3 When I try to explain my experience, people do not understand unless they have been through it themselves. This journey is not simply walking, eating, talking, and sleeping. This is not a vacation. This is a life-changing experience that requires more out of you than what meets the eye. It took more out of me than what I thought I had. Elyse

4 This was a trip that was too good to pass up. The one thing that probably propelled me to apply was the sense of adventure. Being bored with school and looking for a way to make it interesting again. Shawn

As you progress on through Camino you learn things quickly. You learn what limits your body can handle as well as your mind. You learn what you should be equipped with and what you shouldn t be.

You learn what you should buy, if you should buy it, and what to just leave there even if it looks awesome or sweet. Some of these things I believe you can only learn through experiencing the Camino. 6 Staying in hostels or albergues was a great experience, waking up to so many different people, and cultures. I liked watching them and listening to the way they talked and went about their daily routine and I compared it to mine Bailey

7 I wondered if time would go by slow, or if it would go by fast because you re not paying attention to it. It soon became apparent that conversation never ran dry, and when it was quiet, it was because someone was thinking about things... I was really surprised by how fast time went while we were walking. There was always something to look at and consider. We saw some very old things, and it s amazing to contemplate these things, especially considering I am from a young country.. Jessie

8 Society tells you exactly who to be in this world, when to cry, how long to grieve, when to love, and when to do the normal things. Individualism is a rare and beautiful thing. I quit being who society wanted me to be since the Camino. I set out on this journey with a million and one questions in mind, praying to God that at least one might be answered. What I learned on the Camino was that I may not always have the answers in life, but I always have the power to make my decisions and the strength to endure the consequences no matter what they would be. In life, you must live, laugh, love, and learn. simple. It really is that Elyse

9 I think that the most interesting thing about the Camino was that no matter how much I prepared for it, it was everything I expected, but at the same time nothing like it. I knew that we would be walking every day. I knew about the sleeping and food situations. At the same time though, it s something you have to experience first-hand hand. It was everything I expected and more, but at the same time there were things about it that I never thought I d come across. Shawn

10 I can t describe how much I liked the mornings in Spain, it smelt like fresh rain and the grass was so green... Bailey

11 Part of the joy of the experience is in getting to the next destination. Walking twenty to thirty kilometers a day will point out that even though a person may be just walking, a lot can still be going on. You learn so much in the time from one place to another about yourself, your body, the people around you, the places you pass. Cody

I met a kid from Denmark who I really enjoyed walking with. I made friends with two women from Spain. We walked as a group all the way to my last destination, Logroño.

I don't really know how to explain this feeling. It is like having a pilgrim family I've never imagined that I'd fly across the world to meet strangers who I really enjoyed to stay with. Champ

I don t want to sound too cliché, but I think my favorite part about the Camino was the walking. It was nice to get out into the country side and walk next to all the green grass and lush trees.

Shawn I became accustomed to the fact that every destination takes some time to get there. I appreciated that about the Camino, actually. The Camino seemed to be about the actual journey, not the destination. I enjoyed not being in a hurry all the time. Jessie

14 I met three amazing friends, and I don t think that I will ever stop talking to them. The Camino is our bond together and nothing can break that. I believe a Camino friend is a lifelong friend. Brianna

15 I walked the wrong way and there was a guy driving, and he yelled something in Spanish and pointed to another direction. I knew right away that I was going the wrong way. I met an old lady on top of the mountain. She looked at me and she knew that I was really exhausted so she gave me some candies. She said something in Spanish which I didn't understand the whole thing but it sounded like she wished me for the good trip. It is really amazing how people help you out even thought they've never met you before. Champ

16 I think being here in America, I am not challenged enough... Everyday life here has become something that for me is boring and unexciting, and that is not to say I have not had a great life either. I have a great family and a wonderful support base here, but there is something missing in my life and I think that this trip has made me gutsier to look globally for that. Cody

I think the Camino is something that no one could understand without walking it. Brianna I set out on my first journey alone in this world to find something.

Little did I know, I was starting a journey to find myself. Elyse I enjoyed not having to worry about work and school, and things I stress over. All I had to worry about is waking up and walking, and not missing any yellow arrows. Bailey I have to admit that I am addicted to Camino. I love the way people live their lives there. It is really amazing how simple it is. Champ

18 Overall, I think the greatest thing this trip has inspired in me is a greater motivation to travel and understand of how the rest of the globe works. I still have a great deal to learn but this has been my awakening to global travel and life. Cody
