1 Configuring the NET-PLV-200AV-PEWN Before configuring the wireless Homeplug it s worth finding out the IP address of your router so you can assign the Homeplug an IP address to suit your network. This will allow you to easily connect to the Homeplug in future. To do this you will need to use a computer which is currently connected to the internet. For a Windows PC click on the start button and go to All Programs>Accessories and click on Command Prompt. At the flashing cursor type ipconfig and press enter, you should see a screen like this:- The Default Gateway is the address of your router, make a note of this for later. To find it on a Mac go to System preferences and click on Network, in the box that opens you should see a list of connections on the left, click on the one that says connected and a further window will appear showing the router address. Now to configure the Homeplug. Connect a computer with an ethernet cable into the LAN port of the Homeplug. Make sure you have no other Homeplugs plugged into your mains. Switch on the Homeplug and allow it a couple of minutes for it to be fully booted up. Open your web browser and in the address bar type in A page should open asking for a username and password. Enter admin for the username and admin for the password, you should then see a screen like this:-

2 Click on Network at the top. You ll see this:- Now tick the box Enable access point mode click OK to confirm. The screen will change slightly. Now click on WLAN SETTINGS in the column on the left, this screen will appear:-

3 Wireless Settings Here you can change the wireless settings. In the Radio Settings change the country code to Ireland (same as UK). UK should be added with a firmware upgrade in the future. In the Wireless Settings you can change the SSID (the name that shows up when you look for wireless networks on your computer) to one of your own preference or leave as it is. If you have more than one wireless Homeplugs I d recommend giving them different SSIDs. Wireless Security mode Here you can set your wireless password, in the Network Authentication select the security of your choice (I recommend WPA2-PSK). Then enter your password in the WPA Passphrase Key box (Between 8 and 64 characters). This is the password you enter in your computer when you connect wirelessly. See example below:-

4 Now at the top of the page click on the SAVE button to save the settings. Lan settings Now click on Lan Settings in the left hand column. Now you can change the IP address to suit your network, if your router IP address (the number you made a note of earlier) was then change the IP address in the box to Some examples:- The IP address you noted ` Enter in Router IP address box If you have more than 1 wireless Homeplug then make the second xxx.xxx.xxx.121 and the third xxx.xxx.xxx.122 and so on. If you need to access these settings again you ll have to enter the new IP address you ve set in your browser s address bar.

5 DHCP Server Configuration In this section it is vital that Enable DHCP Server is set to no, setting to yes would stop any connected computers accessing the internet. Now back to the top of the page and click on the save button and you ve finished. You can now connect an ordinary Homeplug to your router and start using your wireless Homeplug.
