1 Volume 6, Issue 12 June 8, 2016 Nova Southeastern University Sport and Recreation Management Newsletter INTERNSHIPS AND CREDITS: SPT CREDIT HOURS SPT CREDIT HOURS SPT CREDIT HOURS SPT CREDIT HOURS SPORT AND RECREATION MANAGEMENT FACULTY: CONGRATULATIONS TO NSU BASEBALL Many of us we glued to our computers watching the live feed over the last couple weeks as the NSU baseball team won the regional tournament in Tampa and moved on to their first appearance in school history at the College World Series. Although the championship round was a double elimination contest, the Sharks never lost a game. Congratulations to Coach Brown and his staff along with the players. Coach Brown is very supportive of the Sport and Recreation Management program. Six players on this year s team were active participants in planning and producing the 4th Annual Cliff Floyd Charity Bowling Tournament. They are Cameron Churchill, Steven Fleming, Julian Loret de Mola, Antonio Rodriguez, Kevin Suarez and Andres Visbal. The Marlins were also playing during the final game. 7 We presently are searching for several Inside Sales Representatives within our Championship Management Department. This commissioned position primarily sells ticket inventory for PGA TOUR sponsored events with potential to sell larger items (i.e. - Pro-Am, hospitality, etc.) and provides direct support for tournaments to help achieve departmental revenue goals. Inside Sales Representatives participate in a sales development program structured to prepare entry level sales staff for higher level sales positions within our organization. Responsibilities: Identify and sell available ticket inventory by generating leads through a high volume of outbound calls Develop and execute a strategy for targeting and engaging new sales prospects Assist with sales and retention efforts including servicing and upselling existing and new clients and accounts Manage interactions with clients and prospects through use of customer service database including accurately documenting client information and abiding by policies and procedures Professionally communicate to gather all relevant details; communicate with supervisor and provide timely follow up Communicate with marketing, tournament support, community management, product management and account management to promote new campaigns, and offerings Special project and other duties as assigned Qualified candidates will have the following: Associate s degree in Sales, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in related field.
