3 Race date The race will take place on Sunday 8 January Venue location The venue will be Tollymore Forest Park, Bryansford Road, Newcastle County Down, Northern Ireland BT33 0PW. Sat nav. co-ordinates: , Map link: Parking arrangements All event attendees must enter the forest through the main gate. The forest has ample car park spaces on wide tarmac areas. They are marked on the event map. The first three of every category have to present themselves for the award ceremony as soon as the last rider has crossed the finish line in their race. 4 Opening times to venue The venue will be open from 8:30 am on Sunday 8 January Spectator access and information Spectators will be allowed to stand outside the course along any point. Access to the lower fields is across grass field number 2 (See map below). Spectators are restricted from using the tarmac road to gain access to the lower fields. No spectators will be allowed into the pit area. It is recommended that all spectators wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Marshals Spectators are asked to show respect to all personnel involved with the event. They are all volunteers and are there to ensure the safety of you and the riders. There will be marshals in place to control pedestrian access at the crossing points. All spectators are asked to obey instructions from the marshals. Transport links For bus links to Newcastle see Emergency evacuation location In the event of an emergency all riders, spectators and organisers should gather at the forest ranger s hut near the car parks and await further instruction. Litter use of bins Riders and spectators are asked to use the bins provided on site or to take their rubbish home. Catering arrangements A chip van will be on site in front of the scout changing building. A tea & coffee van will be available beside the pit area (Field 3). Hosted by Dromara Cycling Club 8 January

5 Description of the course The circuit is approximately 2.8km long and the number of laps will be communicated by finish judge after the second passing over the finish line. The map below shows the entrance and exit to the forest park, the location of the car parks and the event fields. The majority of the course is located within four event fields. Field 1: Monument field this is the location of the starting grid and finish line. Field 2: Scout field number 1 a small grass field beside the scout changing area. Field 3: Scout field number 2 location of the double pit and VIP parking. Field 4: The lowest field with access in and out through a newly created hole in the dividing fence back into Field 3 The two scout fields are connected by a short section of forest in which riders will have to negotiate a route between the trees. Connection from Field 3 to Field 1 is via the tarmac road (190 metres long). The road climbs up towards the scout camp changing area before turning left into a newly cut section through the forest. 6 Toilet facilities There are toilets on site in the car park as well as beside the course in the scout camp facilities. See map for details.
