3 Introduction Are your feet tired of being tortured in high heels or sore from endless running around? Are they looking like they have seen better days and you are wary of exposing them in sandals? Fear not, you are not alone here. Did you know that spent a little time pampering your feet, you will get your feet summer ready and happy in a short amount of time. A foot scrub is the perfect treatment to treat your tired and aching feet to. Pampering your feet does not need to cost you lots of money, in fact you could make foot scrubs from ingredients that you already have in your pantry at home. A foot scrub will help take away the dead skin, smooth out cracked and dry heels, help with calluses as well as sooth and rejuvenate your feet. Plus, you can use essential oils to refresh and rejuvenate your feet, especially if they are tired and sore from heels or walking around. A foot scrub made at home is easy to do, and there are so many beautiful natural ingredients that you can use. In this ebook, I have included many tried and proven foot scrub recipes that you will just love!
4 Utensils Needed To make a foot scrub, you will not need much at all in the way of utensils. All you need is a mixing bowl, a measuring cup for measure out ingredients, a stirrer to mix them all together and something to store your scrub in. If you are going to give the foot scrub away as a gift, you may wan to have cute jars (or something else to put the scrub in) and anything that you want to decorate it with (ribbon etc.).
5 Ingredients There are a lot of different ingredients that you can use and these recipes can be great as a guide. For the oils, don t limit yourself to the oil in the recipe if there is oil that you either like better, or that already is in your pantry. Your oil choices consist (but are not limited to): o Olive oil o Sweet almond oil o Coconut oil o Avocado oil o Jojoba oil o Sunflower oil o Vegetable oil o Peanut oil The abrasive components are also interchangeable. Most of these recipes use either sugar or sea salt but there is many other options that you can use instead. These options include: o Sea Salt o Sugar (brown or white) o Cornmeal o Ground oatmeal o Ground coffee
6 How to Use a Foot Scrub 1. Soak your feet in warm water for around 5 10 minutes or so to soften up the skin on your feet. 2. Take a small handful of foot scrub and start rubbing it in small circles on your feet concentrating on areas of dry callused skin. Do this for about 3 5 minutes per foot. 3. Rinse off the scrub but be careful that you don t slip in the shower or bath as the oil you use in the scrub can make it very slippery. 4. Dry your feet off with a towel. 5. If you wanted to intensively moisturise your feet, now would be a great time to put a moisturiser on and then cover your feet with socks. Leaving the socks on overnight is a great option as you will wake up to smooth and well moisturized feet! Recipes
7 There are many fantastic recipes to try and one of the most popular is a peppermint foot scrub. This is because peppermint is cooling and refreshing - perfect for feet! Here I have included a few different variations of the scrub as well as some really great ideas of other scrubs. Peppermint Foot Scrub Version 1 I cup of sugar (either brown or white) ½ cup Coconut oil drops Peppermint essential oil Pour the sugar into your mixing bowl and gradually add the coconut oil until the mixture form a paste which is slightly wet. You may need a little less than ½ cup depending on how you like your scrub. Add about drops of peppermint oil until you are happy with the strength. Peppermint Foot Scrub Version 2
8 This is a more intense scrub as it is using salt. Salt generally has got more abrasive granules than sugar and it great for really dry, cracked and callused feet. Using the vitamin e oil makes it extra nourishing. ½ cup sea salt 4 tsp. vitamin e oil ¼ cup olive oil drops of peppermint essential oil Pour the salt into a mixing bowl and then add the coconut oil until you have got a slightly wet paste. Add in the essential oils drop by drop until you are happy with the strength. Peppermint Foot Scrub Version 3 Using rosemary oil in this scrub helps with stimulating the brain, improving memory and mental clarity. It is also useful for helping with circulation especially with tired and swollen feet at the end of a hard day! ½ cup Dead Sea salt ¼ cup coconut oil 10 drops peppermint essential oil 10 drops rosemary essential oil In a small bowl, stir together the sea salt, vitamin e oil, and olive oil to form a slightly wet paste that you are happy with. Then stir in the peppermint essential oil adding it drop by drop until you are happy with the strength.
9 Peppermint Foot Scrub Version 4 This version includes the wonderful zingy zest of lemon which can be useful for circulation as well as awakening the senses. 1/2 cup coarse sea salt 1/4 cup sweet almond oil 2 tsp lemon zest (zest from 1 lemon) 8-10 drops peppermint essential oil Pour the salt into a mixing bowl and add the sweet almond oil slowly until you have got a desired paste. Then add the lemon zest and the peppermint oil. Peppermint Foot Scrub Version 5 Tea Tree Oil is known for its antiseptic, antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties which can make it a fantastic oil for including in a foot scrub. The ylang ylang has got a wonderful calming effect on the mind and body. 1 cup sea salt ½ cup sweet almond oil 5-10 drops peppermint essential oil 5 drops tea tree essential oil 2 drops ylang ylang essential oil
10 In a mixing bowl, pour in the salt and then add the sweet almond oil until you are happy with the consistency of the scrub. Add the essential oils until you are happy with the strength. Peppermint Foot Scrub Version 6 Adding eucalyptus oil is fantastic for helping to clear the mind and help boost circulation, especially in tired feet! 1 cup sea salt ½ cup coconut oil drops eucalyptus essential oil 8-10 drops peppermint essential oil In a mixing bowl, pour in the salt and then add the sweet almond oil until you find a good consistency of the scrub. Add the essential oils until you are happy with the strength.
11 Cinnamon Vanilla Foot Scrub This scrub is almost good enough to eat! 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar 1/2 Cup White Sugar ½ cup coconut oil 1 tsp ground Cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla essence In a mixing bowl, mix together the brown and white sugar plus the cinnamon. Then add the coconut oil slowly until you reach the desired consistency. Add the vanilla essence. Magnesium Foot Scrub Epsom salts are a great option for a foot scrub as they have got so many great benefits for tired and sore feet. By adding the lavender essential oil you will find the scrub relaxing as well as soothing. 1 cup Epsom salts ½ cup olive oil drops Lavender essential oil
12 Pour the Epsom salts into a mixing bowl, and then add the olive oil until you are happy with the scrub consistency. Add the lavender essential oil slowly until you are happy with the strength. Lavender and Eucalyptus Foot Scrub This foot scrub is both refreshing and relaxing. The eucalyptus is a wonderful refreshing addition. 1 cup Dead Sea salt ½ cup sweet almond oil 5 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil 5-10 drops lavender essential oil Pour the Dead Sea salt into a nixing bowl and then slowly add the oil until the scrub is a slightly wet paste. Add the essential oils last.
13 Fresh Strawberry Foot Scrub Strawberries make a wonderful addition to the simple foot scrub as they not only smell great, but they make it extra special. Be aware though as this scrub will not keep long. 1/2 cup Dead Sea salt 1/4 cup olive oil 10 Fresh strawberries Pour the salt into a mixing bowl; add the oil and the sliced strawberries. Then using a fork, mash the strawberries into the oil and salt. Lime Sugar Foot Scrub The lime in this scrub makes it wonderfully zingy. This is a lovely scrub to give as a gift as it looks fantastic. 3 Tablespoons brown sugar 3 tablespoons coconut oil 1 tablespoon grated lime zest Mix all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
14 Coffee Foot Scrub Ground coffee is a wonderful ingredient to add as it has got so many wonderful qualities. It is awesome for getting the blood circulating through tired feet, as well as a natural pick me up! ¼ cup ground coffee 2 Tablespoons coconut oil Mix together in a mixing bowl. Sugar and Cinnamon Foot Scrub Yum! ½ cup brown sugar ¼ cup olive oil 4 5 teaspoons of ground cinnamon Pour the brown sugar into a mixing bowl. Then add the cinnamon and stir. Add the olive oil slowly until you get a slightly wet paste which has got a nice consistency.
15 Brown Sugar, Oats and Honey Foot Scrub This is such a yummy scrub, wonderfully nourishing and smells awesome! Great for sensitive feet where you want a less abrasive scrub. This recipe can be made in smaller quantities just use a smaller ratio of the ingredients. ¼ cup brown sugar ¼ cup ground oats 3 tablespoons aloe vera 3 tablespoons honey 3 teaspoons fresh lemon juice 3 tablespoons sweet almond oil Put the ground oatmeal, brown sugar into a mixing bowl and mix together. Then add the aloe vera and honey mix in well. Then add the sweet almond oil slowly until you have got a slightly wet paste. You may need more or less oil to get the desired consistency.
16 Lavender and Coconut Oil Foot Scrub This is a must do scrub for tired feet and especially at the end of a hard day. The Epsom salts are great for releasing tension in the feet and the lavender is fantastic for relaxation. 1 cup Epsom salts ½ cup coconut oil drops of lavender essential oil Put the Epsom salts into a mixing bowl and add the coconut oil slowly until a slightly wet paste forms. Then add the lavender essential oil slowly until you are happy with the strength of the scent. Coffee and Salt Foot Scrub This scrub is great for awakening the sense with the lovely coffee aroma, as well as helping with circulation. ¼ cup ground coffee ¼ cup sea salt ¼ cup olive oil Put the ground coffee and cornmeal into a mixing bowl and mix. Add the olive oil slowly until you get a slightly wet paste that you are happy with as a scrub.
17 Almond and Honey Foot Scrub This foot scrub is beautiful and a lovely scrub to give as a gift. 4 tablespoons honey ¼ cup brown sugar 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 2 tablespoons ground almonds Juice of 1/2 lemon Put the brown sugar and ground almonds into a mixing bowl and mix well. Then add honey and mix. Slowly add the olive oil until you get a slightly wet paste for the scrub. You may need more or less than the quantity above. Lemon Mint Foot Scrub The lemon softens and brightens your dull-looking feet while the fresh Mint leaves are cooling and refreshes your tired feet. Note: you can swap the lemon with limes as a different version of this scrub. ¼ cup sugar 2 lemons 5 tablespoons sweet almond oil 30 fresh mint leave 5 10 drops lemon essential oil
18 Squeeze the lemon juice and put aside. Chop the mint leaves into small pieces and also put aside. In a mixing bowl, put the sugar, chopped mint leave and lemon juice and then mix well. Add the sweet almond oil slowly until you have got a slightly wet paste and are happy with the consistence. Add the lemon oil slowly until you are happy with the strength. Citrus Foot Scrub Juice from one lemon or lime 1/2 cup raw sugar 2 tablespoons coconut oil Mix the sugar and the lemon or lime juice together in a mixing bowl. Then add the coconut oil until you have got a slightly wet paste. Note: you may need more or less coconut oil depending on how much juice you got from your lemon or lime.
19 Ginger Orange Foot Scrub Ginger essential oil is a warming oil and is great for winter months. 1/2 cup sugar ¼ cup sweet almond oil drops orange essential oil 3 5 drops ginger essential oil In a mixing bowl, pour in the sugar and then add the sweet almond oil slowly until you have got a slightly wet paste. Add the orange and ginger essential oils slowly until you are happy with the strength of the scent. Rose and Fresh Mint Foot Scrub This foot scrub is beautiful and is great for gifts as the rose petals and fresh mint leave add something special. ½ cup sea salt About fresh mint leaves ¼ cup olive oil drops rose essential oil Rose petals In a mortar and pestle, grind up the fresh mint leaves and the rose petals to form a paste. Add this paste to a mixing bowl with the sea salt. Add the olive oil slowly until you get a slightly wet paste.
20 Grapefruit Sea Salt Foot Scrub This is a wonderfully refreshing yet nourishing foot scrub and the addition of grapefruit rind makes it look really great! ½ cup sea salt ¼ cup almond or coconut oil Grated rind of 1 2 grapefruits drops of Grapefruit essential Oil In a bowl, pour in the sea salt and then add the oil slowly until you get a slightly wet paste. Mix in the grapefruit rind. Add the grapefruit essential oil slowly until you are happy with the strength. Mint, Rosemary and Lavender Foot Scrub Using herbs is a wonderful way of making a foot scrub really something different and it goes really well as a gift. 1/2 cup sea salt ¼ cup almond oil 2 teaspoons dried rosemary (or two tablespoons freshly chopped rosemary) Handful of fresh mint leaves (chopped) drops lavender essential oil Put the salt in a mixing bowl and then add the oil slowly until you get a slightly wet paste.
21 Mix in the mint and rosemary, and then add the lavender essential oil slowly until you are happy with the strength.
