4 What is Adobe Flex? It s a software development kit released by Adobe Systems for the development and deployment of cross-platform rich Internet applications based on the Adobe Flash platform.

5 Adobe Flex current version: 4.1, released June 30, 2010 license: Mozilla Public License programming: MXML + ActionScript application in a Web browser with the Flash Player plugin or standalone desktop application with the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR)

6 MXML XML-based user interface markup language introduced by Macromedia in March 2004 used mainly to declaratively lay out the interface of applications

7 ActionScript scripting language originally developed by Macromedia initially designed for controlling simple 2D vector animations used primarily for the development of websites and software targeting the Adobe Flash Player platform basic syntax is derived from ECMAScript current version: 3.0, released June 2006, object oriented programming language
