5 1. Introduction The Openstage 60 and 80 models have a large graphical display as well as having a multifunctional navigation key enabling access to the system features menu. Touch sensitive technology is used for ease of use on the individual pre-programmable keys with the addition of 6 illuminated sensor navigation keys. 2. The key module provides 12 additional individual programmable keys. Together with the shift function, it is possible to use 22 keys for speed dials or feature keys.

To select a tab within a function press the relevant key repeatedly until the required tab is displayed. 4 Use the Touchguide to navigate through the applications on your telephone 5 You can customise your telephone by assigning telephone numbers and functions to the programmable sensor keys 6 The Function keys allow you to call up the most frequently used functions during a call 7 Audio keys are also available, allowing you to configure the audio features on your telephone 8 The Touchslider allows you to adjust the current volume e.g ringer volume 9 Incoming calls are visually signalled via the call display 10 The keypad can be used to enter numbers and text

Making Calls Basic Functions The Openstage 60/80 allows you to make calls either off-hook or on-hook using the Speaker key. 4.1 Making a Call Off-Hook Lift handset, enter number (remembering any access code eg. 9 for an outside line) and confirm. Or In the pop-up menu Select and confirm the last number dialled. 4.2 Making a Call On-Hook Press the Speaker key, enter the number on the keypad and confirm. Or In the pop-up menu Select and confirm the last number dialled. 4.3 Microphone On/Off To prevent your caller listening in whilst you are on a call you can mute either the handset or the speaker. To turn the microphone off press the key. The key symbol lights up to confirm the call is muted. To turn the microphone on press the key. The key symbol goes out. 5. Answering Calls When you receive a call to your handset you will be able to distinguish if the call is an External call or an Internal call by the ring tone. An External call will give a double ring tone at your handset; an Internal call will give a single ring tone at your handset. Caller s information will also appear on the graphics display.

10 5.1 Answering a Call with the Handset Lift handset. Raise or lower the volume if necessary Press disconnect key to end the call 5.2 Answering a Call with the Speaker Press the speaker key Speaker mode is now active. Raise or lower the volume if necessary 5.3 Ending the Call Or Or Press disconnect key Press speaker key Select from menu and confirm 5.4 Rejecting a Call An incoming call can be refused. In the pop-up menu: Select and confirm. The caller hears the busy tone. If the caller s number is identified, it will be stored in the Missed Calls list so that they can be called back at a later date. 5.5 Deflecting a Call An incoming call can be deflected to an alternative destination providing Call Deflection is activated within the menu (page xx) In the pop-up menu: Or Select and confirm. If the deflect destination number is programmed (page xx) the call will be deflected immediately.

11 If a destination telephone number has not been programmed, you will be asked in a pop-up menu to enter a destination telephone number; Enter destination number and confirm. The call will be deflected to this number. 6. Holding a Call You can place a current call on hold providing the Hold function has been activated. Whilst on a call select in menu and confirm. To reconnect, select in menu and confirm. 6.1 Hold Ringback Timer This function can be activated to remind you that a call is still being held. You can set the reminder period between 3 to 15 minutes. Press until the tab Menu is activated. Select Configuration and confirm. Select Connected Calls and confirm. Select Hold Rem. Delay and confirm. Enter a value between 3 and 15 and confirm. Select Save & Exit and confirm. NB: Hold cannot be used with a consultation hold or after a second call has been answered 7. Transferring Calls You are able to transfer calls Announced and Un-Announced providing the options Call Transfer and Hangup while Ringing are allowed (see page *****). If you transfer a call Un-Announced to an extension and the call is not answered it will return back to the originating telephone after a pre-set time. If the extension has a Forward set, the call will follow the forwarding. 7.1 Transfer a Call Unannounced Whilst active on a call; Select Blind Transfer in the menu and confirm Key in the required number (after transferring the call successfully, the display returns to the idle mode) Replace the handset.

12 7.2 Transfer a Call Announced Whilst active on a call; Select Consult in the menu and confirm. Caller is now on hold Key in the required number On answering, announce the call and if the 2 nd party accepts the call, select Complete Transfer in the menu and confirm. If the 2 nd party does not accept the call, select Disc & Return in menu and confirm. You are reconnected with the 1 st party. 7.3 Transfer a Call Announced No Answer Select Disconnect in menu and confirm. The 1 st party is still on hold. Select Reconnect in menu and confirm. You are reconnected with the 1 st party. 7.4 Aborting a Consultation Call Select Retrieve Held Call in menu and confirm. The consultation call will be terminated and connection to the 1 st party will be re-established. 8. Call Alternating (Toggle) The call alternating feature enables the user to toggle between two calls (internal/external or Network calls) when conducting a Consultation call. The above calls can be either made or received by the user. With one call established, select Consult in menu and confirm Establish second call Select Alternate in menu and confirm. Use repeatedly to switch between the two parties. To connect the two calls together, select Complete Transfer in menu and confirm. 8.1 Cancelling Call Alternating Whilst connected to the party you wish to disconnect from, select Disc & Return in menu and confirm. You are reconnected with the remaining party. 9. Conference A conference call can be set up between 3 parties.

13 9.1 To create a local conference call Prerequisite: The Conference function has been enabled in the User Settings. With one call established, select Consult in menu and confirm Establish second call Select Conference in menu and confirm A local conference call is now established. To switch to a one-to-one call; Select and confirm the connection you wish to clear down in the menu Select Disconnect in menu and confirm A one-to-one call is then established with the remaining call party. To allow call parties to continue a conference after you exit; Select Exit Conference and confirm Both call parties remain connected to the call and you are now disconnected. To end the conference call; Select End Conference and confirm All connections are now cleared down. 10. Callback A callback request can be set if the required party is busy or does not reply Placing a Callback request Dial the number required. If the other party is busy or does not reply. The screen will show Callback. Select and confirm. When the required number becomes free (on busy) or the extension is next used (on no reply) your phone will ring to advise you. NB: The Callback feature has to be activated by the administrator Answering a Callback When the required number becomes free (on busy) or the extension is next used (on no reply) your telephone will ring and the display will show the caller information along with the Callback icon. The pop-up menu opens:

14 Accepting a Callback Select and confirm to accept the call Rejecting a Callback Select and confirm. The Callback request will be deleted and the caller hears a busy tone. The telephone number and further information of the caller are saved in the Call List for Missed Calls Deflecting a Callback Select and confirm. Enter the number you wish to deflect the callback to and confirm Ignoring a Callback Select and confirm. The Callback will be ignored. The caller will hear the busy tone. 11. Last Number Redial Lift the handset or press the speaker key Select and confirm the last number dialled. 12. Call Lists The Call List logs all dialled, received, missed and forwarded calls in chronological order. Any calls not showing CLI cannot be logged in this list. The following call lists are displayed on individual tabs: Calls Missed Calls Received Calls Forwarded Dialled Numbers 12.1 Missed Call Indication Each time a new entry appears in the Call List, a message appears on the lower section of your display (when in the idle mode) and the Application Key LED is lit in white.

15 This example shows that you missed 2 calls whilst away from your telephone Return a Missed Call Press key until the Missed Calls tab is activcated. Select required entry and confirm. Select Dial in context menu and confirm. The number is now being dialled Accessing Call List Press the activated. key repeatedly until the desired tab (missed/received/forwarded/dialled) is Example: 12.4 Details of an Entry A maximum of 9 calls are stored in the details list for each entry. The following information is available via the Details context menu (see ). Name (if available or transmitted as ID) Number of attempted calls Dial number icon (if available) Dial number Date Time Duration (only in case of Numbers Dialled ) If a caller is stored in the local phonebook (page 29) the details stored here will be displayed Managing Call Lists Each Call List may contain up to 30 entries. If this maximum is exceeded, the oldest entry in the list is deleted.

16 Multiple calls from the same telephone number are only listed once. The number of attempted calls is logged in the Details context menu (see ). For Missed Calls this will also e shown in the list view Sorting Call List Entries Press repeatedly until the desired call list is activated. Select List Options and confirm Select Sort Options and confirm View Call List Details Select an entry. Select Details in context menu and confirm Deleting Entries in a Call List To delete one entry; Press key repeatedly until the desired call list is activated. Select the required entry and confirm. Select Delete in context menu and confirm. The entry is now deleted. To delete all entries; Press key Select List Options and confirm. Select Delete All in context menu and confirm. 13. Call Pickup The system administrator can programme users into call pickup groups. If you belong to a group you will be alerted of calls ringing to other telephones within the group. Members can only be in one pickup group at a time. Calls are signalled by the flashing pickup key. To answer a call within the pickup group, press the Pickup key. 14. Second Call Waiting Whilst busy on a call, you can pick up another incoming call (the Second Call function must be activated (see page xx) You will hear a call waiting signal whilst the second caller will hear ringing. You can either accept or disregard the waiting call. Before accepting a second call you can end the first

17 connection or you can put it on hold and return to the call later Accepting a Waiting Call You are active on a call. A second call is indicated on your display and you will hear a call waiting signal. In the pop-up menu; Select Accept and confirm You are now connected to the second party and the first party is on hold. Select Disc & Return in the context menu of the second call and confirm. The connection with the second call will be disconnected and connection to the first party is re-established Rejecting a Waiting Call In the pop-up menu; Select Reject and confirm. The waiting party receives notification of the refusal and the call information for the first party is redisplayed. The rejected call is stored in the Missed Calls list Deflecting a Waiting Call In the pop-up menu; Select Deflect and confirm. Enter the number and confirm. The second call will be deflected to the defined destination. 15. Call Forwarding This feature enables a user to forward their calls to another destination if unavailable. There are four types of Call Forwarding which can be programmed in the Forward menu; All Calls On no reply On busy Locked Phone Due to it s immediate effect, the All Calls type of forwarding has a higher priority than the no reply or busy types. If Forwarding All Calls is activated, the forwarding icon your telephone is in the idle mode) is shown on the display (when

18 Any forwarded calls will be listed in the Forwarded Calls tab of the Call List 15.1 Programming Call Forwarding You can store up to five destination telephone numbers for Call Forwarding. These destinations can be allocated to the several forwarding settings Saving a destination telephone number Press key. The pop-up menu opens: Select Edit Call Forwarding and confirm. The overview page for Call Forwarding Settings opens. Select Destination and confirm. Select Edit Favourites in context menu and confirm. Select Destination 1 and confirm Enter the telephone number and confirm. Select Save & Exit and confirm. NB: You can also save the Destination Number via the Destination Number option of each particular Call Forwarding mode Allocating a Destination Number to a Call Forward Function Press key. The pop-up menu opens. Select Edit Call Forwarding and confirm. The overview page for Call Forwarding Settings opens. Select Destination Number for desired Call Forwarding mode and confirm. Select Destination Number and confirm. Select Save & Exit and confirm Define Duration for No Reply Forwarding You can define how often the telephone rings before the No Reply forwarding is activated. Press key. The pop-up menu opens. Select Edit Call Forwarding and confirm. The overview page for Call Forwarding Settings opens. Select Duration and confirm. Enter a number between?? and?? and confirm. Select Save & Exit and confirm Activating/Deactivating Call Forwarding A forwarding destination must be programmed (see ) Press key. The pop-up menu opens.

19 Select Edit Call Forwarding and confirm. The overview page for Call Forwarding Settings opens. Select All Calls and confirm. OR Select Busy and confirm. OR Select No Reply and confirm. OR Select Locked Phone and confirm. Select On or Off in context menu and confirm. Select Save & Exit and confirm 15.3 Activate All Calls Forwarding By pressing the key, you are able to activate the call forwarding function for All Calls providing a forwarding destination has been programmed for All Calls (see ) Press key. The pop-up menu opens. Select Accept and confirm. The function key lights up. If the telephone is in idle mode, the Call Forwarding icon with the corresponding telephone number is now shown on the display Deactivate Call Forwarding Press the lit key The pop-up menu opens for several seconds before the key lamp goes out. Call forwarding is now deactivated for all calls. 16. Do Not Disturb Prerequisite: The Do Not Disturb feature must be enabled in User Settings. If Do Not Disturb is activated your telephone will not ring and the caller will hear the busy tone. To activate; Whilst the phone is idle, using the Touchguide, select Do Not Disturb from the menu and confirm

20 17. Station Speed Dialling The system administrator has the ability to store commonly used numbers centrally and each user on the system can have access to these central codes. Two types of Station Speed Calling Lists: 1 digit Station Speed Calling uses a 1 digit code and is available to store 8 numbers which are set up by the system administrator 2 digit Station Speed Calling uses a 2 digit code and is available to store 30 numbers which are set up by the system administrator Each type of list can be available to users as either a Private List or Shared List. Private List is owned by 1 subscriber Shared List is owned by 1 subscriber but can be used by many 17.1 To Use Station Speed Dial List Enter the code associated with the number to be dialled eg. 9 Select Dial and confirm 18. Program Keys The telephone has 8 (Openstage 60) or 9 (Openstage 80) illuminated sensor keys that you can program yourself. You can program these keys as required with Internal and External phone numbers or frequently used functions. The phone number programmed or the name of the function is displayed beside the key. All Program Keys have a second layer which can also be programmed using the Shift key. The Shift Key will allow you to switch between the two layers. If you re-configure this key, you will be unable to switch to the second layer Programming a Program Key Press the required Program Key until the overview page for Program Key programming is opened. The Program Key lights up. Select Normal and confirm. (If programming the second layer, select Shifted ) Select the function (eg. Selected Dialling) in context menu and confirm. If you wish to change the default label, select Label and confirm. Enter required text for label and confirm. Select Setting and confirm (only required for storing telephone number, not functions) Enter telephone number and confirm. Select Save & Exit and confirm Using Program Keys To call a saved number that has been programmed on a Program Key:

21 Press the relevant Program Key until the display shows the message for establishing the connection. The program key lights up Removing a Function/ Number from a Program Key Press the required Program Key until the overview page for Program Key programming is opened. The Program Key lights up. Select Normal and confirm. (If programming the second layer, select Shifted ) Select Clear Definition in context menu and confirm. Select Save & Exit and confirm The number or function has now been removed from the Program key. 19. Programming Abbreviated Dialling Keys You can store a telephone number on every key on the telephone keypad (12 keys) for abbreviated dialling. Press key until the Menu tab is activcated. Select Phone and confirm. Select Abbreviated Dial Numbers and confirm. Select a key (eg. 0-9) and confirm Enter required telephone number and confirm. If this key is already programmed, once you enter the first new digit, the original number is deleted and the new digit is displayed. Select Save & Exit and confirm. 20. Local Phonebook 20.1 Creating a New Contact Press the key Select Options and confirm Select New Contact and confirm Select and confirm the field you want eg. First Name (you do not have to enter data in all fields) Complete and confirm 20.2 Editing a Contact Press the key Select and confirm a contact Select Details in the context menu

22 Select and confirm the field which you wish to edit Complete and confirm 20.3 Selecting a Preferred Phone Number If multiple phone numbers were assigned to a contact, you can select the preferred phone number here that you want to use for calls via the Phonebook. Press the key Select and confirm a phonebook entry Select Details in the context menu Select and confirm Default No Select and confirm the relevant option (eg. Business 2) for the preferred phone number The phone number is now stored 20.4 Deleting a Contact Press the key Select and confirm a Phonebook entry Select Delete in the context menu 20.5 Deleting all Phonebook Entries Press the key Select and confirm Options Select and confirm Delete all in the context menu A confirmation request opens Select and confirm Delete all entries. All entries are now deleted Phonebook Search You can search the phonebook for the initial letters of a specific last name. Press the key Enter the initial letters The quick search input mask opens automatically. Your search is narrowed down by every additional letter entered in the input mask. Select a contact as soon as the name you are searching for appears and confirm with OK. The contact is called. 21. Handset Configuration Press the Key Select User and confirm Enter password (123456) and confirm if necessary

23 21.1 Language Settings Used to set the language for display user prompts 21.2 Country Options Used to set country location 21.3 Display Contrast For Openstage 80, used to adjust the graphic display contrast to your lighting conditions Date and Time Used to set the date format 1 = DD.MM.YY 2 = YY-MM-DD 3 = MM/DD/YY 21.5 Daylight Saving Time This setting lets you specify the time difference that should be applied for daylight saving time Time and Date display format Used to set the date format 1 = DD.MM.YY 2 = YY-MM-DD 21.7 Call Deflection Used to turn the feature on/off If switched to Off the Call deflection option will not appear in the handset menu when calls are ringing 21.8 Call Forwarding Used to set call forwarding on/off When set to off the Call Forward option will not appear in the menu 21.9 Call Duration Used to switch call duration on/off during a call.

24 Call Waiting Used to turn call waiting feature on/off Call Transfer Allows call to be transferred Transfer on Ring Allows call to be transferred before called party answers Conference (Local) Allows or blocks the Local Conference function. When off user has no access to activate a local 3 way conference call Join in Conferences Allows both call parties to continue the call after exiting the conference Dialling Mode Used to choose the options available when dialling 1 = Number 2 = Name & Number Call Display Used to set display for incoming calls 1 = Name 2 = Number 4 = No Display 5 = Name & Number Auto Dial Timer Used to set delay for dialling if on hook dialling is used (seconds) CFNR Timer Used to set the Call Forward No Reply Timer (max 15 seconds) Hold Ringback Timer Used to set the timer before a call will represent when placed on Hold (max 15 seconds)

25 Music on Hold Used to turn music on hold on/off If set to off and another extension places you on hold no music on hold will be heard. The display will show an indication that you have been placed on hold Do Not Disturb Used to turn access to the feature on/off Message Waiting Used to turn on/off Hold Ring Back Used to turn feature on/off If set to off calls placed on hold will not ring back to the extension automatically Conference This feature needs the use of an external media server to be activated Auto Answer Used to turn auto answer on/off Auto Answer Beep Used to set a beep when auto answer is in use Auto Reconnect Used to turn on/off Auto Reconnect Beep Used to set a beep when auto reconnect is in use Idle Display Static Changes the appearance of the idle display 1 = Cycle/Flash 2 = Static

27 Idle Missed Calls Shows missed calls on the display if the telephone is in the idle state. If off missed calls will not be shown on display when phone is idle lamp key will still indicate missed calls.
