3 1 Spherocopter UAS family Spherocopter VTOL UAS family is a quad-rotor layout vertical takeoff and landing unmanned system, especially designed for indoor and outdoor applications including: Industrial plant survey and inspections Micro-mapping indoor (i.e. greenhouses plantation monitoring) Home inside inspection Educational/Training purposes Entertainment and recreational Law enforcement and security indoor UAS pilot training 3 of 8

4 Two version creating the Spherocopter UAS family are sharing the same structural layout, but different avionic system granting modular performances, expandability and prices. Spherocopter base Spherocopter Enhanced The Spherocopter UAVs are made with a full carbon central and full carbon enclose structure body and some aluminum-machined parts. There is a version made in polycarbonate. Carbon frame shows exceptional rigidity, low weight and a very good modularity for great serviceability. The Plexiglas frame give an extended elasticity and a low weight. The propulsion system is based on a quad rotor layout tuned in X configuration ensuring an unobstructed field of view for the camera during translated flight. All Spherocopter UAV versions are equipped with high quality components especially designed to be used on small-unmanned vehicle, ensuring long and trouble-free operation. 6 1.2 Flying and Rolling Besides normal UAV rotary wing typical functions, Spherocopter owns original characteristics: 1. It is able to fly and to roll on the ground or inside a piping, it will allow Spherocopter to move inside small or busy scenarios as a ground and flying vehicles 2. The enclose protects the propellers from accidental injury or damages (for the Spherocopter itself and for things or people) 3. The rolling mode allow the endurance increasing of about 5 times(**). 4. The Enclose protects the UAV from any EMC influence since that can work as faraday grid. 5. The Spherocopter can take off and land in any attitude. 1.3 Flying for micro aero mapping Micro Aero mapping mission requires specific performances in order to guarantee best result when all images are post processed into a single geo-tagged mosaic. Each time an image is taken, the UAV position and attitude needs to be logged: a specific feature of the autopilot installed in Spherocopter is capable of recording this set of data. This is not the case of Spherocopter Trend where the camera is mounted on a tiltable frame not granting the necessary accuracy for precise image geo-tagging. The camera needs to be installed in a calibrated bay inside the south polar cap, in order to guarantee that its optical axis will be perfectly perpendicular to ground during flight. 6 of 8

Standard duration is measured in hovering flight, out of ground effect, with standard payload. 2 Maximum duration is the maximum theoretical duration of the battery without safety margin.
