Executive Session: moved and seconded that the following resolution be adopted: WHEREAS, as a public board of education may hold an executive session only after a majority of the quorum of this board determines by a roll call vote to hold such a session and only at a regular or special meeting for the sole purpose of the consideration of any of the following matters: A. To consider one or more, as applicable, of the check marked items with respect to a public employee or official: 1. Appointment 2. Employment 3. Dismissal 4. Discipline 5. Promotion 6. Demotion 7. Compensation 8. Investigation of charges/complaints (unless public hearing requested) B. To consider the purchase of property for the public purposes or for the sale of property at competitive bidding. C. Conferences with an attorney for the public body concerning disputes involving the public body that are the subject of pending or imminent court action. D. Preparing for, conducting, or reviewing negotiations or bargaining sessions with public employees concerning their compensation or other terms and conditions of their employment. E. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Buckeye Local School District Board of Education, by a majority of the quorum present at this meeting, does hereby declare its intention to hold an executive session on items: At p.m., the Board went into Executive Session. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 4. MEETING AGENDA STATEMENT This meeting is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District s business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated in the agenda. 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education approve the minutes of the Special Meeting on January 5, 2016, and the Special and Regular Board Meeting on January 19, A motion was made by and seconded by that the Board of Education members approve the minutes as presented. 6. RECOMMENDATION STATEMENT Following are recommendations that have been identified for approval as part of the consent agenda for this meeting. If a Board member wishes to remove any item(s) from this agenda for further discussion prior to taking action, please let either the Superintendent or Board President know. 7. APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education approve the Consent Agenda of February 9, 2016, as presented. 5 8. SUPERINTENDENT S SPECIAL GUESTS A. Buckeye Students of the Month: Buckeye High School: Kalan Inman, Jordan Petrov Buckeye Junior High: Kara Sexton Buckeye Intermediate: Taylor Berger Buckeye Primary: Anna Green B. Blanket Buddies: Cienna Burnheimer, Samantha Ponomarenko and Kaitlin Sluss are three leaders of the group. Their mission is to provide comfort and happiness to those in need by supplying care packages that include toys, stuffed animals and hygiene products. C. Buckeye Military Families Operation Sharing Hearts: Sierra Grubb collected approximately 6,800 items and $4,352 donors. Over 120 card packages are now on their way to our deployed troops. D. Medina County Leadership Ball Peanut Butter Drive: 30 Day Peanut Butter Challenge for Feeding Medina County. February 5-12, Marissa George, Leadership Ball Candidate, is coordinating the Buckeye Local Schools drop off locations and promotion of the event. E. UCLA Medical Internship: Saige Johnson, 10 th grade has been accepted into a two week summer Medical Camp at UCLA to experience various medical procedures. (ie, observe surgeries, neonatal intensive care, etc.). The program will help Saige determine her field of medical study when she attends college. Mr. Koeth submitted a recommendation that accompanied Saige s application. 9. TREASURER S FINANCIAL REPORT A. Treasurer s Report: Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education accept the Treasurer s Report, as presented, including all internal budgets, amended certificates, and appropriations to the County Auditor as on file in the Treasurer s Office. B. Agreement Approval: Resolve the Buckeye Board of Education approve an Institution Trust and Custody Application with US Bank and a Discretionary Investment Management Agreement with Meeder Investment Management. Attachment A. A motion was made by and seconded by that the Board of Education members approve the Treasurer s Financial Report as presented. 10. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION The public is invited to speak to any of the agenda items and other school topics at this time. Comments should be limited to three minutes. Direct questions will not be answered by the Board of Education Members at this time; however answers will be given at a later date as appropriate. 11. SUPERINTENDENT S INFORMATION ITEMS A. Buckeye Elementary Random Acts of Kindness Week February SUPERINTENDENT S RECOMMENDATION ITEMS A. Memorandum of Understanding: Resolve the Buckeye Board of Education approve the College Credit Plus and My University Guarantee Memorandum of Understanding between Lorain County Community College and Buckeye Local Schools. B. Memorandum of Understanding: Resolve the Buckeye Board of Education approve the College Credit Plus Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Akron and Buckeye Local Schools. 1/19/16 Page 5

Agreement Revision with Medina County Service Center: Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education approve a change in the Medina County Service Center Service Agreement to revise SLP hours from 252 to 268 for the school year. D. Agreement Approval: Resolve the Buckeye Board of Education approve the County Service Agreement Between The Educational Service Center of Medina County and Buckeye Local Schools for the school year. Attachment B. E. Approval to Purchase: Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education approve the purchase of 30 Chromebooks and a cart to be used by the Buckeye Primary classes for a total of $10, A motion was made by and seconded by that the Board of Education members approve the motion contained in the Superintendent s Recommendation Items as presented. 13. PERSONNEL A. Certified Personnel: Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education approved the following personnel items as presented: 1. Contract Changes: Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education approve the following contract changes for salary purposes of additional educational credits for the following employees effective January 30, Jacque Nuske Masters to Masters plus 15 Linda Collins Masters to Masters plus Contract Correction: Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education approve the following contract correction for salary purposes of additional educational credits for the follow employee effective September 8, Carla Lemmeyer (Jameson) Bachelors to Bachelors plus Medical Leave of Absence: Resolve the Buckeye Board of Education approve the Medical Leave of Absence for Colleen Obrien from January 20 th and returning approximately February 22, Saturday Detention Monitor: Resolve the Buckeye Board of Education approve the recommendation of any certified employee, interested in working as a Saturday Detention Monitor, be paid at a rate of $14.94 per hour as documented though a time sheet for the remainder of the school year. 5. District Training Reimbursement: Resolve the Buckeye Board of Education approve to pay the following employees $25.00/hr. for participation on the District OIP team not to exceed $200 each for the school year. Continuing Contracts: Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education approve continuing contracts for the following employees: Tanya Mier Treasurer s Assistant effective January 1, Resignation: Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education accept the resignation of Rhonda Schultz, Treasurer s Assistant, effective July 1, 2016 for purposes of retirement. C. Classified Substitute: Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education approve the following classified substitutes to work on an as-needed basis for the school year: Bus Driver Jeanette Emert D. Supplemental Contract Approval: Resolve that the Buckeye Board of Education approve the following Supplemental Contacts pending certifications, as well as resignations, effective for the school year as listed. DONATIONS Resolve the Buckeye Board of Education accept and recognize the following donations to Buckeye Local Schools, as presented. A. Mr. Greg King for his donation of 3 SKLZ D-Man Defensive Mannequins to the Buckeye Athletic Department for use for any school sports group that could use them, including the youth program.
