3 Welcome to Golden Trust Training Institute and Consultancy Dear Member, It gives us a great pleasure to present to you Golden Trust, its services and products. Golden Trust was established in October 2006 to provide a consultation services in the area of business, conferences and events management and public relations to both public and private sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain and other GCC countries. Our focus is on delivering business solutions that will impact organizational strategy and operations through the development of both people and organization. Golden Trust ultimate objective is to deliver management solutions that internationally recognized and locally implemented taken into consideration the local culture, rules and regulations and policies. In addition to business consultancy, Golden Trust management recognized the need for quality professional training so Golden Trust Institute for Training and Consultancy (GTIC) was established in April 2007 to provide professional and quality training in management, human capital, commerce and women development. GTIC provides public and corporate training as well as customized training that meet the specific needs of corporate clients and individuals. To ensure Golden Trust's presence in the region, the first branch was opened on May 2007 in Doha Qatar to provide business consultancy to both public and private organizations and to regionally contribute to the development of human capital and organizations. Curriculum and Courses GTIC offers management and commercial training and development programs which are workbased and taught by Instructors, lecturers and facilitators who have teaching as well as practical experience in the subject matter. We focus on developing skills, educating and training people in the area of human capital, leadership and management, commercial studies and women development and empowerment. GTIC curriculum is practical-based where it focuses on workplace knowledge, skills, issues, and problems. 5. Standards for the Instructors/ Lecturers We expect that Instructor/Lecturer should: Communicate clearly and precisely the course objectives and expectations during the learning process Present the course contents in an organized and effective manner placing the learner at the center of the learning process Motivate learners to participate in all activities and interact with each other to ensure high level of learning Lead the course delivery and control interaction with an aim to maximize the learning outcomes Provide a knowledge and skill base that are transferable to the workplace and results in improvement Be a role model that reflect our image in the market and communicate our quality standards Treat learners equally and with respect and attend to individual and group educational, training and developmental needs Submit course material and session plan to Training and Academic Affairs Manager one week prior the class session Update attendance sheet regularly Use the forms and templates provided by GT with the Instructor package 6. Professional Curriculum The duration of the CIC programs is 110 training hours. CIC courses consist of 12 modules, and every module requires 6 hours of training hours. A course syllabus which include course objectives, learning and teaching methodology, dates and times and general instruction, is provided to all learners Copyright 2009 Golden Trust Training Institute & Consultancy All Rights Reserved 5
6 Learning materials are available in the form of learner pack 7. Instructor Obligations Instructors, Lecturers and facilitators will be ready to discuss, respond to any of the learner's needs in order to ensure effective learning process Track student attendance every class Session plan should be prepared by the instructor indicating a brief summary of topics discussed for each session and distributed to the students with course material for every session All course material for students should be prepared according to Golden Trust template which is provided to all instructors 8. Teaching Methods and Quality Different course require different teaching techniques and learning styles. Our aim in GT is to project the best and high quality teaching style. Instructors must accept the presence of an evaluator from time to time to assess the teaching method and quality during the class session. Learners shall also have to complete evaluation forms about the course and instructor upon completion of the Midterm and Final Exam. 9. Language of Instruction English is the language of instruction at the Institute but some courses are run in both English and Arabic to meet the learners' needs and levels of competence Learners will set for an assessment test prior to attending CIC programs to ensure that they have the minimum prerequisite skills for enrollment 10. Attendance Student enrollment can be subjected to review if 25% of the classes is missed. Regular attendance of classes and participation remain a must. Instructors have to notify students of their absence rate and arrange counseling session with the Training and Academic Affairs Department. Instructors have to fill in the attendance sheet in every class, to ensure attendance of students and given to Training and Academic Affairs department by the end of every three modules. Circumstances may rise for instructors that would require class cancellation because of illness or business. Classes can be rescheduled or by having another facilitator take the session. 7 11. Books / Course Material Books shall be sent from the CIC to every student, but the obligation of the instructor is to work on the material in the CIC course to form a presentation to communicate the material to students. Presentations should be of high quality and reflect the information from the CIC course. 12. Handouts Presentation prepared by the instructor shall be printed to the students in the form of handouts. Hence, presentations should be sent prior the class session by two days to enable GT staff to print the course material for students. 13. Assessments / Examinations Assessments should be conducted on the completion of every module. Midterm is scheduled on the completion of Modules 1-6, End of Training on the completion of Modules 7-12, and a Final Exam for the whole course. Self assessments, Midterms, End of Training and Final Exam arrive from CIC with every student pack. Instructors must prepare students to answer exams up to CIC standards and requirements. Instructors are obliged to set the dates for these assessments upon the start of the course to enable students to review on time. 14. Course work, Assignments and Projects As part of the assessment process, learners may be required to submit coursework, assignments or projects. These must be submitted on time and as per instructions given by the instructor/ lecturer/ facilitator. Late submissions should be discussed with instructor/ lecturer/ facilitator and permission should be obtained as per Institute rules and regulations. 15. Examination Regulations A student CANNOT be awarded a Certificate or Diploma unless and until he or she has passed a Final Examination set by the Institute and held under Approved Invigilation. Approved Invigilation means that a CIC Examination must be held under true examination conditions supervised by an Invigilator (or Mentor or Proctor ) approved by the CIC; it is preferable that an Invigilator be independent of the Affiliated Organization. 8 Examination is of two hours duration, maximum for Diploma Examinations. The Institute supplies an Examination Booklet. The Student must write his or her name, address and Membership Number in spaces on the front page OR check that the details and spellings are correct if already stated; instructions and other important information are also printed. The Examination Questions are printed within, and there are also ruled pages on which the attempts at the Questions are to be written. Most Final Examination Papers offer a choice of Questions from amongst which the Student may select a stated number to attempt; instructions and guidance will be given on the Examination Booklet. A Student should read carefully ALL the Questions offered, and proceed as instructed. Assessments after the completion of each module shall take place and students are required to be committed to do the assessment on the specified date set by the instructor. Medical certificates are required to exempt a student from doing the assessment on a specified date. 16. Graduation and Certification Learner will be awarded 2 types of certification 1. A completion certificate that indicate learner successful completion of the course or program and this require a full attendance of a program or course of study. 2. An International professional Diploma in one of the area of study and this require the following: A final average of 70% Completion of all assignments 3. Grading structure and ranking are as follows: 50%-59% Pass 60%-64% High Pass 65%-74% Merit 75%-84% High Merit 85%-94% Distinction 95%-100% High Distinction 17. 9 Official transcript will be provided to each learner upon certification or graduation and will contain details grades and description 18. Appeals procedure Learner s appeal, if any, can be made in writing directly to the office of Administration of the Institute when: Published results of grades are suspect of containing arithmetical errors or other errors of facts.
