1 EFT Session 3: Sadness, Shame, Guilt and Apathy Every thought creates a vibrational field that continues to perpetuate our experience. Certain emotions such as sadness, apathy, guilt and shame actually create a negative spiral that is so toxic that it not only serves as a sort of relationship repellant, but it can also cause depression, cancer, injuries and ultimately untimely death. With EFT we can cleanse our emotional field of this toxicity and heal on multiple levels. Assume that somewhere in you emotional storage, you have feelings of shame, guilt, apathy and sadness. EFTing on assumptions will allow you to clear the most negative that are vibrating and attracting subconsciously in your experience. These emotions are usually so painful, that we prefer not to experience them at all. We push them aside and pretend as though they do not exist. This can be like a subtle toxic fume! It may not be apparent that your shame is affecting your relationship. However, because these emotions are so toxic and just barely above death on the Map of Consciousness, they are akin to the faint deadly fume of gasoline. It may not be apparent that we are in immediate danger, but strike a match and see what goes up instantly. We know we have shame, guilt, apathy, and sadness when we are easily triggered, or when we feel an overall sense of disconnection, despondency, despair or depression. Depression, in particular, is very often a manifestation of one or more unresolved emotional issues. When you assume you have other emotions and address those, it is possible that the depression will subside as well. The best way to get in there and release limiting beliefs surrounding these emotions, is to attempt to remember the stories of your past that have created these emotions.

2 Exercise: EFT Session 3: Sadness, Shame, Guilt and Apathy Answer the following to discover the specific event where you made the limiting decision that is creating the feelings of Sadness, Shame, Guilt or Apathy. 1 - When in your past do you recall feeling ashamed? (Make a bullet list of any past event where you felt this limiting belief/negative emotion.) When in your past do you recall feeling guilt? When in your past do you recall feeling apathetic, in despair, hopeless? When in your past do you recall feeling sad? 2 What was the first time when you had each of these feelings? Do you remember events that make you feel ashamed? Do you remember events that make you feel guilt? Do you remember events that make you feel sad? Do you remember when you wished you could just give up (apathy) or when you finally did just give up? (Write down the events.)

3 3 - Do the necessary general limitation rounds of EFT: Shame: Even though I feel ashamed about (ad-lib here, as inspired) because I deeply and completely love, accept and forgive myself. Reminder Phrase: This shame. Guilt: Even though I feel guilt (ad-lib). I deeply and completely love and accept myself. Apathy: Even though I feel hopeless, apathetic, despair (ad-lib) I deeply and completely love and accept myself. Sadness: Even though I feel really sad (ad-lib) I deeply and completely love and accept myself. 4 - Subsequent EFT Rounds on shame, guilt, despair and apathy, and sadness: Do one round of EFT for each of the following that applies to you. Occasionally, I will repeat suggestions. I also encourage you to review and double check each previous session s suggestions. You may have not felt connected to the limiting belief the first time, but as you clear layers of limitations, you may find that it now rings true for you. Even though Suggestions: Fill in with YOUR limiting beliefs about yourself.

4 I feel ashamed because I m old and alone. I feel ashamed because I ve failed so many times. I feel ashamed about being unlovable (not worth loving, untouchable). I feel ashamed about being so unlucky. I feel guilt over my mistake (describe mistake). I feel guilt because of this tragedy. I feel deep regret about I feel despondent about I feel hopeless about I feel condemned to a life of being alone I feel unlucky in love I don t feel like trying any longer I feel really sad about I feel sad because I m unwilling to take action I feel desperate but I won t do anything about it

5 I feel like I ll always be rejected. Now try implanting some positive statements: I choose to be courageous and bold. I choose to permit myself to do what must be done. I choose to accept empowerment. I choose to release any and all negative emotions and move forward with ease. I am willing to forgive myself. I am willing to forgive I am willing to stop beating myself up. I am willing to let the past stay in the past. I am willing to trust in the Divine. I am willing to trust myself. I accept that all is well and I ve done the best that I could. I choose to be hopeful. I choose to be intentional and full of joy. I choose to accept myself. I choose to be satisfied with who I am. I choose to be satisfied with my life and my choices. I choose to be optimistic. Write your own:
