1 CIM_HT031 Hw t Install WebSpace with CIMPLICITY v2.0 GE HMI/SCADA - CIMPLICITY Outline This dcument walks thrugh the minimal cnfiguratin steps needed t get Prficy WebSpace 4.8 t wrk with CIMPLICITY. Cnfiguring WebSpace with CIMPLICITY The fllwing steps utline what is necessary in rder t get WebSpace functinal with CIMPLICITY with Micrsft Internet Infrmatin Services (IIS). Prir t the installatin the fllwing will be necessary: WebSpace Installatin media (DVD/ISO) CIMPLICITY Installatin media (DVD/ISO) Operating System installatin disk (necessary fr the Micrsft Internet Infrmatin Services cmpnents). A valid WebSpace License A valid CIMPLICITY License Nte: The fllwing steps must be dne in the rder in which they are listed. Skipping any steps may cause WebSpace t fail t install prperly n the system. Installatin Outline The minimal steps that will be necessary t Install WebSpace with CIMPLICITY are as fllws: i. Install CIMPLICITY ii. Rebt iii. Install the latest CIMPLICITY SIM iv. Rebt v. Install Micrsft Internet Infrmatin Services (IIS) vi. Rebt vii. Install Prficy WebSpace viii. Rebt 1. Installatin f CIMPLICITY Befre WebSpace itself can be installed, CIMPLICITY must be first installed n the system in questin. It is pssible t install and run a prject n a CIMPLICITY Server that is als running WebSpace, but it is nt recmmended. Ideally, it is suggested t install CIMPLICITY (as a Server) n the WebSpace system, but t use it mre as a CIMPLICITY Viewer, and run the prject remtely n anther physical nde. T install the sftware, use the installatin media fr CIMPLICITY and ensure t install it while running as a Lcal Administratr accunt. When given the ptin n the installatin splash screen, chse t install 1

2 as a CIMPLICITY Server. When the installatin prcess finishes then rebt the system t cmplete the installatin. i. Launch the InstallFrntEnd.exe frm the HMI/SCADA - CIMPLICITY DVD/ISO ii. On the Frnt End chse t install a CIMPLICITY Server iii. G thrugh the installatin and let it cmplete iv. Rebt the system when cmplete 2. Installatin f Latest CIMPLICITY SIM After the installatin f CIMPLICITY is cmplete, it is necessary t install the latest CIMPLICITY SIM. If intending t use CIMPLICITY 8.2, then a minimum f CIMPLICITY 8.2 SIM 24 must be installed. After the installatin f CIMPLICITY, it is recmmended t install the latest CIMPLICITY SIM. T d this, please dwnlad it frm the GE website and run the installer. Again, make sure that the installatin is run as a Lcal System Administratr accunt. i. Dwnlad the latest SIM frm the GE Supprt site ii. Install the SIM iii. Rebt when cmplete 3. Installatin f Micrsft Internet Infrmatin Server/Cmpnents Befre WebSpace can be installed n the hst system, it is necessary t install Micrsft IIS with the necessary cmpnents. The fllwing steps utline the installatin f these cmpnents and IIS: a. Windws 2012 R2 Installatin When installing Micrsft Internet Infrmatin Server n a Windws 2012 R2 system, it is necessary t use the Cmputer Manager, and t run the Add Rles r Features Wizard. Using the Cmputer Manager select the Server Rles tab. i. Navigate t the Windws Cntrl Panel->Administrative Tls->Server Manager ii. When it pens click n the Add Rles and features link iii. The Add Rles and Features Wizard will appear iv. Click the Next buttn v. On the Select Installatin Type dialg, chse Rle based r feature based installatin, and click the Next buttn. vi. On the Select Destinatin Server dialg, chse the lcal server and click n the Next buttn. vii. On the Select Server Rles dialg chse Web Server (IIS). If a dialg cmes up asking t add Feature required fr Web Server (IIS), click n the Add Features buttn. viii. On the left hand pane, there shuld be an entry that appears called Web Server Rle (IIS). Select Web Server Rle (IIS)->Rle Services frm the list. ix. When dne selecting the entries click n the Next buttn xi. Select the Install buttn. xii. When the sftware installatin is cmplete, then clse the dialg and rebt the cmputer b. Windws 7 Installatin When installing n a Windws 7/Windws 2008 perating system, the Micrsft IIS features can be installed via the Prgrams and Features utility lcated in the Windws Cntrl Panel. In rder t get t this utility please d the fllwing: i. Navigate t the Windws Cntrl Panel ii. Navigate t Prgrams and Features and click n it. The Prgrams and Features utility will pen. iii. Frm the Prgrams and Features windw click n Turn Windws Features n r ff link n the left hand side. iv. A dialg will appear n which the fllwing ptins must be selected: Internet Infrmatin Services Web Management Tls Wrld Wide Web Services Applicatin Develpment Features IIS Management Cnsle.NET Extensibility ASP 3

Select the required ptins and click n the OK buttn. This will cause Windws t install the required cmpnents. Nte: It may prmpt yu fr the Operating System media when ding this s it is recmmended t have that available if needed. vi. After the required ptins are installed, then rebt the cmputer. 4. Install Prficy WebSpace The next step is t install Prficy WebSpace n the cmputer. Launch the Prficy WebSpace installer, and chse t install the WebSpace server n the system. Make sure that the installer is run by a Lcal System Administratr n the cmputer. i. Launch the InstallFrntEnd.exe frm the WebSpace installatin DVD/ISO ii. Frm the menu chse t install Prficy WebSpace 4

Accept the license agreement when prmpted It is suggested t use the default installatin lcatin if pssible, but this can be mdified as needed. v. When prmpted fr a Lgn, please leave the user name and passwrd fields blank. This will set the PrficyWebSpaceAppPl applicatin pl in IIS t run under the prvided accunt/identity. 6 5. Verifying WebSpace is Registered Prperly When WebSpace is prperly installed n the system, then it inserts a new website int the Micrsft IIS cnfiguratin called PrficyWebSpace. T cnfirm if this is set up prperly please d the fllwing. i. Open Micrsft Internet Infrmatin Services (IIS) Manager ii. On the left hand pane f the IIS Manager, navigate t COMPUTERNAME->Sites->Default Web Site. iii. Underneath the default website shuld be anther site called PrficyWebSpace. If this is visible, then the Prficy WebSpace installatin has ccurred prperly and it is available t be used. Figure 3 The PrficyWebSpace website in IIS. iv. It is advisable t cnfirm that the Prficy WebSpace service is running. This can be dne via the Windws Start menu by ging t Prficy WebSpace->Start Prficy WebSpace Server. v. It is a gd idea t als pen the Prficy WebSpace administratr and cnfirm it is able t cnnect t the running WebSpace instance. This can be dne via the Start menu in the Prficy WebSpace->Tls->Prficy WebSpace Administratr. 6. Creating the Web Page via CIMPLICITY Optins The next step is t create the web page that will be used t display the CIMPLICITY CimView screen. This is dne via the fllwing steps: i. Open CIMPLICITY Optins ii. Navigate t the Prficy WebSpace tab iii. Click n the Create Web Page buttn 6

7 iv. On the dialg that pens click n the Brwse Screen buttn and select the CimView screen that yu want t publish t WebSpace v. Next select the Brwse Page buttn and n the dialg that pens (which shuld pen t C:\Prgram Files\Prficy\Prficy WebSpace\Web by default) type in the file name (i.e. myscreen.html). vi. Click the Save buttn when cmplete vii. Click OK n the Create Web Page dialg when dne viii. At this pint the cnfiguratin f everything shuld be cmplete. 7

8 7. Validating a Client Cnnectin The last step is t cnfirm that a Web Brwser frm a remte nde is able t cnnect t the Prficy WebSpace server and is able t View the screen. Nte: Prir t executing these steps, please ensure that the CIMPLICITY Prject r the VIEWER Prcess is running n the WebSpace nde. i. On a nde ther than the Prficy WebSpace hst system, pen up a Web Brwser using a lcal system administratr accunt. Nte: It is recmmended that the first time that yu cnnect t the WebSpace hst that a lcal system Administratr is used t launch the brwser. This is due t the fact that it must install a set f ActiveX cntrls and/r plugins and a user accunt that has privileges t install it is needed. Once the installatin is cmplete it will n lnger be necessary t run the web brwser as an Administratr. ii. In the Web Brwser type in the fllwing: hst = the name f the cmputer that WebSpace is running n. PrficyWebSpace = the registered web site name in the IIS Manager. filename.html = the filename f the html file created via CIMPLICITY Optins in Step 6 (previusly). iii. The user will be prmpted t install the ActiveX cntrl/plugin. Chse t agree when prmpted. iv. When the installatin f the cntrl is dne, it may ask yu t restart yur brwser. If it des ask t restart the brwser, then d s, and again attempt t recnnect t the same URL. v. Once cnnected, yu will be prmpted fr a username/passwrd. Enter in a valid user name and passwrd fr a Windws user that exists n the Prficy WebSpace cmputer. vi. Once the user is lgged in then it shuld display the CimView sessin with the specified screen requested. 8
