1 CamScanner Tutorial How to use CamScanner Overview Document List Add Document Manage Documents Search Documents View Document Edit Document Settings Additional Features Overview CamScanner is a must-have application for your Android phone. With CamScanner, your mobile phone is actually a portable scanner, with which all your paper documents, receipts, notes, whiteboard discussions can be archived anywhere and anytime. Our Smart Image cropping and Image enhancement algorithm ensures the scanned images perfectly clear and recognizable. Document List In the main page, the documents will be displayed on screen. You can decide the viewing mode of the files. Viewing modes

2 You can switch between two viewing modes of the existing documents, list view and grid view. When first installed, the default viewing mode is list view. 1. Tap button to switch to grid view. Click to adjust the camera flash mode. Click to take a picture. Click background. to batch shooting and pictures will be processed in the 2. Tap button to switch to list view. Click "Share" and select [CamScanner] (Batch) in Gallery to enter Multi-Selection Mode. After selecting images, click "Next" to import these images to [CamScanner] and them will be processed in the background. Check them in [Document list]. Add Document: Get Image There are two ways to get image in CamScanner. In the Main Page: 1. Tap button to take a picture. 2. Tap button to select an existing image. With the image taken or selected, you will enter the Image Edit view, where you can create a new document following the application instructions.

3 Edit Image When an image is selected or taken, the image edit view will be displayed. To document an Image, take the following steps: 1. Crop and Enhance: The image would be cropped by default. With the border automatically detected by system, you can drag the four vertexes to specify the border to crop with. Select an image enhance mode on the top of the screen. If you want the whole image to be documented, tap the disable crop. button to You can also rotate the image by tapping to turn left or to turn right. Press the button, the image will be automatically trimmed (if necessary) and enhanced. 2. Confirm Edit The result can be previewed in this step. Tap if you are content with the final result, and proceed to the View Document Page. If not, press to return to the previous steps. Manage Documents

4 Manage a single document To make change to a single document, long press the document item you want to deal with(either in list view or in grid view), you can edit the file as the popup menu indicates. 1. Press Open to open the document. 2. Press Rename to rename the document. 3. Press Delete to delete the document. 4. By tapping Upload, you are about to upload the PDF file with popular web storage services (e.g. Google Docs, DropBox). 5. By tapping Share, you can send the document with or other available applications. 6. Click "Set Tag", to set one or more tags for current document. 7. Click "Add shortcuts to Home Screen", to add a shortcuts to the Home Screen for current document. To manage multiple files, tap the button and enter the edit mode. Manage multiple documents Select the documents you intent to change. 1. Tap to delete selected documents. 2. Tap to merge the selected documents. 3. Tap to share selected documents.

5 4. Tap to upload selected documents. 5. Tap to tag selected documents. Search Documents Press the button or the search key to search among documents. To search the document, input the name or note of the document in the search box, the searched results will be shown instantly. The icon to the left of the textbox is the tag selector, when tapped, all tags will popup as a list, which allows you to search among documents with a particular tag. Tap the button All to search all documents. To leave search mode, simply press the textbox. button to the right of the View Document Either of the two operations wil lead to this page: 1. Open a document from the document manager. 2. Add a new page to a document.

6 The title and pages of the current document is visually presented in this view. For batch processing, the unprocessed images will be marked. shows processing. shows pending. In this view, you can: 1. Tap or to add a new page. 2. Tap to view the PDF file generated if there is any application available. 3. Tap to send or upload current document. 4. Tap to enter the Edit Document view. Page Browse To browse a page, tap any page you want to check, the page will be presented in full screen. 1. Tap and to browse other pages of the current document. 2. Tap to upload current image. 3. Tap to send current image.

7 4. Tap to process or rotate current image. 5. Tap or to add notes for current image or check notes for current document. Press return key for going back to the View Document page. Edit Document When the Edit button is pressed in the View Document page, you will enter the Edit Document view. In this view, you can also add page, view PDF and share document as in View Document page. Other operations are also available: 1. Rename: You can rename the document by press the title text box, and enter the new name. 2. Delete page: Tap the button of any page, thus delete this page. 3. Change position: Press the button and drag, thus move the position of the page. After finishing editing, tap to save modifications. Manage Page To manage a particular page in the current document, long press the intended page. On the pop-up menu, you can view, upload, share, delete or re-edit the selected pages.

8 Property Edit Press the menu key in Document View, two options are available as a popup menu indicates. 1. allows you to specify an intended page orientation for the PDF file of the current document. 2. allows you to specify an intended page size for the PDF file of the current document. 3. allows you to set tag for the current document. When leaving Document View, the PDF file will be automatically created. The next time, you can access this document from the main page. Settings When menu key is pressed, several operations can be performed by tapping the popup menu items. Tap to change system settings. Scan Settings Select "Auto crop image", to scan and crop images automatically. Click "Enhance mode", to select a default enhance mode for the images. Click "No enhance", to keep the original images. Click "Low enhance mode", to enhance the images. Click "High enhance mode", to enhance and sharpen the images.

9 Click "Economy mode", to save toner for the images. Click "Gray mode", to gray the images. Tag Manager After selecting Manage Tags, you will enter TagManager page, where you can add new tags, as well as delete or edit existing tags. When creating or editing a tag, enter the title and description in the textboxes. 1. Tap the icon at the top-left part of the screen to choose from the system-provided icons. 2. Tap to select a photo in your gallery. Selected image would serve as the icon for your tag. Please note that you should always specify a title for your tag. Select "Use system camera" to take pictures by system camera, but batch shooting is unavailable. PDF Settings Select Page Size to specify a certain page size for PDF pages you are about to generate. Select Page Size to specify a certain page orientation for PDF pages you are about to generate. Account Settings Select Manage Account to manager different upload accounts. Currently three web storage services are supported, i.e. Google Docs, Box.net and Dropbox. Feedback Click "Feedback", to send the feedback to developer. Click "About", to check the version of [CamScanner]. Others

10 Click "Export", to back up the current documents from [CamScanner] to SD Card. Click "Import", to restore the data from SD Card to [CamScanner]. Click "Update", to check the latest version of [CamScanner]. Additional Features Several additional features are provided When the app is installed: QuickStart There would be a sample document named Quick Start at the first run of this app. Turn to this document when you need a quick look at how CamScanner can be operated. When pressing menu key in the main page: Track Uploading Tap to enter the uploading page. When files are being uploaded on background, you can enter the uploading page to track the upload processes.
