These yarns do not need chemical treatment. The flame protection is built-in, so it cannot be washed or worn away. In a crisis situation, they create a protective barrier between the heat source and the wearer s skin reducing burn injuries to a minimum and buying precious minutes of protection. 4 6 7 INHERENTLY FLAME RESISTANT FABRICS When you re looking for superior quality, comfort and protection all-in-one the Pionér range of jackets, trousers and coveralls are reassuringly made with inherently flame and high-temperature resistant fabrics. DuPont NOMEX is an innovative meta-aramid fibre yarn non-combustible in air. It will not melt or drip. And if it is exposed to intense heat, the fabric carbonises and thickens leaving the wearer protected by a virtually impenetrable barrier. What s more, NOMEX brand fibre cannot be washed or worn away; as proved by durability tests which showed no deterioration of performance or durability (fabric strength, dimensional stability, and appearance) even after 200 washes*. NO CHEMICALS USED ADVANCED POLYMERS Protal is the new high performance Protex fibre and is intimately blended with long-staple combed cotton without any chemical treatment giving Protal its unparalleled soft, natural touch and appearance. The balanced blend of fibres allows the resulting fabrics to have highly effective moisture management properties.
