1 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FROM THE "ADOBE SPARK PAGE - ADVANCED" WEBINAR (July 21, 2016) Q. You mentioned that it is better to create separate Pages if you are trying to show options. Can you add the share link for say the other 2 in the end of one of the pages? (Wendy O.) A. Great idea, Wendy! Yes, that should work fine. So, if you create three separate Pages (one for Resort A, another for Resort B, and a third for Resort C), you can copy the Shareable Links (from the Share screen - remember the Share button at the top of the screen?) for the Pages for Resort B and Resort C, go into the Page for Resort A, and create links (those clickable boxes) for the Shareable Links for Resorts B and C. And, you could do the same with the other Pages. Just remember: If you plan to use these Pages as templates for other clients in the future, you'll want to duplicate each Page and then remove those links from the new copies of the Pages. (Otherwise, those clients in the future will still see those Resort B and Resort C links.) To duplicate a Page, click on the three parallel lines in the top left corner of the Adobe Spark screen, click on the My Projects button to find the Page you wish to duplicate, click the circle with the three side-by-side dots in the upper right corner of the Page, and select Duplicate. Q. You can add multiple images by holding CTRL and click on multiple images... then click upload. (Pat N.) A. This is a great shortcut, Pat! To upload several photos at once from your computer or another source, go to a blank part of the Page and click the circle with teh plus sign inside, and choose "Photo." Then, click the photo source in the column that appears on the right-hand side of the screen (e.g., "Upload photo"). Once you navigate to the photo source (such as a folder on your computer), hold the CTRL key down on a PC or the Command key down on a Mac, click on multiple photo files, and then click Open or Upload to pull those files into your Page all at once! Q. When you do these [Spark Pages], are they visible to everyone? (Kim M.) A. I think it's a best practice to keep these Pages private, Kim, that's very smart! To do that, click the Share button at the top of the screen. If this is the first time you've created a Shareable Link for this Page, you'll see a checkbox option on the Share screen that says "Adobe can feature my project on the Adobe Spark website." (Translation: Your Page might be visible to the public.) Leave that box

2 unchecked - meaning, you're not giving permission for others to see the Page. If you've already created a Shareable Link for this Page, click the button to update the link if you're asked - then, click the "Edit details" link beneath the photo of your Page on the left-hand side of the Share screen; then, follow the directions above about leaving that box unchecked. Q. Looking at AM Resorts the High Res pictures are in a TIF format. How do we get those to a format that Adobe Spark can use? (Mike K.) A. Mike, excellent catch! Y'all may notice when you're uploading photos from your computer or other sources outside Adobe Spark that your primary options are uploading photos that are in.jpg and.png formats. If you have photos in the.tif format in the same folder as your.jpg and.png photos, the.tif photos won't even show up when you click the "Upload photo" button inside Adobe Spark. Mike, you'll have to use photo editing software to change the format from.tif to.jpg or.png - one great free option is Zamzar.com ( - or, go back to the supplier/tourism office that provided the.tif image to request the.jpg or.png file. Q. Once I have a project made and then I want to change one item for another client, do I change the name of the link and resave it? Will that keep my original project and the new project? (Lynda H.) A. Thanks for asking this, Lynda! When you wish to reuse a Page you've created earlier for different clients, here's the safest course to follow in my opinion: make a duplicate of the original Page, and then use the new clients' names when you click on Share later to create the Shareable Link for the new Page. So, first, click on the three parallel lines in the top left corner of the Adobe Spark screen, click on the My Projects button to find the Page you wish to duplicate, click the circle with the three side-by-side dots in the upper right corner of the Page, and select Duplicate. Then, once you see the duplicate copy appear on the screen (typically, it will appear to the left of the original Page), click the circle with the three dots inside the duplicate copy and select Rename. Type in the name for the new Page, and click OK. This renaming step is important, because now you can make any changes to the duplicate copy - then, when you click Share, you'll be prompted to create a new Shareable Link for the duplicate that's different from the Shareable Link for the original Page. Lynda, if you follow these steps, you'll successfully save both copies - the original Page and the new Page. Q. Can an Adobe Spark page be used as a Facebook Advertisement? Also, can it be shared on Facebook? (Piper F.) A. Piper, the second part is easy: You can use the Shareable Link from the Share screen as part of a Facebook post to share the Page with your clients and prospects and fans! But, I'm not aware of any way to "transfer" the Page into

3 Facebook's system directly to use the Page as a Facebook ad (though you can use the Shareable Link as part of the text for your ad, of course). Q. Is is possible to take an old Power Point and adopt/adapt that to Spark? (Sandy D.) A. Hi, Sandy! I don't know any way to take a PowerPoint file (.ppt,.pptx) and "transfer" that directly into a Page. But, of course, you can recycle the individual images and pieces of text that you have on slides within the PowerPoint file as you create a Page - i.e., "cut and paste" or retype the text from slides into sections of the Page, and save the photos on slides onto our computer and then upload them into sections of the Page. Q. Using pictures from our iphones, do you know if they are low or high res? (Cindy C.) A. Cindy, the good news is that today's smartphones have built-in cameras (for both still photos and videos) that are as good or better than most stand-alone cameras. For example, iphones from the 3GS model onward typically take photos at 2048 pixels by 1536 pixels - a pretty high resolution setting. So, go into the settings for your smartphone, check the phone/camera section, and select a higher resolution for photos if the phone isn't already set for that. One caution: Many smartphones will compress photo files when you transfer them off the phone, especially if you them - so, check with your phone provider to learn the best way to take and transfer photos at higher resolutions (1200 pixels or greater on the longer side of each image). Q. Has anyone tried to add the Honeymoon Wishes link through Palace Resorts? I have brides who create this - but it will not allow the link to be something that the guests can click on. (Angie A.) A. Angie, I'll be honest - I'm not familiar with how Honeymoon Wishes generates clickable links for its registries! But, in general, you can use any standard web address or link inside the links for Pages. As long as it starts with or for example, you should be able to insert it into the link inside a Page and it should work. (Of course, if the link goes to a password-protected or non-public page in the end, the link worked OK but the final web page it connects to won't be useful to your clients and their guests. Q. Sometimes you can get the high-res images by using Google and searching images (Beth B.) A. Beth, this is true. My best advice here for finding Google images that are OK for agents to use is going to the Creative Commons search page ( You can type keywords in the "Enter your search query" box at the top of that page; then, click one of the rectangles below

4 to search for images in that source (e.g., Google Images, Wikimedia Commons, Flickr). One tip: Immediately beneath the search box, make sure the two items shown there are checked - "use for commercial purposes" and "modify, adapt, or build upon." (Those checked items ensure that all of the images that you'll find in the search results are approved and ready for you to use the images for business reasons.) Q. Is there a way to preview the page as it would appear on a cell phone? (Sandy D.) A. I'm so glad you asked this question, Sandy, as this tool is a favorite of mine! Go to this "mobile phone emulator" ( When you arrive at this site, you may be asked to specify the size of your computer monitor screen (if you don't know, just select the default measurement that's offered) and click OK). On the emulator site, select the type of smart phone you want to test in the drop-down menu within the "Cell phone terminal" area. Then, in the "Website to emulate" area, type or paste in the Shareable Link from your Page. You'll see a very accurate depiction of what your Page will look like on that type of smartphone! And, you can change the smartphone types in that drop-down menu to check out how your Page looks on different devices. Q. Did you cover "Themes" in the beginner course? (Beth B.) A. Beth, we did talk a bit about Themes in that earlier webinar. Right now, Adobe offers 13 different Page themes, and each theme changes the look of the Page (it's the only real way to control font size, colors, and styles). Best advice? In a new Page, create your cover photo and a second element below it (e.g., add another photo, or put in some text), and then go back to the top and click different themes to see how the look of the Page changes. Q. Can't you use the "link" tool and link to the video instead of using video? (Beth B.) A. Another great tip - thanks, Beth! One challenge with using the Video tool inside a Page is that, when clients click on the video player they'll see when they open your Page, the video player opens in the same web browser window as the Page - and, the only way to get back to the Page once they've watched the video is clicking the faint "X" in the top right-hand corner of the screen. It can be confusing! So, try Beth's tip: Instead of adding a video to your Page using the Video tool, use the Link tool instead, and add the complete web address for the video into the link (use text for the button such as "Watch our video - click here!"). When clients click the button, a new web browser window opens with the video in it - leaving the original web browser window with the Page still open, so it's easy for clients to go back to the Page after they've watched the video.

5 Q. Where do you find the high res. photos? Can you copy from a resort's webpage? (Cindy W.) A. Cindy, the best source for free high-res images that you'll have legal permission to use (in my opinion) is your preferred suppliers and the tourism offices. Check their image galleries for agents, or call/ them and ask for high-res images. Or, use the Creative Commons search tool mentioned above. Plus, don't forget that Adobe has a "Find photos" option when you add a photo - this is an online library with thousands of high-res photos that Adobe has collected for you to use, and you can search by keywords like "beach" or "wedding. Be careful with copying photos from any supplier's web page, though, because (a) those images are probably low-res photos that won't look good in your Page and (b) you can't be sure that you have legal permission to use those images (yes, they're photos sitting on the supplier's site - but, the photographer(s) who took those images may have given the supplier limited rights to use the photos, and those rights don't automatically extend to you as an agent).
