PRODUCT PRESENTATION Visel Q-Retail 3 is the third generation of classic queuing system be able to manage, through a standalone device, the turn ticket and any type of multimedia content streaming like as digital signage. 4 2. FIRST INSTALLATION The system core is the mini-pc with Android OS. It has many I/O ports: 3 x USB, HDMI, one audio digital OPTICAL output and a Gigabit ETHERNET connector. Fig. 2 The first installation step is plug QS-RETAILBOX to your monitor with HDMI cable and plug-in the power supply. Configure for LAN connection Q-Retail works better if connected to Internet, possibly by LAN cable. It is preconfigured for obtain automatically an IP address (DHCP is enabled). If you need to configure Q-Retail with manually ip, please follow these simple steps: 1. Plug an usb mouse in an USB port 2. Right click to close Q-Retail app 3. Go to Android settings 4. Select Other from left, then Ethernet and finally Advanced configuration 5. Unselect DHCP and setup your LAN parameters Configure for WiFi connection Is also possible to connect Q-Retail via WiFi. Follow previous steps up to point 3 and then: 4. Enable WiFi if not enabled 5. Select your WiFi name, enter the correct password and wait until the device is connected.

5 3. CONFIGURATION Q-Retail 3 configuration is very simple by the Q-Discovery tool. Q-Discovery is included with one CD in the package or you can download from web here: After the installation on a PC connected under the same subnet mask of Q-Retail LAN, run it through the link on your Desktop. To start Q-Retail configuration click on Search devices.... Q-Discovery will search Q-Retail and will show it on the found devices list. Fig. 3

6 In the case of the automatic search does not produce results, you can search for a product via its IP address by clicking the Find by IP... : a secondary window will ask you to enter a network address (Fig. 4) Actions on the device Fig. 4 Select the device from list and press one of these buttons: Identify An utility to know on which device you are working. After you click this button will appear on the device monitor an information message with device name and firmware version. Reboot System Click this button to reboot device. Activate All our devices are pre-activated by default. In other case, if your device request an activation you will need an activation key to paste into the window will appear after click this button. Settings Is used to manage device settings.

8 Custom logo and its position Set your custom logo and its position: top-left, bottom-left or bottom-right. Supported formats are: JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF. Operating mode - Monoservice or Multiservice In this section you can choose the queue server operating mode. Q-Retail can manage up to two queues with one QS-KEYPAD. If you need two services is enough to check the second box and setup the service name. Optionally, you can choose also the color of both services, to differentiate the flow and help your incoming users. Numero digit In alcuni casi è utile estendere il conteggio da 000 a 999. Digital signage elements The digital signage elements manager (Playbox) is improved in this firmware version. You will be able to manage each file like as TV direction. Remove a file from playlist. Adds a streaming flow by URL. Move up an element. Move down an element. Duplicate the element in playlist. Manage the element properties Each element, after is added to playlist, has some customizable properties. To change its, make a double-click on desidered element:

Time to live Set the element s live time. sometimes this control is disable, for example for audio and video files with which Q-Retail will be able to calculate the duration. Volume Set the element s volume. This control is disable for image files. Weather e Feeds How we told before, Q-Retail shows informations on weather forecasts and rss feeds. City for forecasts Click on below box and select your favorite city: Fig. 8

10 Enter the name of your city and press ENTER or click on Search.... Select the correct city and press Choose. If the search process will fail, search on a web search engine (like as Google) your city s WOEID. Feeds managements Click on box below and manage your feeds that will appear on the bottom of monitor: How the Fig.9 shows, is possible to add, move, edit and remove text messages or RSS sources. If you add a text message, it will slide from right to left with yellow color. Otherwise, if you add an RSS source, Q-Retail will get all titles and will show its one after the other with white color. The showing order is the same of the configuration: in this example Q-Retail will show the text Ultim ora dalla pagina di ANSA and then all titles of ansa rss feed. To confirm click on Save. Fig. 9 Vocal assistant Q-Retail implements an internal Text-to-speech engine. In this new version it can manage the volumes of media player to prevent any possible waveform overlap. Enable the pronunciation of incoming calls and voice messages By checking this box you enable the Vocal Assistant. Message before turn Before the pronunciation of turn number you can add additional speaking text. Message after turn After the pronunciation of turn number you can add additional speaking text. Voice messages Is also improved the management of voice messages. Is possible to create a special playlist of voice messages and change its delay time.

11 Interval Set the delay time between voice messages. Voice messages management Click on box below and edit your voice messages playlist: Fig. 10 Similary how it appens in feed management, the Fig. 10 shows a similar window with voice messages management. Each row represents one message that will be speaked from Text-to-speech engine. 4. USAGE WITH QS-KEYPAD The basic instrument to use Q-Retail is QS-KEYPAD. Following you learn how to use this pad to manage turn numbering: Fn Led / battery status Fn Not used S1/S2 Enable service 1 or service 2 Fn S 1 S 2 C 1 C1/C2 Reset counter of service 1 or 2 Call the previous number C V Call a specific number R + V Call the next number Recall the current number 7 R USB Receiver Wireless Receiver for QS-KEYPAD. Is possible to plug more QS-KEYPADs to Q-Retail through a simple USB port hub.

12 5. USAGE WITH RETAIL CONSOLE The advanced instrument to manage Q-Retail is Retail Console. It s provided with the Software Disc inside the package. Install the console with RetailConsole.msi file. After the installation will be complete, run the application from created link on desktop: Basic functions Make a call to next turn Make a call to back turn Make a recall to current turn Secondary fuctions Exit from application Change the actual service, if Q-Retail is configured on Multiservice Open settings window Call specific turn

13 6. TROUBLESHOOTING There were no particular problems related to this product. Below we provide the quick answers to some situations that do not allow proper operation. Why after searching devices, including via IP, the product is not detected? We found problems with some routers / modems provided by Telecom which do not allow the passage of information on some of the ports used by our products. However, the vast majority of the time is a problem related to the fact that the device is not properly connected to the LAN. Then check the connection by following the steps that are found in Ch. 2 - First installation. The product behaves abnormally and does not seem to respond to input. What can I do? Generally the problem is solved by restarting the application via Q-Discovery by clicking the Reboot System. The product starts and shows the following message Q-Retail has terminated abnormally. It is likely that in the setup operations there may be a network error and damaged inside the settings file. If so follow these simple steps: 1. Connect a mouse in one of the two USB ports 2. Right-click in the center of the screen to close the application 3. Go to the main menu and select the application File Manager 4. Go to the device memory and go to the folder visel 5. Copy the file settings.xml clicking and holding the left mouse button the filename. This will open a popup with some things you can do: select Copy. 6. Getting to the folder of your USB stick, hold the left mouse button on any file and select Paste. 7. Pull the pen drive and send the file settings.xml to sviluppo@visel.it providing your telephone number to be contacted. For malfunctions not listed in this manual, please contact our Customer Care.
