1 MSN-DNP Program Final Defense and Graduation Check list Complete Application for Graduation for the College of Graduate Studies. ( Review the Doctoral Project Final Defense Procedures After the defense, revise document as directed by committee and submit to committee chair for final approval. Revise if needed. Submit final version of DNP project to the Virginia Henderson International Nursing Library's Online Research Repository ( PLEASE SUBMIT THE CONFIRMATION FROM THE ABOVE REPOSITORY. Doctors of Nursing -Online Community DNP scholarly Projects Repository ( (Optional) Once chair approved the revised version, submit pdf file of final copy to DNP program director, chair, and to all committee members and obtain signatures of committee on Final Approval of Doctoral Project form. Submit "MSN-DNP Portfolio" table to the DNP Program Office Complete the Graduate Student Exit Survey (required). The link is term specific and will be included in the student s degree audit. There is no document to turn in, as COGS will verify completion of the survey internally. Submit " End of Program Survey" to the DNP Program Office Check with advisor on IRB status must be active until published according to UT policy Student Name: Student Signature: 6/5/2014
2 Doctoral Project Final Defense Procedures Please use the following pathway as a guideline for successful completion of the doctoral project final defense. Always remember to refer to your specific university s guidelines. 1. Project Chair determines that project is ready for defense 2. DNP student coordiantes Final defense date with committee members. Date is set at least 2 weeks prior to end of term if student is graduating that term. 3. DNP student reserves room and necessary media resources. All final defenses must take place on site at the student's respective university 4. At least 2 weeks prior to Final Defense, the Program DIrectors, Deans and Associate Deans are notified so that defense can be made public. 5. Project Chair conducts final defense review with DNP student. 6. Two forms are necessary to be completed at end of successful defense: Final document signature page and the Final Defense Form. 7. Final defense is scheduled for 2 hour block; Guests are permitted to hear student presentation and remain for a short question and answer period. Guests are then excused for the final part of the defense among student & committee. 8.Signatures are required on DOCTORAL PROJECT FINAL DEFENSE form (UT, WSU) & School of Graduate Studies Signature form (WSU ONLY) 9. DOCTORAL PROJECT FINAL DEFENSE form is placed in student's file and copies distributed to the student and committee members 10. WSU ONLY: Once approved by Project Chair, student submits PDF version of final paper with signed Core Scholar Consent Form UT: Once approved by Project Chair, student submits PDF version of final paper to DNP Program Director. 11. WSU: DNP Program Director submits PDF of final paper with consent form to Dunbar library for posting on Core Scholar webpage. 12. WSU: Final verions of DNP project is public on WSU Core Scholar webpage. UT: Final versions of DNP project needs to be submitted to the Virginia Henderson International Nursing Library's Online Research Repository
