2 GENERAL INFORMATION: ZOLONE FLO, containing phosalone insecticide, is recommended for the control of a wide range of insect pests in deciduous fruit orchards. Follow provincial recommendations for local variations of pest incidence and timing of sprays. Up to three applications of ZOLONE FLO may be made during the season. Use an efficient spray machine which will give thorough coverage of the trees. PRECAUTIONS: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. ZOLONE FLO contains an organo-phosphorus insecticide which may be harmful if swallowed or absorbed through the skin. During mixing, loading, cleanup and repair activities, wear long-sleeve shirt, long pants, shoes plus socks, and chemical resistant gloves, and NIOSH-approved respiratory protection During airblast application Use a closed cab that provides both a physical barrier and respiratory protection (i.e dust/mist filtering and/or vapour/gas purification system) with other personal protective equipment (chemical-resistant coveralls, chemical-resistant gloves, chemical-resistant head gear and a respirator) immediately available for use in case of emergency (i.e., a broken package, spill, or equipment breakdown); or If a closed cab is not used, wear long pants, long-sleeved shirt, shoes plus socks, chemical resistant gloves, chemical-resistant headgear, and chemical resistant coveralls and NIOSH approved respiratory protection. All workers performing re-entry activities that involve significant contact with foliage or fruit must wear long pants, long-sleeved shirt, shoes plus socks and chemical resistant gloves for critical post-application activities performed within 14 days of application. During early re-entry, wash stations must be available for re-entry workers. Double notification is required (i.e., written notice on posted signs and verbal notification to those re-entering the field) for field workers indicating that the area has been treated with phosalone and that phosalone is a cholinesterase inhibitor. This should include a brief description of the signs and symptoms of cholinesterase inhibition and ways to minimize exposure. Do not enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during the restricted-entry interval (REI) of 14 days. Members of the general public involved in pick your own, U-pick or similar operations will not be permitted to enter a treated area for 30 days after application. Wash with soap and water after use and before eating or smoking. Wash contaminated clothing thoroughly after use. Avoid working in spray mist. Do not contaminate water supplies (rivers,

3 ponds, etc.). Avoid contamination of food or feed. ZOLONE FLO is classed as moderately toxic to bees and may be used around them if dosage, timing and method of application are correct. It should not be applied directly on bees whether in the field or at the colonies. DO NOT APPLY BY AIR. Apply only when the potential for drift to areas of human habitation or areas of human activity such as houses, cottages, schools and recreational areas is minimal. Take into consideration wind speed, wind direction, temperature, application equipment and sprayer settings. If this pest control product is to be used on a commodity that may be exported to the U.S. and you require information on acceptable residue levels in the U.S., contact or SYMPTOMS OF POISONING: Headache, weakness, tightness in the chest, blurred vision, non-reactive pinpoint pupils, salivation, sweating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps. FIRST AID: IN CASE OF POISONING, get medical attention or contact a poison control centre IMMEDIATELY and keep patient at rest. Take container, label or product name and Pest Control Product Registration Number with you when seeking medical attention. IF ON SKIN, OR CLOTHING, take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for minutes. Call a poison control centre or doctor for treatment advice. IF IN EYES, hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a poison control centre or doctor for treatment advice. IF SWALLOWED, call a poison control centre or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control centre or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION: This product is a cholinesterase inhibitor; atropine is antidotal. Medical personnel should contact STORAGE: Store product in a cool, dry place; do not freeze. DO NOT STORE AT TEMPERATURES ABOVE 35 C (such as a hot, closed shed in the summer). DISPOSAL: Do not reuse this container for any purpose. This is a recyclable container and is to be disposed of at a container collection site. Contact your local distributor/dealer or municipality for the location of the nearest collection site. Before taking the container to the collection site: 1. Triple- or pressure-rinse the empty container. Add the rinsings to the spray mixture in the tank.

4 2. Make the empty container unsuitable for further use. If there is no container collection site in your area, dispose of the container in accordance with provincial requirements. For information on the disposal of unused, unwanted product, contact the manufacturer or the provincial regulatory agency. Contact the manufacturer and the Provincial regulatory agency in case of a spill, and for cleanup of spills. NOTICE TO USER: This pest control product is to be used only in accordance with the directions on the label. It is an offense under the Pest Control Products Act to use this product in a way that is inconsistent with the directions on the label. The user assumes the risk to persons or property that arises from any such use of this product. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: COMPATIBILITY: ZOLONE FLO may be mixed in the spray tank with most horticultural products in common use; however, it must not be mixed with strongly alkaline materials such as Bordeaux mixture, lime sulphur, hydrated lime, etc. Apply all spray as soon as possible after mixing. RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT: For resistance management, this is a Group 1B insecticide. Any insect population may contain individuals naturally resistant to this product and other Group 1B insecticides. The resistant biotypes may dominate the insect population if these insecticides are used repeatedly in the same field. Other resistance mechanisms that are not linked to site of action, but specific for individual chemicals, such as enhanced metabolism, may also exist. Appropriate resistance management strategies should be followed. To delay insecticide resistance: Where possible, rotate the use of this product with different groups that control the same pests. Use tank mixtures with insecticides from a different group when such use is permitted. Insecticide use should be based on an integrated pest management (IPM) program that includes scouting and record keeping and considers cultural, biological, and other chemical control practices; Monitor treated pest populations for resistance development. Contact the local extension specialist or certified crop advisors for any additional pesticide resistance-management and IPM recommendations for the specific site and pest problems in the area. Applications of ZOLONE FLO made prebloom and again in a post-bloom cover spray will control this pest. Apply at calyx and first cover to control early brood. Later hatches may require an additional application days after petal fall. Use 900 ml/1000 L for severe infestations. The fruit must be well protected from early July to mid-august with up to a maximum of 3 sprays of ZOLONE FLO per season. Where troublesome, apply 1 spray of ZOLONE FLO before bloom and again at calyx. Apply at pink bud and again at calyx stages. Active stages of European red mite, twospotted spider mite and apple rust mite are suppressed by applications of ZOLONE FLO from calyx onwards. Apply up to a maximum of 3 applications of ZOLONE FLO per season. (Strains of mites resistant to organo-phosphates will not be controlled.) For heavy infestations, use a specific miticide. In Eastern Canada, ZOLONE FLO applied at calyx and in subsequent cover sprays up to a maximum of 3 applications per season will control the active stages of psylla. (Strains of psylla resistant to organophosphates will not be controlled.) In British Columbia where this pest is more difficult to control, consult the provincial RATE 900 ml-1.25 L/1000 L At least 3.0 L/ha spray calendars. ZOLONE FLO MAY BE APPLIED ON APPLES AND PEARS UP TO 30 DAYS BEFORE HARVEST.
