2 Università degli Studi di Padova As requested by our American colleagues and friends, the 10 th Congress of American and Italian Plastic Surgeons will take place in the two Italian cities. The scientific session will of course take place in Padova, renown all over the world for its leading research studies in Science and the Humanities. Among the most eminent professors coming from the University of Padova are just to mention a few Galileo Galilei, founder of the experimental method in scientific research, Andrea Vesalio and William Harvey especially known for their research on Human Anatomy. As for Venezia, the Queen of the sea for almost a Millennium is famous world-wide for both its natural beauties and for housing great masters among painters, sculpture artists and engineers. We hope that during the congress, our guests will be captivated and fascinated by the appeal of the two cities. Tour escorts will take you to visit the most important monuments and museums. Both inshore and sea travel will be carried out during the day - under a most wonderful sun - or at night - in the moonlight. i Scientific workshops will be carried out, as usual, in the same way of the previous Italian-American meetings. Ten hours of hard work have been planned during which each of us will focus on the issue of major interest for him/her. Twenty years have gone by since our first meeting; we were still young then! Now, some of us are getting older, myself for instance, and it is now time for a major turnover to take place. As it happened in New Orleans, new valuable young researchers on whom the Scientific Community and Civil Society rely on will be given the opportunity to become part of our community and come up with new ideas. Our commitment is to identify and introduce them to our group. A bilateral scientific committee will issue the final program organized in "Senior Category" and "New Entry Category" presentations. 3 The 10 th CONGRESS of American and Italian Plastic Surgeons pm pm WELCOME CEREMONY AULA MAGNA - PALAZZO BO The Aula Magna is the prestigious room where the Dean of the University, in gown, has been celebrating the opening of new academic years for the past eight centuries. Palazzo del Bo represents the Atheneum of Padova University, famous for its traditions and for the name of its crest: Bo means ox head. This place is also famous for its paintings pm WELCOME COCKTAIL SALA DELLA BASILICA - PALAZZO BO Old and New friends will meet over drinks and traditional appetizers, while in small groups we will visit the famous wooden Anatomic Theater where Anatomy was born. After that, we will visit the wooden desk from which Galileo Galilei taught Astronomy am pm OPENING SESSION IN PADUA ARCHIVIO ANTICO - PALAZZO BO The first session will open the Congress in Archivio Antico, in the Palazzo del Bo one of the oldest University buildings in Europe - where, since 1222, Andrea Vesalio, Fabrizio Acquapendente and Giovanni Battista Morgagni held lessons. The Archivio Antico is famous for its admirable old papyris and documents. The Congress site is 10' walking distance from the hotels, through the city center. (Information about submission and selection of abstracts is given on this program.) am PROGRAM FOR GUESTS - THE SHOE DISTRICT Departure from main entrance of Palazzo del Bo A tour of The Shoe District is planned, located along the Brenta river, between Palladio villas from the 18 th and 19 th centuries; this tour includes a visit to a Palladium villa and shopping tour to the manufacturers where the most beautiful shoes in the world are made. Scientific Program Social Program pm CAFE' PEDROCCHI - LUNCH Guests and delegates will have lunch at the historical Café Pedrocchi known as Café without Doors pm VISIT TO SCROVEGNI'S CHAPEL AND ST ANTHONY CATHEDRAL A visit to Scrovegni's Chapel (Giotto's paintings) and St Anthony Cathedral, is planned; St Anthony Cathedral is visited by thousands of pilgrims from all over the world every year pm ART DINNER PALAZZO DELLA RAGIONE The evening will end with an Art Dinner at Palazzo della Ragione, one of the largest suspended rooms in the world. Palazzo della Ragione was the old inquiry building since 1218.

In the garden of a country home a musical group will play for us a classical and modern music program. Gala dinner - black tie - will follow am DEPARTURE FOR VENICE We will drive you to your hotels in Venice pm LESSON ON ART The last session of the congress will take place from from pm to pm and will be dedicated to a lesson on art history relating to plastic surgery pm VENETIAN COCKTAIL We will take part to a special cocktail in a venetian house pm SPECIAL VENICE DINNER HOTEL MONACO - GRAN CANAL At pm, a special Venice Dinner will take place at Hotel Monaco on Gran Canal, with specialties of Italian cuisine. VENEZIA BOAT TOUR: MURANO, BURANO, TORCELLO. (Information about this Optional Tour is given on the attached program.)
