3 The José Maria Cervelló Chair The first IE Law School Chair was created in homage to José María Cervelló, founder of law programs at IE Law School and an exceptional professor, state attorney and pioneer in the development of international lawyering in Spain. The José María Cervelló Chair promotes the diffusion of knowledge in the field of law, runs research projects, promotes dialogue on current legal affairs among law professionals, and sponsors scholarships. 4 José María Cervelló Scholarships The José Maria Cervelló Chair will sponsor fellowships on an annual basis for law graduates who wish to undertake the following programs at IE Law School: Master en Asesoría Jurídica de Empresas (program taught in Spanish) (LL.M.), Master en Asesoría Fiscal de Empresas (program taught in Spanish) (LL.M.), or the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Legal Practice (program taught in English or in English and Spanish). The scholarships are open to law graduates worldwide and will be awarded in accordance with the academic and humanistic merits of applicants and their economic circumstances. The aim is to enable access to IE law programs for young lawyers with a marked potential and a vocation for service to society. Description The scholarships will cover between 50% and 100% of the total fees of the September/October 2008 or February 2009 intake of the selected program. There may be an additional amount awarded to help with living expenses for students who are not residents in Madrid. Requirements Law degree with outstanding academic results Admission to one of the following IE Law School programs: Master en Asesoría Jurídica de Empresas (LL.M.), Master en Asesoría Fiscal de Empresas (LL.M.), or the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Legal Practice.

5 Application Candidates should send the following documentation to the admissions department of IE Law School by June 10, 2008, for the attention of Camila Uribe. A description of the candidate, including how he/she fulfils the scholarship requirements and the reasons he/she considers him/herself to be the ideal candidate for the scholarship. Letter of Admission to IE Law School for one of the following programs: Master en Asesoría Jurídica (Master in legal Practice)(LL.M.), Master en Asesoría Fiscal (LL.M.) (Master in Corporate Tax), or the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Legal Practice. Two letters of recommendation by people in an academic or professional environments who can testify to your worth as a candidate for the scholarship. Statement of income for the previous year. Students with no income in the previous year will be required to present a statement of income for the head of their family. In order to obtain the scholarship candidates must have successfully completed the admissions process for an IE Law School program, by submitting the application for a place on the program and undergoing all stages of the admissions process, including an interview. Candidate Selection The Scholarship Committee will base their decision on whether or not a candidate should receive the José María Cervelló Chair scholarship on the extent to which his/her profile fits the selected program, academic records, and his/her financial position.
