3 Introduction The Bustream SC12SP is a HDMI 4K spitter with an in-buit scaer, designed for instaations in which a singe 4K video source needs to be distributed to mutipe dispays that support different maximum video resoutions. The SC12SP aows those dispays ony capabe of supporting ower video resoutions to receive scaed 4K content whie sti showing maximum origina 4K UHD resoution on the higher-definition dispay. The SC12SP supports down-scaing of 4K video to various ower resoution video formats. The SC12SP wi aso up-scae ower video resoutions up to 1080P and incudes audio breakout, advanced EDID management and supports HDCP 2.2. 5 EDID Management EDID (Extended Dispay Identification Data) is a data structure that is used between a dispay and a source. This data is used by the source to find out what audio and video resoutions are supported by the dispay then from this information the source wi determine what the best resoution is to output. Whie the objective of EDID is to make connecting a digita dispay to a source a simpe pug and pay procedure issues do arise when mutipe dispays or video matrix switching is introduced because of the increased number of variabes. The SC12SP wi act as an end point in the HDMI signa path. Using the EDID dip-switches pre-determins the video resoution and audio format of the source regardess of the video output resoution that the SC12SP scaes to. To change the EDID settings move the EDID dip-switches as required on the front pane of the unit. Pease see adjacent tabe for settings. Instaing the SC12SP wi aow those dispays ony capabe of supporting ower video resoutions to receive scaed 4K video (via HDMI output 1) whie sti showing maximum origina 4K resoution on the higher-definition dispays (via HDMI output 2) Using the EDID settings (as above) the source can be instructed to output a 4K 30Hz signa (or ower format if required). The SC12SP wi scae the HDMI input signa to a seected output resoution on HDMI output 1 using the RESOLUTION dip-switches on the front pane. The SC12SP wi continue to pass-through the origina 4K 30Hz video signa onto HDMI output 2 without any scaing. Pease see adjacent tabe for settings. The SC12SP can aso up-scae a ower resoution video HDMI input signa to a higher output video resoution. The same procedure is used as above for setting the input signa type using the EDID dip-switches, and then changing the output video resoution using the RESOLUTION dip-switches.
