2 Museum of London The Museum of London documents the history of London from prehistoric to modern times. The museum is located near London Wall, close to the Barbican Centre as part of the striking Barbican complex of buildings created in the 1960s and 1970s as an innovative approach to re-development within a bombdamaged area of the City of London.

3 The Museum of London Docklands charts the history of London as a port, beginning 2,000 years ago with the Roman trading post set up on the banks of the Thames and following London's expansion into the biggest port the world had ever known. Once part of the Museum of London, Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA)

4 St. Paul s Cathedral St. Paul s Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral built by Christopher Wren between 1675 and For more than 1400 years the cathedral has stood at the highest point in the city in London. Near there are many cafés and bakeries.

5 There are many different parts of the cathedral to describe. The exterior is made up of The West Front, two Western Towers, Chopter House,and St. Paul s cross. Inside we can see Nelson s Tomb,Wellington s and Sir Christopher s Tombs and the different chapels.

6 Temple Bar Temple Bar was the principal ceremonial entrance to the City of London on its western side from the City of Westminster. It is situated on the historic royal ceremonial route from the Tower of London to the Palace of Westminster, the two chief residences of the mediaeval English monarchs, and from the Palace of Westminster to St Paul's Cathedral.

7 Paternoster Square Paternoster Square is a urban development, owned by the Mitsubishi Estate Co., next to St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London. It is a Corinthian column of Portland stone topped by a gold leaf covered flaming copper urn, which is illuminated by fibre-optic lighting at night. The column was designed by the architects Whitfield Partners and also serves as a ventilation shaft for a service road that runs beneath the square. It is sometimes referred to as the 'pineapple'

8 Tate Modern Tate Modern is a modern art gallery located in London. It is based in the former Bankside Power Station, in the Bankside area of the London Borough of Southwark It is one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary art in the world.

9 The collections in Tate Modern consist of works of international modern and contemporary art dating from 1900 until today. When the gallery opened in 2000, the collections were not displayed in chronological order but were rather arranged thematically into four broad groups each allocated a wing on levels 3 and 5 (now levels 2 and 4): -'History/Memory/Society' -'Nude/Action/Body' -'Landscape/Matter/Environment' -'Still Life/Object/Real Life.

10 Shakespeare s Globe Shakespeare's Globe is the complex housing a reconstruction of the Globe Theatre, an Elizabethan playhouse in the London Borough of Southwark, on the south bank of the River Thames that was originally built in 1599, destroyed by fire in 1613, rebuilt in 1614, and then demolished in It accommodates only 1400 spectators. The modern Globe Theatre reconstruction is an academic approximation based on available evidence of the 1599 and 1614 buildings.

11 Tower Bridge Tower Bridge (built ) is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become an iconic symbol of London. Tower Bridge is one of the five London bridges now owned and maintained by the Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the City of London Corporation. It is the only one of the Trust's bridges not to connect the City of London directly to the Southwark bank, as its northern landfall is in the Tower Hamlets.

12 Tower of London The Tower of London, officially Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London, is a historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. It lies within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, separated from the eastern edge of the square mile of the City of London by the open space known as Tower Hill It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England. The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078, and was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new ruling elite.
