Titan Version 10 New Features Guide Cue Undo A New feature of V10 is the Undo History, when selected this window will appear and show the user up to 20 steps back. You can select ANY step here, bearing in mind that the programmer will undo every step up to that point. The only thing it will not undo is patching. The Undo History is particularly useful to use for example, when you create a look in the programmer ready to record and accidently clear it. The undo history will be able to go back a step and bring the look back. A quick way to undo a step is to press and hold the Avolites logo key, then back. You can also re-do up to 20 steps, by holding the Avolites logo button and then
Re-sizing Workspace Windows Workspaces can now be re-sized to allow more than 4 on the screen. This allows you to have more flexibility with the layout of their workspaces. To re-size the windows, tap on the next to the x. Here you will have the option to re-size the window by selecting anywhere on the screen, or selecting the corners of the window. You can change the options on the root menu to re-size the neighbouring windows. If it s on, this will allow the windows next to the one you are trying to re size, to move accordingly. You also have the option to edit not just one but all windows as the diagram shows below:
Quick DMX Setup Lines When assigning your DMX lines, you now have the option to input the number of lines required for your show, instead of individually selecting each node to the DMX line. To do this, go into the DMX settings and select the node you want to assign. Select line 1 and a window will appear where you can type in the number of lines you would like to assign those nodes to. Halos Halos are another new feature to V10, which visually show you the fixtures related to the relevant groups. You can turn the Halos on, before patching fixtures, which will then display the colour of the fixture. This is useful if there are many fixtures of a particular type or group. Halos are used for fixtures, groups and palettes. To assign a Halo to a fixture, group, or palette on the softkeys you go to Set Legend then select the fixture or group. An option will appear in the softkeys menu called Halo.
You can select a colour of your choice here. Once selected, the fixtures panel will show the Halo colour you choose. You can do this with your groups as well and have them as the same colour. Playback Options The playback options for V10 have been improved for ease of use, because all of the functions are now in sub menus, which looks tidier and is easier to navigate. The playback sub menu includes functions such as blind mode, fade modes and shape behaviour. The Handles sub menu includes handle paging and key profile. The Fader sub menu includes shapes and effects and shape size functions as well as others. The Effects sub menu includes functions related to masters such as speed, size and shape sources. The Release sub menus have functions for releasing such as mask and release times.
Playback View When in playback view, you can now filter the functions and then record them. This is useful if you wish to have different playback views to show various functions such as times, move in dark or even shapes. When using a cue list, go to Playback Options select the cue list and the playback view window will appear. On the right hand side of the screen there will be a tab called Edit Columns. Select this and you will be able to deselect any function you wish you remove from your playback view. To record this, press Record and then Add (this will appear in dotted lines at the bottom of your playback view window). You have the option to then legend your new playback view. Fixture Intensity View/Grid This new feature is targeted mainly towards theatre lighting designers and operators. The intensity view is located in Open Workspace Window, which will display the intensity values for all fixtures. It s useful for viewing and changing the intensity of fixtures quickly and easily.
User Settings User settings have been improved for V10. You can import user settings and view it in a more user friendly window. This window shows the options available, including importing a user and adding a new user. You can also import a user via the Show Library. To add a new user, hold the Avo key and select User Settings from the softkey menu. You will have the option to press Add user. Here you can enter a user name and then select from the softkeys menu OK. You can change the functions your user has access to by selecting from the menu on the left. As an example, when you are doing a multi user set up, you can import a user in the show library, via the user settings.
Cue List Time Loading Progress You can now view the progress of your cue times in your cue list, in the Playback View window. This display makes it easier to programme and also operate for the user. Shape Tracking in Cue Lists When creating a cue list that includes shapes, the shapes automatically track and follow the normal tracking rules. The Playback View shows where they are blocked and tracked. Here you have the option to block the shapes, preventing it from tracking to the next cue. Once you have created a cue list with a shape, double tap the cue list or press Open view then press your cue list and your playback view will appear. This will show your cue list and you can scroll to find the header View Shape, which will show the shapes in your cues. There will be an option underneath your cue with your shape, to toggle on or off, allowing you to track or block that shape. A new type of tracking can be used in V10 for a cue in a cue list called Block Shape. This allows a cue to play, but will block any shape in it. The option can be found when selecting Tracking in your cue list.
Fixture Window Auto Open When editing the order of your fixtures, in a group or cue, the programmer will automatically open the Fixtures window for you to edit. This is instead of having to go into it manually. Snap Through Cues in a Chase or Cue List Instead of relying on Go to have the manual control of your cues in a cue lists, there is the option to now snap from one cue to another (ignoring any fade times etc). To enable this, go to your User Settings by holding AVO and then Disk. Under the first filter tab General you can turn the Chase Snap and Cue List Snap. This will enable you to use the buttons Prev Step and Next Step to snap from one cue to the next, ignoring all times. Pixel Mapping Motion Blur Motion Blur is a new animation for pixel mapping, creating the effect of a blurred moving image. This is applied to every layer in a pixel mapper. This advantage can help create softer edges for the look you are creating and more choice for animations. Shape Direction Some new directions have been added to V10, which can be used in Keyframe shapes and shape generator.
Live Shape Editing There is now the option to edit a shape live, which is useful while busking. To do this you fire the cue, press Connect Cue then Shape and the shapes along with their cue number will appear in the soft keys menu. Select the shape you want to edit, press enter and this will be brought back into the programmer. You will then have the options to edit your shape there. Size Masters A size master is used to control one or more playbacks with shapes, by increasing or decreasing the size of that shape. Using existing cues, you can create a size master by pressing Record, soft key E Create Master and select Size Master. Select the master then assign it to a free fader. You can create a grand size master or a size master, with the ability to be able to create up to 4. The last step is to assign your cue to the size master. To do this, go into the playback options in your soft keys and select your cue. Go to Effects then Size Source and select the correct master. Now you can fire your cue and size master to increase or decrease the size of your shape. Internal Capture Visualizer
A brand new intergrated visualiser has been built to help make programming easier. We worked with Capture to allow you to import and export Capture showfiles for easier, on the go preprogramming. To access the visualiser and visualiser settings, use the softkeys to go to Open Workspace Window and select Capture Visualiser and Capture Visualiser Settings. Capture Visualiser Settings: When you patch a new show, the fixtures will appear in your visualiser in a line. The movement of the fixtures is shown in the Capture window. You have the ability to change position and can do so by using the x y and z values that are assigned to each wheel. For specific values try selecting the value you wish to change, type in the value and press enter. This can be done using the Scale-fan and Position- Orientation options, which are in your context window on the right. Show If you have created a show already on Capture, then you can save the Capture file onto a USB memory stick, plug it into the console or laptop and import your file to view in the internal Capture visualiser. To do this you need to go into the Capture settings and to the Show tab where you can select the file you wish to use. Cameras There are different camera angles to choose from, which can make it clearer to view the visualiser. Here, you have the ability to use Quad View Mode, which will allow you to view your show from 4 different angles. There are other options such as rotating and orbiting the camera around your look.
Stage Under the Stage tab in the Capture Visualiser Settings you can import certain box elements into your show. Appearance Here you can customise how the visualiser display is viewed. Filters such as the ambient lighting and rendering settings can be changed for you to be able to get the best and clearest visualiser view possible. Switching Software A great feature has been added to your tools at the top left corner, and it enables you to switch your software version. This saves you having to uninstall and reinstall software if the need arises and you can store previous versions of Titan.
Locate/Highlight Orientation A helpful feature has been added to the Edit Layout function for fixtures with 4 or more cells. This window will show you the output using colours, the top left and the bottom right of each cell in that fixture. The green being the top and the red being the bottom. You can also highlight the fixtures whilst in this window also. Blind to Live You can fade the contents of your blind programming to the output, which can be done by specifying the time. To do this, press Blind and then create your look. Once you ve done it, using the syntax type in the fade in time value (in seconds), then press Blind again to execute. You will come out of blind mode and it will show your look with the fade in time you used.
DMX Output Window The DMX output window has some added features and will allow you to view your DMX information via fixture type, similarly to channel grid. This allows for quicker access when finding DMX information. Multiple Fixture Mapping in Import When importing fixtures from other showfiles, there is now an option to map and import fixtures more than once. To do this to an empty show, go to Disk Load Show and select the showfile you wish to import from and select Import. This will view the show library window. You can select the fixtures here that you wish to map to. Snapping Cues for Chases and Cue Lists You now have the option to snap from one cue to another in a cue list or chase, without having to use the Go button. This enables you to have more control by being able to select any cue you would like to play and ignoring any times that are applied. To do this, go into the user settings and under the General tab, toggle the Chase Snap and Cue List Snap on. You will now be able to use the Next Step and Previous Step buttons to snap between cues.
