1 Quick Start Guide #1 Welcome to! These Quick Start sheets address some basics from installation steps to screen calibration. This document assumes a basic understanding of your computer hardware and software. If you require more detailed information, please access Help on the Dashboard, refer to the User Guide on the CD, or contact Technical Support. Touchscreen (Front View) USB Note: USB installation must always be performed prior to software installation. The RJ45 cable must be shielded with ends grounded. The maximum length is 25. Serial Installation: 1 Plug one end of the RJ45 cable into the Controller (back of the, bottom-right corner). 2 Plug the other end of the RJ45 cable into the Serial Adapter. 3 Connect the Serial Adapter to an available 9 pin Serial port (back of computer). Tighten the screws to ensure a firm connection. 4 Plug the Power Adapter (mini-plug) into the Serial Adapter, and connect the other end to the power cord set. 5 Plug the power cord into the power outlet. 2 Quick Start Guide #2 Software Installation Insert the CD, and follow these simple steps. 1. Identify your Controller. A USB: The H-USB controller should automatically be selected. Select Install. A Serial: Select the appropriate controller. If you are not sure what to select, check the controller label. Select Install. Serial only: Identify the Com Port. Click Install. You are ready to install software. Click Install to proceed with installation. 2. Installation is complete. Click Close. software has been successfully installed. 3 Quick Start Guide #3 Calibration After installing software, you must calibrate the. Whiteboard and ActionBar Calibration only needs to be performed once. Calibrate Screen should be performed each time the projector or the touchscreen is moved, to ensure accurate touchscreen functionality. Whiteboard Calibration 1. Use your mouse to double-click the System Tray Icon. The Dashboard appears. Interactive Calibration Your projector must be ON and aimed at the. 1. Use your mouse to double-click the System Tray Icon. The Dashboard appears. ActionBar Calibration 1. Use your mouse to double-click the System Tray Icon. The Dashboard appears. 2. Select the Calibrate button to open the Calibration dialog. 2. Select the Calibrate button to open the Calibration dialog. If necessary, adjust your projector as indicated. For details, refer to previous column: How to Set Up the Data Projector. 2. If sound is enabled on your computer, you will hear a ping and the next screen appears. 5. Press the bottom-right corner of the drawing surface Note: If your projector is on, DO NOT touch the projected arrow tips or circles. Touch the actual top-left corner and the bottom-right corner of the drawing surface. Touch all nine points where the lines cross in any order on the projected image. Touch each point precisely to ensure accurate calibration. As each point is touched, a green check mark (3) will appear. Calibrate Screen every time the or projector is moved. 4. At the, firmly press the top left corner of the ActionBar. If sound is enabled on your computer, you will hear a ping and the next screen appears. 5. Press the top-right corner of the ActionBar. Note: If your projector is on, DO NOT touch the projected arrow tips or circles. Touch the actual top left corner and the top-right corner of the ActionBar. ActionBar Calibration should only have to be performed once. Proceed to Quick Start #4 A

4 Quick Start Guide #4 FAQ Frequently Asked Questions Why isn t my working? If the does not appear to be working, check the following: Is enabled? Select the System Tray icon. Is there a (3) or (6) beside Enabled? If (6), then select Enabled to enable it. Verify that a (3) is now beside Enabled. For the Serial, is the green light displayed on the Power Adapter? This indicates that power is going to the controller. Are all cables and connections secure? Try reconnecting the USB Adapter or power and RJ-45 Cables to the Adapter. For the Serial, is the correct COM port selected? Look at the number beside the COM port on the computer and compare it to the Hardware tab of the Properties dialog box to see if they match. What is calibration? Calibration enables software to interpret touch locations on the. There are three types of calibration: Whiteboard Calibration coordinates the physical area and position of the whiteboard. ActionBar Calibration coordinates the physical area and position of the ActionBar. Interactive Calibration coordinates the physical area and position of the projected image. The Whiteboard and ActionBar only need to be calibrated once, during initial installation. However, it is recommended that you perform Interactive Calibration each time the projector or the is moved to ensure accurate projectorto-touchscreen interactivity. Why isn t my projected image square on my screen? Your image is Keystoning. Keystoning occurs when your projector has not been positioned at the correct height or angle to the screen. Most data projectors have keystone correction (refer to your data projector s User Guide for instructions). For manual correction, refer to steps 1 through 4 below. To correct keystoning manually: A If your projected image appears like this, move the projector to the left so that it squarely faces the center of the. A If your projected image appears like this, move the projector to the right so that it squarely faces the center of the. A If your projected image appears like this, raise the projector accordingly. How do I clean my? What if I use a permanent marker on my? What happens if I lose a marker or cloth? The best way to clean is with any consumer grade ammonia based window cleaner. Using an Egan dry erase marker, scribble over the permanent marker ink and wipe clean. Repeat if necessary. Ammonia based window cleaner is also effective. Simply replace your lost accessory with any standard dry erase markerboard accessory, or call Customer Service to order a replacement. How do I set up the data projector? It is always good practice to refer to the User Guide or Quick Start instructions supplied with your data projector. However, here are some basic data projector set-up instructions: 1. Set the data projector on an appropriate support surface, approximately 10 feet from the. 2. Connect one end of the VGA Monitor Cable to the data projector, and the other end to the 15-pin VGA port on the back of the computer. 3. Connect the data projector s power cord to the power outlet. 5. Aim the projected image so that it is square and fills the surface, leaving a 1 (one inch) border from the frame. Calibrate Draw Annotate Virtual Keyboard Help Dashboard, System Tray and ActionBar System Tray Icon The System Tray Icon resides in the Windows Taskbar next to the clock. Double-click the System Tray Icon to open the Dashboard. A single-click on the System Tray Icon opens a pop-up menu that provides access to all the Dashboard functions as well as: Dashboard Launches Dashboard 3 Enabled is active and communicating with your computer 6 Enabled is inactive and data is not being transferred (ie: disable to make a COM port available to another device) About Displays software details. Suite Dashboard Controls Calibrate After installing software, perform Whiteboard, ActionBar, and Interactive Calibration. Whiteboard and ActionBar calibration are only performed once. Tools Whiteboard Mode In Whiteboard Mode, without a projector, Teamboard is an electronic whiteboard. Draw Interactive calibration should be performed every time the or projector is moved. Refer to Quick Start #3 for details. Draw is the application for capturing notes and drawings, and saving them to a file, printing, ing content, and more. Refer to Quick Start #6 for details. Interactive Mode In Interactive Mode, use with a projector as an interactive whiteboard, touchscreen and to annotate projected images. Refer to Quick Start #6 for details. Virtual Keyboard Annotate In Interactive Mode, Annotate enables on-screen markup of applications and presentations projected on the. Refer to Quick Start #6 for details. In Interactive Mode, select Virtual Keyboard to open an on-screen keyboard that enables you to type text or numbers into applications, right at the board. 6 Quick Start Guide #6 Quick Overview: Draw and Annotate Draw in Interactive Mode (with projector) Annotate Mode Draw in Whiteboard Mode (no projector) Use Draw in Interactive Mode to create, mark up, edit, save and manipulate projected drawings. Your computer and data projector must be turned ON. While in Interactive Mode, use Annotate to draw shapes around, or underline, important items what is being projected such as spreadsheets, or presentations. Use Draw in WhiteBoard Mode to save work created on-screen to your computer. Your computer must be turned ON, your data projector must be turned OFF. 1. Double-click the System Tray Icon. The Dashboard appears. Select Interactive Mode. 1. To launch Annotate, double-click the System Tray Icon to reveal the Dashboard. Quick Overview 2. Select Annotate 1. Select Whiteboard Mode on the Dashboard. icon. The Annotate Toolbar appears. 3. Navigate to a screen to annotate. E.G. open a spreadsheet. 2. Launch Draw from the Dashboard. 3. Select a color on the Draw Toolbar or ActionBar. Draw on the using your finger or stylus. Additional colors are available under the Custom Color button on the Draw Toolbar. 4. To change the thickness of your pen, select Width from the Draw Toolbar and choose your desired pen width Select the Full-Screen Annotate button on the Annotate Toolbar. An image of your screen is captured, and the Draw Toolbar appears (with extended buttons for annotation) Select a pen color on the Draw Toolbar or ActionBar and draw on the screen using your finger or stylus. Note: All drawing and editing features of Draw are available in Annotate Mode. Select the Shape Options icon on the Draw Toolbar. The Draw Toolbar displays shape choices. Draw remembers the last selected shape, pen width and color. Select your desired shape. Touch the screen and drag to create your shape, then release. 6. Select Move Options icon from the Draw Toolbar. To move multiple objects at the same time, select Multi-Move. To move a single object, select ObjectMove. Touch the screen to select and move objects. 7. Refer to Using Draw in Interactive Mode in the User Guide. 2. Launch Draw by simply touching the. When your annotation is complete, select the Return to Desktop button on the Draw Toolbar. Annotations are saved, and you are returned to the last active application. Repeat steps 3 6 to continue annotating. When you have finished annotating, select the Return to Draw button on the Draw Toolbar. Annotate uses Draw to save, print, and edit all saved annotations. Refer to Using Draw in Interactive Mode in the User Guide. Select a button on the ActionBar in the color you want to use. Using an Egan dry-erase marker of the same color, write and draw on the. Undo Redo Desktop Review In Draw Tool Options: Different for each tool The Draw Toolbar contains drawing and writing tools including: pen styles, highlighter, 300 custom colors, shapes, and text. Editing features include cut/paste, erase, and move. In Whiteboard or Interactive Mode, you can create multiple pages of notes in a workbook to save, print, , etc.
