modern, vibrant city where students will find themselves surrounded by history, culture, the arts and, most importantly, the people, who will make young students feel welcome from the moment they arrive. Age 14 to 17 School Our Junior Summer School in is located in a secure area of city near 3km from city centre. This large school has an exceptional number of outdoor sports playing fields. The city centre is easily accessed by public train or buses that run very frequently. Homestay accommodation Students stay with carefully selected host families in the same area of the school. Sometimes homestay are at a walking distance or a short way by bus. There will be only one student for each nationality in the homestay. There might several students in the same homestay. Students live as part of for the duration of their stay. Games and interactive activities will enhance the use of English in real communication situations. Cultural visits could include: Tower of London, Gamdem Market, Football Stadium tour, St. Paul Cathedral, Bank of England, Milenium Bridge, Worthing Pier, visit to Brighton, Worthing Fireworks Festival,etc. Full day excursions could include: Bath, Stonehenge & Salisbury; Oxford, Windsor & Eton; London sights, Shops & Museums. 8 Worthing Summer School Location Worthing is a beautiful seaside town on the south coast of England, just 20 minutes from Brighton by train. Worthing offers an excellent environment for young learners to practise and improve their English language skills. The school is located in an area with many interesting places to visit and things to do. Both London and Portsmouth, with all their attractions, are only a little more than an hour away. 9 London Residential Summer School Location London is a fantastic place to study English, full of history and exciting things to do. Visit Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park, go shopping on London s famous Oxford Street, enjoy the culture of its wonderful museums and go and see some of the greatest actors in the world in a play or musical in a West End theatre. Age 13 to 17 School The programme takes place in a College which is a small self-contained campus which is part of the University of London. The entrance is in beautiful Kensington Square, near High Street Kensington and the campus itself is arranged around a lovely garden. It is a unique, private environment in the centre of Kensington.
