2 Welcome to BLC Since 1985 BLC has arranged school trips and academic visits, for students of all ages, so there s very little that we don t know about how to make your stay successful. As an English organisation, we propose the best prices because we don t pay intermediaries, commissions or independent local coordinators. It also means that we are directly responsible for all the services we provide. No excuses. We simply follow your instructions to ensure that your trip happens in exactly the way you imagined it.

By booking well in advance, you can also ensure a great price and the most convenient departure times. We can of course also propose alternative means of transport. Accommodation A warm and friendly host family is undoubtedly one of the keys to a successful trip. We take great care in selecting them and are totally responsible for the choices we make. Teachers and group leaders can choose to stay in a local hotel if they prefer. Full details will be given prior to booking. Visits & Excursions With over 30 years experience, there s very little that we don t know about the best places to visit in England. We can propose a schedule based on your preferences or we can follow your instructions to the letter. You retain total control of your project. Our role is to make it successful and problem free and to ensure that you get the best possible value for money.

6 Accommodation A good host family, is the key to a successful course. Your local organiser takes great care to select only families who provide a happy and comfortable home. Our procedures for selecting host family are your guarantee of satisfaction Each family is interviewed and their home fully inspected. The vast majority of our families have received students for many years but even those who have joined us more recently, are very aware of their role. We stay in regular contact with the families, to ensure that they maintain the high standards required. We also place great importance on the reports we receive from students concerning their host families. At the end of each course, we ask students to complete a questionnaire on every aspect of their stay in England. It is BLC policy that only the families who continue to receive the highest marks are retained for future students. The care that we take in selecting our families and maintaining the quality of the welcome they offer, is in itself a guarantee of satisfaction. The best way to quickly improve your English Living with an English family is the ideal complement to the programme of classes. By constant exposure to the language as it is spoken by the inhabitants of the country, you will constantly practise your newly acquired linguistic skills. This will help you to develop a rich and varied vocabulary and learn everyday idiomatic expressions, with surprising ease.

Continuous support before and during your trip Not all schools need the same type of support. Some are very independent, preferring to simply inform us of their requirements and conduct the visit themselves. Others want us to be closely involved in the planning process and participate with them in the programme of visits and excursions. We ll be as discrete or as involved as you want us to be. If you need 10 planning meetings, a presentation to parents and a full time guide for your visits, that s what we ll do. Should you prefer us to simply appear when summoned, that s fine too. Directly responsibility for every aspect of the service provided This is a small but very important point. BLC never delegates responsibility to independent local coordinators. So, for example, we know all of our host families personally. We know their profession, what their children study at school, the names of their pets and the colour of their kitchen. In short we have no excuses for not placing your students in wonderful host families.
