1 Application to Laurea Magistrale in Economia e Politica Economica Curriculum in Health Economics & Management (HEM) (Ordinamento D.M Codice Curriculum 980) Admission Requirements To profitably attend the Second Cycle Degree in ECONOMIA E POLITICA ECONOMICA, Curriculum in HEALTH ECONOMICS & MANAGEMENT (HEM) it is necessary to have adequate knowledge of economic theory and quantitative methods. To be admitted it is necessary to hold: 1. An Italian undergraduate degree in one of the following disciplinary areas, or a suitable foreign qualification according to the Italian law: ex D.M. 270: L-33 Scienze economiche L-18 Scienze dell economia e della gestione aziendale L-36 Scienze politiche e delle relazioni internazionali L-41 Statistica L-8 Ingegneria dell informazione L-9 Ingegneria industriale L-30 Scienze e tecnologia fisiche L-31 Scienze e tecnologia informatiche L-35 Scienze matematiche ex. D.M. 509/99: classe 28 (scienze economiche) classe 17 (scienze dell economia e della gestione aziendale) classe 15 (scienze politiche e delle relazioni internazionali) classe 37 (scienze statistiche) classe 9 (ingegneria dell informazione classe 10 (ingegneria industriale) classe 25 (scienze e tecnologie fisiche) classe 26 (scienze e tecnologie informatiche) classe 32 (scienze matematiche) Previous degree system: Laurea in Economia politica, Economia e commercio, Economia aziendale ed equipollenti 2. the following ECTS: 16 ECTS (minimum) in Economics (ambito Economico) 16 ECTS (minimum) in Mathematics/Statistics (ambito Matematico/Statistico) 8 ECTS (minimum) in Business Economics (ambito Economico-Aziendale) 3. For applicants failing to fulfil the requirements as in 1) and/or 2), the Admission Board will evaluate candidates skills and competencies through an accurate examination of their curriculum. 4. To be admitted to Health Economics & Management applicants are required to hold an adequate proficiency of the English language (B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference). This proficiency must be proved by a language certificate or by a self-declaration. 5. Whether candidates do not hold the necessary skills and competencies required to enrol, the Admission Board will not admit them to the assessment of their personal qualification.

2 Assessment of personal qualification 6. In addition to the above mentioned requirements (degree, ECTS and English proficiency), the admission to Health Economics & Management is conditional on the assessment of the personal qualification by the Admission Board according to the following criteria: Academic merit (it refers to the duration and quality of degree course attended, to the final graduation score obtained, as well as to any additional English competence above the minimum level required in point 5): max 70 points; Coherence between the academic curriculum and the learning objectives of the Master in Health Economics & Management: max 20 points; Motivation (quality of the motivation letter and of any eventual presentation letter): max 10 points. 7. Only students who reach a minimum of 60/100 points will be considered as holding a sufficient personal qualification. 8. Candidates who do not hold the requirements as specified in points 1, 2 e 4 but who do reach a minimum of 60/100 in the assessment of the personal qualification will be interviewed by the Admission Board. The interview will aim at ascertaining if candidates hold the necessary requirements to be admitted. 9. Invitation to the interview will be sent by upon completion of the assessment of personal qualification by the Admission Board. Details about scheduling of the interviews (that could possibly be done via Skype) will be provided through the website Application procedure Applications will be evaluated by HEM Admission Board according to the application schedule (see below). At the end of each intake, a final ranking of applicants is provided and students will be able to check their admission on the StudentiOnLine website. EU students and students with an equivalent status (EU assimilated) EU-students are citizens holding any of the nationalities of the Member States. Students with an equivalent status to the EU students (EU-assimilated) are: - Citizens from Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and the Republic of San Marino; - Foreign citizens who hold residence card, residence permit issued for employed or independent work, for family reasons, for political asylum, for humanitarian asylum, for religious reasons; - Foreign citizens who have been legally residing in Italy for at least one year and hold an academic qualification awarded in Italy; YES

3 - Foreign citizens, wherever they are resident, holding the following academic qualifications: final diplomas issued by Italian schools abroad or by foreign or international schools in Italy or abroad, that are subject to bilateral agreements or special norms for the recognition of academic qualifications, and satisfy general entrance conditions, - Political refugees; - Staff of foreign diplomatic offices (Embassies/Consulates) as well as International Organizations based in Italy -accredited either at the Italian Government or at the Holy See- along with their family members (husband / wife and children). - Candidates holding a valid residence permit for study purpose, already enrolled in a degree course at this or another university, provided they have been legally residing in Italy for at least one year. EU students and students with an equivalent status may apply at every scheduled intake (see the schedule above). Non-EU /International students Within the Laurea Magistrale in Economia e Politica Economica, forty (40) positions for Non- EU/International students are available. Non-EU students are foreign citizens from states not belonging to the European Union who are resident abroad at the time of applying for university admission and who are not legally classified as equivalent to Italian/European citizens. Non-EU/International students may apply at the first intake (see the schedule above). Should the available positions not be fully covered after the first intake, the second intake will be opened to Non-EU students too. How to submit the application First Step (necessary only if you don t have a unibo account): 1. Connect to to create your personal User ID and Password by clicking on Se non sei ancora registrato, Registrati ; 2. (It s now possible to switch to English language, if necessary). Register by providing the required information (In case you are a foreign student and you don't have an Italian Tax ID (Codice Fiscale), you can click on International students registration and fill in the form to create your User ID and Password); 3. After your first access you will be asked to change your password. Please remember your ID and Password as they will be always required to access your personal profile. Second Step (User ID and Password required) 1. Connect to by using the username and password (see first step ). 2. (Switch to the English Version, if necessary) Click on the Entrance Exams button. 3. Select Second cycle degree programme and click next. 4. Select "Economia e Politica Economica - curriculum Health Economics and Management (HEM)" and click next. 3. Attach all the required documents in.pdf format; 4. Click the send the application button.

4 NOTES: 1. The application is complete ONLY if students close the online procedure on StudentiOnLine and click on the submit the application button. 2. There is no need to send the application documents to the Offices by mail or other means. 3. No admission fees are required for the selection procedure Required documents The application must include in.pdf format the following documents: 1) Photocopy of a valid Passport or Identity Card; 2) Curriculum Vitae in English (European Format); 3) Statement of Purpose: a short explanation (max. 2 pages) in English on the academic and professional reasons explaining why the applicant is interested in the curriculum in Health Economics & Management; 4) Transcript of records (i.e. list of exams and grades achieved); 5) Degree certificate; N.B. For non-eu citizens resident abroad: degree certificate with exams and grades obtained. For qualifications obtained in one EU country, candidates are required to produce, instead of the degree certificate, a self-declaration of graduation with exams and grades obtained. Students graduated at the University of Bologna, which will indicate this condition in the curriculum vitae (CV form), will be exempted from providing any certification or declaration. 6) For non-native speakers of English: a certificate of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, etc.) or any statement or self-declaration proving an equivalent proficiency. The Admission Board may verify the declared competence during the interview. 7) For NON-EU citizens: a copy of valid permit of stay, in case candidates already have it; 8) It is highly recommended to attached any additional documentation certifying educational activities or competencies acquired by the candidate: Graduate Record Examination (GRE) certificate, Summer Schools attendance, specialisation courses English Knowledge Candidates must have a good command of the English language at B2 level. In the attached table candidates can find the main accepted certificates. That list is just an example, other certificates will be accepted. EU and NON- EU students with a foreign degree Once admitted, EU and Non-EU students with a foreign degree shall contact the Italian Embassy or the Consulate offices in the country where the diploma was awarded to: 1. comply with the pre-enrolment procedure; 2. get hold of the Declaration of Value (and of the other required documents); 3. get hold of a valid visa. Deadlines for pre-enrolment are established by each Embassy/Consulate, therefore it is better to contact them as soon as possible.

5 VERY IMPORTANT: Students are admitted to enrolment conditionally on the legal validity of their first degree, which is officially declared by the Italian Authorities in the country where it was awarded, and on the possession of a visa for study reasons. Therefore, enrolment is subject to the full compliance of the above procedure.
