2 VINYL WINDOWS PREMIUM VINYL WINDOW PLATFORM BRINGS NEW LEVEL OF INNOVATION Staying true to the visual appearance and the architectural correctness of the Premium line were top considerations. The outside carries the bold, clean lines, beveled sash, and regal draw of our Premium product family. The inside, however, has been engineered with performance in mind. To start, there are no weep holes in the frame. To further reduce the potential points for air and water infiltration, we expanded the use of continuous head and sill (CHS) construction in standard multiple configurations. CHS configurations also allow pairing the new direct set fixed unit with an operating casement within the same frame. We also increased the number of available sizes and configurations. The New Premium Vinyl Windows are available in quad unit sizes up to 144 x72. In addition, the New Premium Vinyl Casement is now available in Performance Grades +/-20, +/-35, and +/-50. Customers will appreciate that the new 1-1/8 glass triple Direct Set (interior) Casement (interior) glazing option meets the Department of Energy Most Efficient Program without the use of Krypton gas between panes. In addition, the Premium line now features a newly designed simulated sash bead profile to go with the direct-set glazing option. The nail fin and small portion behind the fin are now gray, a proof point of Mikron s EcoBlend. EcoBlend is an innovative extrusion process that optimizes waste by introducing pre-consumer colored vinyl back into the extrusion process to be utilized in an unseen portion of the window. The use of pre-consumer vinyl waste is not only a good business practice; it also keeps waste out of local landfills. The new Premium Vinyl platform will be the default attribute when ordering Premium Vinyl Casement and Awning windows. All existing orders will be fulfilled using the existing Premium profiles. 3 WOOD WINDOWS PATIO DOORS & PATIO DOORS NEW PREMIUM WOOD SWINGING PATIO DOOR SYSTEM Among the many new features, there are several that truly set this patio door apart from the rest. This article is intended to provide an overview of key components in this phase and future phases. First, the sill, frame and weather-strip systems have been completely redesigned. Thermally efficient fiberglass sill - directs water away from the door and prevents high winds and rain from entering with a ball check weep system. This sill requires no fasteners to be placed through it, thus, eliminating another source of water infiltration. The installation has been improved with the use of fasteners in the sill through a flange on the interior. This avoids the wet cavity and helps to reduce the risk of water damage in the system. Double weather-strip - Like automotive and refrigerator doors, there is continuous, double weather-strip on the new Premium Wood Swing Door panels. This prevents an air gap at the corners and makes the door easier to open and close. With adjustable hinges, you can obtain a perfect fit without using an adjustable sill. Frame - A continuous head and sill design, along with silicone injected corner keys in the frame, contribute to superior resistance to air and water infiltration. DP35 clad exterior is standard in phase one with DP50 and ADA options available Fall Next, this new door is available in a wider offering of heights and sizes than ever before, including both true and retrofit sizing. Multi-point concealed hardware is standard and provides smooth functionality with peace of mind that when the door is locked, it is securely engaged at multiple points. The standard bottom rail is 8-1/4in (optional 10in) while the top rail is 4-5/8in. Transoms are available and sidelights have the option of both fixed and operating styles.
