Because of this, the demand for fast and accurate information is critical and the need for a global EDI solution has never been stronger. While technologies such as XML and Web services promise fast and cost-effective communications between systems and organizations, it is EDI that the vast majority of Automotive OEM s and suppliers use today and have used since the 1960 s. 4 Figure 1: TRUedx Interface Once connected to TRUedx, suppliers are able to send and receive EDI data to both EDI enabled trading partners and non-edi enabled suppliers. TRUedx supports the import and export of all EDI documents supported by JD Edwards EnterpriseOne DSE gateway including but not limited to 830 s, 850 s, 862 s, 810 s, 856 s, etc. Inbound data is received, compliance checked, data is translated into the required JD Edwards EnterpriseOne DSE format, corresponding acknowledgments are sent, and the translated data is delivered to your doorstep. Users have the ability to view and track data throughout the entire import process. They also have the ability to filter their respective inbound data by Date, Document Type, Partner, or Group. 5 JD Edwards EnterpriseOne DSE automates the import of the formatted data and interprets OEM demand through to cash applications. This integrated approach gives a clear picture of cumulative and/or net demand, allows for the immediate recognition of the impact fluctuations in demand create across the many departments within an organization, and ensures the integrity and accuracy of not only imported data that would be compromised if entered manually, but also the integrity of data on outbound ASN s and invoices. Data is then exported to TRUedx in order to be translated and compliance checked based on OEM requirements. End users have the ability to track the progress of the transaction by viewing the transactions in the sent box. They also have the ability to filter their respective data by Date, Document Type, Partner, or Group, Status, and Accept Code. Figure 3: TRUedx Sent Folder Tailor Inbound Demand Calculations Oracle s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Demand Scheduling Execution increases flexibility to define demand calculations that conform to OEM mandates while allowing suppliers to consolidate demand across different customers and products. Suppliers can spotlight historical trends in demand and also determine whether demand is beyond established tolerance levels. When the demand shown in a new schedule exceeds or falls short of the demand shown in the old schedule by more than the defined tolerance, the system automatically alerts the authorized user. 5

6 Increase Scheduling Accuracy JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Demand Scheduling Execution feeds information directly to your planning and sales order management processes. The system automatically determines whether the inbound demand reflects firm demand, transportation sequenced demand or planned demand. Firm demand and transportation-sequenced demand translates immediately into sales orders that document shipped quantities, date, and time. Transportation sequenced demand takes it one step further and ensures the shipment of goods will enter the customer s material handling process in your customer specified order (i.e. job number, sequence number). Planned demand quantities are factored into a forecast, allowing suppliers to spread demand to optimize inventory and service levels. Improve Reporting and Visibility The ability to manage information is just as important to a successful OEM-supplier relationship as timely delivery and quality shipments. The Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne DSE and Trubiquity solution provides this on two levels. TRUedx offers end users a straightforward, userdefined dashboard that provides real-time access and visibility into daily EDI activity. Suppliers can quickly and easily generate advanced ship notices (ASN) to inform customers of contents and packing details of upcoming shipments. Manage Performance TRUedx provides 24x7 support and continuous monitoring of all EDI activity (communication, data movement). Inherent to the TRUedx solution is an alert notification system that provides instant notification of events and/or non-events based on customers pre-defined business requirements. These alerts enable suppliers to respond to customers quickly and accurately. With the Oracle and Trubiquity solution, suppliers will receive real-time notification by , page or desktop banner all of which can be activated by self-defined parameters increasing control, user efficiency and insuring OEM compliance.
