Crawley Telephone: Woods Loke Monday Mail 28th November 2016 Attendance Race Well done to 6MT who achieved 100% attendance last week and all received two golden tickets each. Congratulations to RWA and 3AC who reached the Silver Medal in our Olympic race. These classes may come to school in non-uniform on Friday 2 nd December as a reward. Children In Need A massive thank you to all of the parents who supported our Children In Need event. The Pudsey Bear outlines were very quickly filled and we raised p. Photographs Photograph orders are now waiting to be collected from the school office. If you would like them to be given to your child to bring home, please put this in an and we will send them home, however we cannot accept any responsibility if the photographs do not reach you. Parking Could we please urge everybody to be considerate when parking and driving around the area surrounding the school. We are receiving many complaints about the way people are parking and driving whilst on mobile phones. Please help us to keep all of our children and their families safe by observing the law. If you witness specific incidents, please report these to the local police. Christmas Jumper Day We are supporting the Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day this year, as parents and children have requested to do this in the past. All children are invited to come to school on Friday 16 th December in a Christmas Jumper or a red top and donate 1 towards the Save the Children charity.

2 KS1 Christmas Performance Children in Years 1 and 2 will be bringing home a letter today about ordering tickets for the Christmas performance so please make sure you check their book bags! There will be two tickets available per family. We will keep a waiting list for anyone wishing to have extra tickets. Due to the distractions it causes for our young performers, could we please ask that younger siblings are not brought along unless it is completely unavoidable. Thank you. Grandparents Lunch Thank you to everyone who attended the Grandparent Lunches over the past two weeks. We have received some very positive feedback and will certainly look to run this event again in the future. Uniform We currently have lots of uniform going missing, could you please check your child doesn t have any items that do not belong to them. If you do, please return them to your child s class teacher. Thank you. Football Club Both Football clubs on Tuesday 6 th December have been cancelled this is due to our Christmas Fayre taking place. Spare Clothing Years 1 and 2 If your child is sent home with any spare underwear, could you please ensure it is washed and returned to school as soon as possible. Our stocks of spare underwear are currently very low, if anyone has any they could donate for our spare clothing box it would be much appreciated. Christmas Dinner 13 th December Just to remind you that we need a form back for every child by this Friday, informing us whether your child would like a Christmas dinner ordering or whether they will be having a packed lunch on this day. If you have not received a form please contact the school office for a duplicate.

3 Governor Elections The final date for applying to be a parent governor is 5 th December. If you are interested in becoming a Governor and have not received any forms, please contact the school office. Spanish Club Year 6 Thank you to the Year 6 pupils who have expressed an interest in attending a Spanish Club, This club is now being planned in finer detail and will commence in January Further details will be sent out before Christmas. Norwich Castle Trip Years 1 and 2 If you have a child in Year 1 or 2 you should have received a letter regarding their trip to Norwich Castle. If you have not received a form, please contact the school office. Messages from the Friends: Christmas Hamper Donations Reminder Don t forget you can still donate items for the hamper raffle, As in previous years we are asking you to donate any items for us to use in the annual Christmas Fayre raffle. Alcohol, Soft Drinks, Chocolate, Mince Pies, Christmas Pudding, Biscuits, Cakes etc etc. We would also welcome any unwanted Teddy Bears you have that need a new home for our Christmas Tombola stall! Woods Loke Mini Christmas Fayre Tuesday 6 th December pm-5pm There will be stalls, games, refreshments and of course the raffle! More details out soon. Tuesday 13th December 2016 Father Christmas and his Elves will be making a stop at Woods Loke again this year; he will see all the children at school during the day to give out some gifts.

4 Join the Friends Committee Do you like to raise money for good causes, can you spare some time to help out at events, have you got fundraising ideas that you would like to share? Then join the Friends committee. We are a group of people made up of parents, grandparents & carers and our goal is to help raise extra funds for the school. We meet at school every few months (unless we have an event coming up, then we meet more often) and we are looking to expand the committee. We have a chair, secretary and a treasurer but what we do need are more hands to help out at events.
