1 The North Bay Figure Skating Club is pleased to announce To be held at Memorial Gardens, 100 Chippewa St.,, North Bay Thursday, February 25 Sunday, February 28, 2016 Sanctioned by Skate Canada Northern Ontario Section The North Bay Figure Skating Club is pleased to host the 47 th annual Make it a Date to Skate Competition, which will be held in accordance with Skate Canada rules unless otherwise specified and is open to any amateur figure skater in good standing with Skate Canada. Skaters entering this event need to be aware it may be cancelled should there be insufficient ice time to accommodate the event. Should the event be cancelled, fees for only the cancelled event will be refunded.

2 RULES: Skate Canada rules will apply throughout the competition unless otherwise specified. Please refer to the following Skate Canada 2015/2016 Technical Packages for event registration eligibility: STARSkate competitions/ Competitive ca/articles/ Singles Free Program Requirements chart format Skaters may compete in the events as qualified by their test levels as follows: All STARSkate events/pre juvenile/juvenile: test passed as of November 15, 2015 Pre novice Senior: test passed as of October 1, 2015 Age requirement is as of July 1 st, Competitive Program requirements to be skated are those for SEASON as set out in the Skate Canada rule book. Skaters are permitted to skate up one level and may enter up to two levels of free skate events. Scheduling or placement within events will not be adjusted to accommodate for skaters entered into two or more events. Skaters will need to be prepared to skate all events as they are scheduled. Skaters may only register in one level of elements to avoid scheduling conflicts. Skaters who are registered as competitive for the 15/16 season may only register in a competitive free skate event but may also register in interpretive, element, and creative improvisation at the corresponding level. REGISTRATION: Registration for this event is an ONLINE SUBMISSION which must be completed in full in order for the entry to be accepted. The registration form may be accessed through the SCNO website or from the MIAD Tab on our website Ice Surface: 200 feet x 85 feet ENTRY DEADLINE: The online application will only be available until 4:00 pm on Friday, January 15, Completed club summary sheets with payment and supporting documents must be received by NBFSC by Friday January 29th, Incomplete/incorrect entry forms will be assessed and subject to an additional processing fee. This fee MUST be paid before the competition. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Technical Representative and will be subjected to a LATE FEE. REFUNDS and WITHDRAWALS: A full refund will be given for any cancelled category. If an entry is withdrawn prior to the entry deadline of Friday January 15, 2016, a refund less an administrative fee of 35 per skater will be granted. NO REFUNDS will be given for any other reason, after the deadline date.

3 ON SITE REGISTRATION: All competitors are required to register at least one hour prior to your event and must report to the Ice Captain shortly after arrival. If you are skating in the first event of the morning, please report to the Ice Captain ½ an hour before your scheduled event. All Coaches will be required to wear current Skate Canada Coaches identification that is clearly visible. PLANNED PROGRAM CONTENT SHEET: For all events that require submission of Planned Program Content (PPC) sheets (STAR 5 Free skate and above), all PPC sheets (both the Short and Free Program) must be submitted on separate forms for each event with the club summary sheets. Changes to PPC forms must be submitted to the Music Registration desk at the MIAD event at least 1 hour prior to your event. MUSIC: 1. REGISTRATION OF MUSIC: Music must be turned in at the time of registration. Skaters must register their OWN music. Music should not be registered by your coach. 2. MUSIC REQUIREMENTS: Each skater must provide 2 CD s for the competition upon registration. One for competition (marked MASTER ) and one for back up (marked COPY ). 3. Each CD shall be enclosed in its plastic container with skater s name, club and total music time. 4. All CD s will be registered and placed with the music committee at the time of competitors registration. All music should be picked up ½ hour after the event. MARKING SYSTEM: CPC JUDGING SYSTEM WILL BE USED FOR ALL EVENTS (except for STAR 1 elements, Star 2 4 free skate, all elements events and pre intro/intro interpretive)). Please refer to the SCNO Technical Package for event judging. Our judges and officials are selected from Skate Canada s Judges and Officials List. AWARDS: PLEASE refer to the Awards chart on the SCNO.net website under resources, hosting a competition, for ribbons and medals for STARSkate events. For all competitive events, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place standings will receive medals. All events are final. EVENT SCHEDULE: A schedule of events and groups will be posted as soon as possible after the closing date on the SCNO (Skate Canada Northern Ontario) website once it is finalized. CANCELLATION OF EVENTS: Entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis once all required information and fees have been received. Faxed or telephone entries will not be accepted. Events will be cancelled if only one skater has entered. Entry fees will be refunded if an event is cancelled. The Technical Representative and Host Committee may combine events where there are fewer than three entries or one event has insufficient entries to hold the event. The Host Committee reserves the rights to categorize groups and to limit the number of entries in any event. TESTING: Skaters may apply to be tested as they perform their Interpretive programs. A 20 non refundable administration fee applies plus a 10 test fee. Please complete the test application in this package as well sending the testing and summary sheets. Skate Canada deadlines for test requests and pulls will be strictly enforced.

4 ACCIDENTS/LIABILITY: Skate Canada North Ontario, The Clubs/Organizers of any competition, and the volunteer team undertake no responsibility for damages or injuries suffered by skaters. As a condition of and in consideration of their entries therein, all competitors and their parents, or guardians, share be deemed to agree to assume all risks or injuries to the competition s person and property resulting from, caused by, or connected with the conduct and management of the competitions and to release any and all claims they may have against the officials, the Association, the Section, the Clubs/Organizers, and the Volunteer Team holding the competition and against their officers, and their entries shall be accepted only on these conditions. Skaters must agree to the waiver for Liability, Publicity and Calculation of Results on the online application form to participate in the competition. There will be a 40 administration fee on any NSF cheques. Competitors with monies owing will not be permitted to skate until all outstanding monies have been paid. Event confirmations and schedules will NOT be mailed or ed. All groups and schedule information will be posted on the North Bay Figure Skating Club and Skate Canada Northern Ontario websites. It is the responsibility of the coaches, skaters and parents to ensure that their skater(s) is registered in the proper events. A flat administrative fee of 10 is being charged to each skater (included in the registration form), which enables us to provide an open event.
