2 Virtual Classroom for Training Pre-test Procedure When using the Virtual Classroom for Avaya training for the first time you may need to pre-test your ability to access the Global Knowledge (GK) Avaya Remote Labs. Follow these easy steps listed below to test your access and connection to the Global Knowledge Avaya Remote Lab prior to the first day of class. 1. From your browser, enter the URL or IP address for the SSLVPN appliance: (IP: ) Note; Do not use Internet Explorer 8, or Vista. Only Internet Explorer 7.0 and earlier and Firefox have been tested to be compatible. Other browsers have not been tested and verified to be compatible with the SSLVPN Appliance Access Manager client software. Note: For Internet Explorer users, go to Step 2. For FireFox users, go to Step 15 Page 2 of 15

3 2. With Internet Explorer select the Continue to this website (not recommended) certificate warning. This will re-direct your connection to a secure HTTPS connection required for access. 3. From the Log in to: drop-down list, choose the studenttest Login ID created for the pretest. 4. Click Next and the Please log in screen appears Page 3 of 15

4 5. Enter in the Username field, studenttest and in the Password field enter studenttest. 6. Click Log in. 7. If you are asked to install the Aventail Access Manager, select Install. Page 4 of 15

5 8. A File Download screen will appear, select Run. Page 5 of 15

6 9. Depending on your browser you may get a Security Warning from your browser, select Run. 10. The Aventail Access Manager Install progress window will appear. Wait until the install process has completed. 11. When the Aventail Access Manager Install process has completed the Aventail Access Manager HOME page will appear indicating a successful installation. Page 6 of 15

7 12. You have successfully installed Aventail Access Manager Client. You will now need to complete the setup procedures. 13. When the class starts your instructor will provide you with any additional Login and passwords you need for the course. You will not be using the pre-test log in ID that you just used for testing your access. 14. Go to Step With FireFox, on the Connection is Untrusted popup, click I Understand Risks at the bottom of the screen. 16. Next, Click the Add Exception radio button at the bottom of the screen. This is to allow access to the website. Page 7 of 15

8 17. On the Add Exception Popup window, click the Confirm Security Exception Radio button. The address will be the same as above. gkavaya.remotelabs.com. 18. From the Log in to: drop-down list, choose the studenttest Login ID created for the pretest. It will be located at the bottom of the list. Page 8 of 15

9 19. Click Next and the Please log in screen appears.enter in the Username field, studenttest and in the Password field enter studenttest. 20. Click Log in. Page 9 of 15

10 21. If you are asked to install the Aventail Access Manager, select Install. The Aventail Access Manager Install progress window will appear. Wait until the install process has completed. NOTE: If the Access Manager fails to install or you don't have permissions to install the Access Manager, please contact your local IT staff. Page 10 of 15

11 22. Once you have completed the Access Manager Install, click the logout button and close the browser window. 23. Launch a browser. From your browser, enter the IP address for the SSLVPN appliance: With Internet Explorer select the Continue to this website (not recommended) certificate warning. This will re-direct your connection to a secure HTTPS connection required for access. This may not appear. Page 11 of 15

12 25. From the Log in to: drop-down list, choose GK CLAB SSLVPN 26. Click Next and the Please log in screen appears 28. Enter in the Username field, studenttest and in the Password field enter studenttest Page 12 of 15

13 27. Click Log in. 28. You will now be on the home page, click the Install Connect Tunnel link. 29. On the Install Software popup window, click Install. Page 13 of 15

14 30. Monitor the Aventail Connect Progress as identified below. 31. Once the download completes. On the Aventail Connect client install page, click OK. 32. Logout of your browser by clicking the Log out button and close your browser as you will now be launching the connect tunnel client software you just loaded. Page 14 of 15

15 33. On your Computer Desktop or the location to which you saved it, double click the GK CLAB SSLVPN icon to launch the tunnel client. 34. In the Username field, enter: studenttest. In the password field enter: studenttest and click connect. 35. You should now see a successful connection. To verify this connection go to the system tray and mouse over the Connect tunnel icon. 36. Once you have completed the above procedures please right click the connect tunnel icon in the system tray and choose disconnect. 38. You are now ready for class, you will be ed class specific usernames and passwords prior to the beginning of class. Your instructor will also have your credentials. Page 15 of 15
