This guide is designed to help you understand the step-by-step activities that need to be accomplished in preparation for activating your services. You will have an AT&T single point of contact who will introduce you to the specialist(s) that will help you understand the technical requirements for each component ordered. Your single point of contact will work with you to coordinate the installation of all the services, advise you of critical dates and confirm next steps. 2 AT&T Virtual Private Network Express Getting started You ll be ed a letter with important information that you will need during installation, including details about the service you ordered and your single point of contact Ethernet only: AT&T engineering will call to discuss any sites in AT&T s territory and arrange a meeting, if needed Please assure your assigned on-site contact person for each location is aware of their role as the location s representative to AT&T s installation teams (This is really important!) We will contact you to discuss and review your order(s), set up meetings and clarify any technical questions about your site(s) Preparing for your service If needed, you should start site build out as soon as possible so that the site is ready for installation. For details: See page 4 If vendors or technical people will be assisting you with site build out or installation, it is beneficial for them to join any of your discussions with AT&T Space on the relay racks for the equipment is required, please verify in advance Installing your service If you ordered the AT&T VPN Managed option AT&T installs required equipment at your location(s) Wireless Back up If applicable, your Wireless Backup will be activated after the VPN service is installed Beginning your installation We will advise you of critical dates, including your estimated due date and confirm next steps with you until installation is complete Your on-site representative will receive up to three shipments of equipment; they will need to be stored in a safe place. The AT&T technician will install this equipment Activating your service Depending on services ordered, a final installation conference call is conducted to activate your service at each location If a coordinated activation is planned, your site contact will need to be at the premises and available to participate AT&T Intellectual Property. 3 AT&T Voice over IP Getting started Preparing for your service Beginning your installation Please confirm the complete list of telephone numbers you want moved to AT&T IP Flexible Reach service If you identify numbers that should not be ported, please notify your Sales Consultant as soon as possible Invite all technical vendors and local on-site contacts to the technical interview call to make sure we get accurate details for your order Delays in completing the technical questionnaire may result in delays in service delivery AT&T suggests your voice equipment (PBX) needs to be installed 15-days prior to the scheduled IP Flexible Reach due date Any AT&T equipment received must be available for the AT&T installer IP Voice services will be activated after your VPN service is installed; your single point of contact will coordinate the dates with you Your site contact will need to participate in the final testing of your service During testing and final installation, you will lose service for approximately 1 hour You will receive your assigned IP addresses prior to your due date you will use this to program your router. 4 Ethernet site preparation guide AT&T will perform with your permission: Customer will perform the following: An AT&T engineer will explain to your site contact all customer responsibilities shown on this page The engineer will reach out to the site contact within 48 hours of your order to schedule a visit If you are eligible for the entrance facility offer*, AT&T will complete items 2-5 on this list. 7 AT&T Network Based Firewall Getting started Ordering your service Preparing for your service Before we get started, we need you to verify that your internal business applications are compatible Your AT&T account team can direct you to some tools to help you assess compatibility We are going to gather written technical data from you in order to provision everything correctly. You ll us the final version of the technical data. This is critically important! Your participation in this step is extremely important to allow us to deliver the service in a timely manner Our team will stay connected as your other services are getting installed You are responsible for designing the test and acceptance criteria. This involves identification of the business-critical applications and users that can confirm the functionality of the new services. You are also responsible for coordinating the test day efforts of your company s subject matter experts who will be required to execute and validate tests for each application and in each of your company locations Once we have all the details, the target interval is estimated at 25 business days based on the complexity of your order After your firewall policy is in place, we will initiate the test and turn-up process An AT&T network engineer will confirm the required routes and protocols are functional You ll participate and coordinate in testing to verify everything is working properly AT&T Intellectual Property. 8 AT&T Mobile Remote Access Service Getting started Ordering your service Preparing for your service Before we get started, our ordering team will confirm that you want to move forward with the remote access implementation Good news! We can start the provisioning concurrent with the delivery of your AVPN service. As soon as we have the information we need from your AVPN order, we ll contact you You ll need to assign an internal IT administrator to manage your internal users We ll work with you to gather technical data in order to provision everything correctly. This is critically important! Our team will stay connected as your other services are being installed Your internal administrator is responsible for providing the information required to complete connectivity to the MPLS. Our team will send you a technical questionnaire for the following information: User IDs for each user Passwords - you can provide or we will assign random passwords IP addresses, etc. We ll coordinate the provisioning of your Mobile Remote Access Service with the installation of you AT&T VPN service, based on the timeliness of the technical information After we complete the provisioning, we ll send you a guide to help you set up your users, as well as test and confirm the service is working as expected The provisioning team is available to help you with coordinated testing, if needed AT&T Intellectual Property.
