Face Fix (Outside Mount) This measurement covers the entire window, including the architraves, also allowing you to fit the blind past and below the architraves. Using a metal measuring tape, measure from the outside of the architrave from one side to the other at the top of the window frame. Width B: If you are taking your blind past the architraves, measure how far past you can go on each side and add this amount to the total width. Drop C: Measure from the top of the architrave to the bottom of the sill. If you require your blind to sit below the architrave, we recommend taking the measurement mm below. If you are taking your blind to the floor, measure from the top of the architrave to the floor covering. (If you do not yet have floor coverings, please refer to our Additional Information sheet in our Measure and Install section) If you are fixing your blind into plaster we recommend using Ramset Hollow Wall Anchors - Code HW13M4 If you are fixing your blind into brick we recommend using Ramset Dynabolt Masonry Anchor - Code DP08065 If possible, we recommend that you take your measurements past the architrave and below the sill to provide maximum light control and privacy. Always make sure you check that there are no obstructions, such as walls, wall hangings, window winders or handles. When selecting cord control sides, make sure they are easily accessible. Cord controls must be securely attached to cleats on window frames or mullions and must be at least 1.6m above floor level. Failing to comply with these instructions result in breaking the Child Safety Laws. We cannot be held responsible for you neglecting to secure the cord controls as described.
Recess Fix (Inside Mount) This measurement fits neatly inside the window frame, exposing the architraves. We do recommend that 89mm blade verticals are installed in the recess to ensure a neat look finish. Using a metal measuring tape, measure the width of the recess from the inside of the window frame at the top, centre and bottom. Note down the smallest measurement. Drop B: Measure the drop of the recess from the inside of the window frame on the left, centre and right. Note down the smallest measurement. Recess depth required mm blades require 135mm sill depth for the blind to fit neatly in the recess. - 89mm blades require 97mm sill depth for the blind to fit neatly in the recess. Minimum recess depth required - 50mm for each blade size but will result in the blind protruding out slightly in the recess. The clearance on the finished drop provided to you will be mm Please do not make any deductions as our workroom will do this. If you are fixing your blind into plaster we recommend using Ramset Hollow Wall Anchors - Code HW13M4 If you are fixing your blind into brick we recommend using Ramset Dynabolt Masonry Anchor - Code DP08065 Please allow 135mm for 127mm blade and 97mm for 89mm blade sill depth clearance in a recess to ensure a neat fit. Always check to make sure there are no obstructions such as window winders and handles. When selecting a side for the controls, make sure they are easily accessible. these instructions result in breaking the Child Safety Laws. We cannot be held responsible for you neglecting to secure the cord controls as described.
Corner window Through & Butting - (Ariel View) First you will need to decide if you are fitting your Blinds as a Face fix or a Recess fix. We recommend 89mm Verticals to be installed in a recess. Please refer to the measuring Face fix Diagram and Recess fix Diagram for these two options. Face Fixing/Arc - If you are face fixing your blinds they will be through and butting (see diagram A), you will need to decide which blind is to be the through blind and which will be the butt blind. * Please take into consideration that there will be a slight gap where the two blinds meet in the middle, you may like to position your blinds to where you will have maximum privacy and light control. Using a metal measuring tape, measure from the outside of the architrave tight into the corner of the window. If you require your blind to sit past the architrave, add this amount to the overall measurement. Width B: Measure from the outside of the architrave tight into the corner. If you require your blind to sit past the architrave, add this amount to the overall width measurement. Drop: Measure from the top of the architrave to the bottom of the sill. If you require you blind to sit past the sill, add this amount to the overall drop measurement. If you are taking your blind to the floor, we recommend that the blind sits 10-15mm above the floor covering. (If you do not yet have floor coverings, please refer to our Additional Information sheet in our Measure and Install section) Diagram A Recess Fixing ( Through & Butt ) - If you have a deep recess and you require your blinds to fit at the back your blinds will be through and butting (see diagram B), you will need to decide which blind will be the through blind and which will be the butt blind. * Please take into consideration that there will be a slight gap where the two blinds meet in the middle, you may like to position them where you will have maximum privacy and light control. Measure from the inside of the window frame tight in to the corner. Sill depth clearance required - refer to recess diagram. Width B: Measure from the inside of the window frame tight in to the corner. Sill depth clearance required - refer to recess diagram. Drop: Measure the drop from the top to the bottom of the inside of the window frame (refer to our Recess fix diagram). Recess depth required - refer to recess diagram. * When ordering you MUST state in the room section which blind is through and butt recess e.g Bed Left Corner through, Bed Right Corner butt Diagram B
Corner window NOT Butting - (Ariel View) Front Recess Fixing - If you have a deep recess and you require your blinds to fit at the front your blinds will meet up to each other (see diagram C). * Please be aware that there will be a gap where the blinds meet up. Measure from the inside of the window frame on the left at the front of the recess, into the corner point of the window frame on the right. Width B: Measure from the inside of the window frame on the right at the front of the recess into the corner point of the window frame to the left. Drop: Measure from the inside of the window frame to the top of the window sill or to the floor surface * If you do not yet have floor coverings, please refer to our Additional Information sheet located in our Measure and Install Guide section. Diagram C IMPORTANT - If you require your blinds to be made as a through and butt blind (diagram A and B) please state which blind is the through and butt in the room section when you place your order. - If you require your blinds to fit as per diagram C, do not order as through and butt you only need to supply the measurements taken. - Please take into consideration that there will be a slight gaps where the blinds meet. You may like to position the gap for the through and butt blinds where it will reduce light and assist with privacy. Please do not make any deductions measurements as our workrooms will do this. If you are fixing your blind into plaster we recommend using Ramset Hollow Wall Anchors - Code HW13M4 If you are fixing your blind into brick we recommend using Ramset Dynabolt Masonry Anchor - Code DP08065 Be aware of the gap where the blinds meet, be sure to position them accordingly. Always check to make sure there are no obstructions such as walls, wall hangings, window winders or handles. Remember to note in the room section which blind is the butt blind and which is the through blind when ordering. Please allow minimum 50mm sill depth clearance in a recess to ensure a neat fit. When selecting sides for the controls, make sure they are easily accessible. these instructions result in breaking the Child Safety Laws. We cannot be held responsible for you neglecting to secure the cord controls as described.
Sliding Doors (Face Fix & Recess Fix) 2 Panel Sliding Doors Installing a Vertical blind on a 2 Panel Sliding Door allows you to have it stack one way to the left or right, according to the opening of your door. We do recommend 89mm Verticals are installed in a recess. Width A (Face Fix): Using a metal tape measure, start by measuring the total width of your window from the outsides of the architraves. If you require your blinds to fit past the architraves, measure how far past you can go and add the amount to the total width measurement. Width B (Recess Fix): Measure from the inside of the window frame from the left to right. Sill depth clearance required - refer to recess diagram. Drop C (Face Fix): Measure from the top of the architrave to the floor covering, (If you do not yet have floor coverings, please refer to our Additional Information sheet in our Measure and Install section) Drop D (Recess Fix): Measure from the inside of the window frame at the top to the floor covering. (If you do not yet have floor coverings, please refer to our Addition Information sheet in our Measure and Install section) Recess depth required - refer to recess diagram. Please do not make any deductions for recess blinds as our workroom will do this. If you are fixing your blind into plaster we recommend using Ramset Hollow Wall Anchors - Code HW13M4 If you are fixing your blind into brick we recommend using Ramset Dynabolt Masonry Anchor - Code DP08065 We recommend that you have left stack for left opening doors and right stack for right sliding doors. Please allow minimum 50mm sill depth clearance in a recess to ensure a neat fit. Always check to make sure there are no obstructions, such as walls, wall hangings, window winders or handles. When selecting cord control sides, make sure they are easily accessible. these instructions result in breaking the Child Safety Laws. We cannot be held responsible for you neglecting to secure the cord controls as described.
Multiple Windows (Face Fix & Recess Fix) 3 Panel Sliding Doors Installing a Vertical blind on a 3 Panel Sliding Door allows you to have it opening one way to the left or right, you can also have it centre opening. We do recommend that 89mm Verticals are installed in a recess. Width A (Face Fix): Using a metal measuring tape, measure the outside of the architrave from left to to right. If you require your blind to fit past the architrave, measure how far past you can go and add this amount to the overall width measurement. Width B (Recess Fix): Measure the inside of the window frame from left to right. Recess depth required - refer to recess diagram. Drop C (Face Fix): Measure from the top of the architrave to the floor covering.
