15 Energizing and Innovative Partner 15 RDI Projects of Metropolia Students Live Baltic Campus - Campus Areas as Labs for Participative Urban Designs The project Live Baltic Campus aims at developing campuses as innovation hubs by creating better urban environment for businesses and residents and thus contributing to new job creation in the local economy. The idea is to create a design-based working method for participative urban planning which is adopted by cities as part of their normal work. In practice, the project brings together city planners, government representatives, campus developers and stakeholders to utilize the campuses as labs with an aim to develop plans for better integrated urban management of the Central Baltic region. VitalSens This project develops a novel biomedical remote monitoring platform that is able to adapt to different usage scenarios and therefore enables long-term, continuous use in each step of the nursing chain. The developed technology is wireless, reliable, secure, flexible, comfortable, smart, and easy to configure for individualized needs. The project develops a cost effective, high quality monitoring and intelligent data analytics for connected healthcare applications. This enables the intelligent monitoring of large populations of patients with the same quality of individual care. The Neighborhood Living Room The Neighborhood Living Room studies ways how a museum could build a more dynamic and participatory audience relationship. The vision is that a museum could be integrated as a part of the community and act as a living room for citizens. The methods to be used are based on applied arts, community theatre, applied music education, social media, mobile technology and cultural production. Art based methods will work as a tool for promoting communal spirit between residents and as a driving force for a unique city life based on the original elements of the district. SOHJOA: Physical and virtual innovation platform of autonomous last mile urban transportation Sohjoa is an innovation platform consisting of several projects, with a common aim to enable permanent autonomous operation in public transportation. We address the challenges of new economic growth industries as well as sustainable intelligent transportation development. This is accomplished by bringing autonomous small electric buses to operate in cities as a part of the pilot innovation platforms, created within the innovation umbrella. Our service is open to companies interested in the field of autonomous traffic. The buses, operating the traditionally inefficient and expensive last mile -service, will be integrated as part of the new mobility chains enabled by digitalization. This internationally unique operation system will provide readiness to test and develop intelligent, remotely supervised, autonomous urban traffic, which has not been tested anywhere in the world in this extent yet. Therefore Sohjoa is a major step towards the future especially for Finland. look for more interesting projects:
