2 Marerijk This Children s Fairytale Quiz Tour leads you through Efteling s Fairytale Forest. You will come across marvellous stories and fairytales along the way. Pay close attention to find the answers to the quiz questions. Reading the story in the large book of fairytales at each fairytale depiction might also be helpful. Some of the questions are based on general knowledge. Have fun and good luck! We begin this Fairytale Quiz Tour at the entrance to the Fairytale Forest, the Witches Gate (alongside the Steam Carousel). Walk to Sleeping Beauty s castle, take the gateway to the left and climb the castle steps to the sleeping princess. 1) On what did Sleeping Beauty prick herself to make her sleep for 100 years? If you carry on walking back down below, you will arrive at the Gnome Village, where the toadstools are home to the world s oldest gnomes. 2) What colour is the beard of the gnome behind the door in the hollow tree? 3) How many gnomes can you see in and around the last gnome house that you pass on the right? gnome(s) Keep following the path until you come to the fairytale of The Six Servants. 4) Which of The Six Servants can you see in full size? 3 7) What colour dress is the girl in The Red Shoes wearing? Follow the path past the Troll King. You will see a parrot to your left. But it s not just any parrot. No, this one talks! When you re standing in front of him and his eyes are red, say something in a loud voice. Wait a few seconds... And he will repeat what you said. After your chat with the parrot, walk to Rapunzel s tall tower. 8) How does the sorceress climb up the tower? Continue your tour past The Little Mermaid to The Dragon. Pause there and answer the following question. 9) What comes out of The Dragon s nose when he is angry? Continue along the path until you reach The Wolf and the Seven Kids. The kids are sitting together playing a game. But oh dear! Mother Goat has gone out and danger is lurking! 10) Where does the smallest goat hide when the wolf is at the door? Continue straight ahead and you will arrive at the fairytale of Hansel and Gretel. Watch out! The witch will come outside if you try to open the gate and take some sweets from her gingerbread house! 11) What pet animal lives with the witch? Pay close attention to where they come from Your next stop is at Snow White s castle. 15) Who can you see in the mirror in the castle? A little further along and to your left you can visit the fairytale of Cinderella. 16) Where did Cinderella lose her glass slipper? Take a moment to relax on the Herauten Plein and absorb everything you ve seen and heard. On the square you will see The Magic Clock and the fountain from the fairytale of The Frog Prince. 17) What are the frogs holding up together? Walk through the gateway and follow the signs to the fairytale of The Indian Water Lilies.
