7 How symptoms occur Diseased grapevines show stunted growth, less Vigour, millerandage and low quality of berries

13 What causes??? Different ideas: 1. Insects bites 2. Mites 3. Direct damage from nematode 4. Boron or microelements deficiency 5. Phytoplasmosis 6. Virosis VIROSIS

14 But Why virus? 62 Viruses recorded in grapevine!!!! Only a few induce pathological conditions relevant from an economic point in all wine-growing areas of the world

15 Outcome A metagenomic approach discovered a new grapevine trichovirus which is named Grapevine Pinot Gris virus (GPGV) (Gianpietruzzi et al., 2012)
