Our story begins in the 1930s, when an elegant summer playhouse rose on the shore to host aspiring actors such as Henry Fonda, Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullivan. 2 The Bellman is one of the first employees the guest will come into contact with when arriving at the property. This position requires a high level of guest service and ability to communicate with the guests and employees of the hotel. This is a physical demanding job that requires someone who is motivated and willing to work hard. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Since you will have interaction with the guests, advanced English is required. Please be willing to work in any area of the resort as business needs dictate. Please provide accurate start and end date information during your interview. Please do not commit to work dates that are NOT within your country embassy dates or university break. It is unprofessional and inconvenient to change dates following the interview. SECOND JOBS: It is possible for participants to obtain a second job, but the second job must not interfere with the schedule for your job at Sea Crest. Required Duties: *Meet and greet all hotel guests * Assist guests with their luggage *Assist Valet Parking *Escorts incoming guests to their rooms, check rooms to ensure they are in order, offer information regarding features of rooms, services of hotel and points of interest *Assist guests with special needs *Attend to group arrivals and departures *Receive and deliver items and messages for guests *Handle guest complaints and request *Maintain luggage storage areas * *Provide the highest level of guest service at all times * Must also be willing to work in any area of the resort as needed. Skills Required: This job is preferred for students who have previous USA working experience. Students will need to be alert and ready to serve the guests as needed. This position requires standing, walking, and lifting for long periods of time. Supplies Required: Khaki pants must be purchased from the Sea Crest. You must bring with you, all white socks and shoes. The shirt will be provided by the employer. Supplies Cost: Company Policies: Employment is contingent on passing a drug screening upon arrival. 4 Area Information Area Information: Cape Cod is a very nice area in the summer with white sand beaches and endless activities. As one of the most famous areas of the United States, this is a great place to spend your Work Travel Program. Websites: Climate: Since Cape Cod is surrounded by water on 3 sides, the weather can be very hard to predict. The ocean acts as a natural air conditioner keeping temperatures at a comfortable level. Summer temperatures can range from 60 degrees F to 80 degrees F depending on the weather. Nearest Major Cites: Boston, MA (1.5 hours away) New York, NY (4 hours away) Providence, RI (1.5 hours away). Cultural Opportunities: Beaches, swimming, boating, great shopping & dining, theater, whale watching, biking tours, nature walks, and night life. Shining Sea Bikeway is a 12-mile bike path that travels along the ocean, cranberry bogs, and more beautiful scenery. You can take the Island Queen Ferry to Martha's Vineyard for a day trip.
