3 MISSION STATEMENT: Seeking to put God s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Through the use of volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, homes are sold to the homeowners with an interest-free or low interest mortgage and monthly payments set at no more than 30% of the homeowner s gross income, making homeownership an affordable reality. We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin. BASIC REQUIREMENTS You must have lived or worked in Lee or Hendry County for the past 12 months You must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident If married, you must apply with your spouse You must wait 3 years after foreclosure or bankruptcy has been finalized Note: Income information subject to change.
