Clean photometer as needed. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.1 Manufacturer A. Swan Analytical, Hinwill, Switzerland 1. Swan AMI Trides Chlorine Analyzer, Free Chlorine Residual 2.2 Manufactured Unit A. The Trides Chlorine analyzer consists of a measurement cell, transmitter/controller, three electrode design and is shipped completely mounted on PVC panel with electrical and plumbing connections. 2.3 Equipment A. The chlorine of the influent/effluent shall be measured by a SWAN Analytical Bulletin A2611 AMI TRIDES complete reagent free chlorine monitoring system. The chlorine monitor shall operate on VAC or 24 VDC incoming power and shall provide two 0 to 20/4 to 20mA signal outputs. An optional third analog output shall be available. B. The chlorine monitoring system shall not include membranes or electrolytic solutions. It shall be truly reagent free. Periodic replacement of electrolytes and membranes is unacceptable. C. The chlorine monitoring system shall be able to measure free chlorine, chlorine dioxide, bromine, iodine, ozone, flow rate, ph and temperature. These multiple measurements shall be made with one instrument. Multiple analyzers shall NOT be allowed. D. The chlorine monitoring system shall be capable of measuring sample flow rate, and have the capability to alarm on loss of sample flow. E. The chlorine monitoring system shall include a constant head flow cell made of acrylic glass with an integral water filter and a regulating needle valve. The flow cell shall include a separate grab sample valve and grab sample outlet to facilitate grab sample readings. Page 2 of 5

3 F. The chlorine monitoring system shall be completely mounted on a PVC back panel, piped, wired and factory tested (wet bench) prior to shipment. Sensors that require assembly are unacceptable. G. The chlorine monitoring system shall feature a self-cleaning 3 electrode system for perfect stability and low maintenance. H. The chlorine monitoring system shall have the capability to measure.01 ppm free chlorine with a +/-.01 ppm accuracy. I. The chlorine monitoring system shall have a response time T90 of 60 seconds. J. The chlorine monitoring transmitter shall include a full three year warranty. K. The manufacturer shall include all necessary replacement parts for 5 years of operation. L. The chlorine monitoring transmitter shall include a full three year warranty. M. The chlorine monitoring system transmitter shall incorporate electronic drift stabilization to eliminate or greatly minimize drift to increase reliability and reduce calibration frequency. N. The chlorine monitor shall incorporate internal data validation to ensure accuracy and reliability. The data validation data shall be available to the end user via Modbus or Profibus communication protocol allowing the end user to integrate the data validation into the SCADA system indicating the status of the parameter value as Good, Uncertain, or Bad. The Trides Free Chlorine analyzer can be wall mounted, mounted in a cabinet, or mounted on channel on a wall or pipe supported. 2. Required Clearances 3. Horizontal: 17 in (432 mm) 4. 5 c. Swan Analytical Company factory trained representative d. Owner s personnel e. Engineer 3.3 Manufacturer s Service and Start-Up A. Contractor will include the manufacturer s services to perform start-up on instrument to include basic operational training and certification of performance of the instrument. B. Contractor will include a manufacturer s Service Agreement that covers all the manufacturer s recommended preventative maintenance, regularly scheduled calibration and any necessary repairs beginning from the time of equipment startup through to end user acceptance / plant turnover and the first 12 months of end-user operation post turnover. C. Items A and B are to be performed by manufacturer s factory-trained service personnel. Field service and factory repair by personnel not employed by the manufacturer is not allowed. D. Use of manufacturer s service parts and reagents is required. Third-party parts and reagents are not approved for use. Page 5 of 5
