1 Overview The 6-Port SATA RAID Controller is a 64-bit, 66-MHz PCI array controller for entry level hardware-based fault tolerance. Utilizing the 6 internal Serial ATA ports of the SATA RAID Controller allows you to configure up to 6 internal hard drives to store up to 1.50 TB of storage. 2 Standard Features Key Features 64-MB memory optimizes performance and data throughput, for RAID and read cache SATA technology delivers data bandwidth up to 1.5 Gb/s bandwidth per port 6 SATA ports supports up to six SATA hard drives Hot-plug drive and LED support (with supporting server infrastructure) Online capacity expansion HP Storage Manager: Online GUI based controller management and configuration Ports 6 Ports for internal hard drives, supports up to a maximum of 1.50 TB (6 x 250 GB 1" SATA HDD) Cache Memory 64MB for RAID and Read Memory RAID Levels 0, 1, 1+0, 5 Bus Type 64-bit, 66 MHz PCI Fault Prevention Keeps data available and server running while a failed drive is being replaced; several fault tolerance configurations are supported including: Distributed Data Guarding (RAID 5): This allocates parity data across multiple drives and allows simultaneous write operations. It is recommended for up to 6 hard drives. Drive Mirroring (RAID 1, 1+0): This allocates half of the drive array to data and half to mirrored data, providing two copies of every file. Drive Migration and Roaming: This feature ensures that the system can identify the data on a drive and insert it appropriately into an array in the event that the drives are inserted incorrectly. Capacity Given the internal server storage need for low cost capacity expansion, the 6-port SATA RAID controller offers: Six SATA ports supporting up to 6 internal disk drives Up to 1.50 TB of storage per PCI slot Online capacity expansion RAID Level Migration to increase the size of an array Performance SATA 1.5 Gb/s per port High-performance 64-bit architecture Controller Management RAID configuration through a ROM based utility accessible during Server startup.
