Victor tells us that he forgot about his family and friends after a few months. He would only write to Elizabeth early in his time at the university and would not tell her about most of what he was doing. He might tell her that he is happy and is working hard and that his professors are pleased with him, that he is studying chemistry and medicine, that he lives in the old part of the city and that in the evenings he reads in his library. ELEMENTARY LEVEL Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (b) The Monster is the creation of Frankenstein. It is ugly and vicious. It kills innocent people and does not care for their suffering so it is evil. But it never had a chance to be good. It wanted to be loved and live with people happily but was so awful to look at that no one would care for it. 8 Student s own answer. Students may guess that people have run away from the Monster in fright because he is big and ugly and does not look like a human being, that people have thrown things at him, refused to give him food, refused to speak to him, have set dogs on him or called the police, have tried to kill him, that no one has ever treated him with kindness. 5 Student s own answer.
