In this second edition we are delighted to update you about the project development and activities realized during the first project year. 2 SPREADING THE COSQUILLAS METHODOLOGY- THEATRICAL WORKSHOP TO AVOID THE RISK OF DROP OUT IN IVET The Cosquillas theatre uses drama activity as a tool for personal growth fostering the acquisition of educational aims, especially in term of key and life skills. Personal training lasts throughout life and requires adaptability, flexibility and continuous updating of knowledge. Each person working in a theater group is responsible for his/her growth but also for the growth of the group itself. The main steps that contribute to develop the Cosquillas methodology start from the theatrical activities as experience of feelings, sensations, taught and self-recognition. Educational and vocational knowledge is integrated in the project in a second time. Educational contents are strictly related and integrated with the compulsory skills and knowledge the students shall acquire in their curricula. The 5 steps of the Cosquillas methodologies are the following. Each of them has specific purposes and pedagogical aims. Thanks to the contribution of the Consortium of partners, the initial description of the methodology has been improved and enhanced. You can consult the re-newed version of the Good practice here: It can be useful if you want to better understand how the methodology works and how to implement it. 2

3 THE IMPLEMENTATION PLANS Each partner also realized an operational planning of the transfer of the good practice in their territory, thanks to the involvement and cooperation of local stakeholders. Partners contacted and created networks with other organisations wanting to cooperate with them in testing the theatrical experience as part of an IVET course, supporting teachers and IVET providers in improving their educational methodologies, involving decision makers, social services and other organisations in reducing the number of drop out through this method. The Italian, Turkish, Polish, German and Irish implementation plans were then compared in a benchmarking perspective are a shared implementation plan was arranged. The shared implementation plan shall be considered as a common guide supporting implementation activity as it arises from the information and the decisions partners realised to let the good practice work in their territories You can consult the Implementations plans here PARTNERSHIP MEETINGS Partners met two times after the kick off meeting, one in Istanbul (Turkey), hosted by the Bogazici University in June 2014 and one in Bad Boll (Germany), hosted by the Evangelishe Akademie in September During both meetings, stakeholders have been actively involved in directly testing the 5 Steps of the Cosquillas methodology, to deepen the comprehension and how it works on students. 3

5 TRAINING THE OPERATORS INVOLVED IN THE THEATRICAL METHODOLOGIES During October and November 2014, partners realised training sessions involving operators and trainers interested in implementing the theatrical methodologies in education and IVET courses, during the training activities partners explained and showed the project purposed, the Cosquillas methodology, the possible target groups, the aims and objectives that could be reached in term of motivation to study, selfconfidence and acquisition of key, transversal and vocational skills. Also the possible integration between the theatrical activities and ICT/Multimedia contents and vocational attainment had been stressed. PILOT EXPERIENCES Partners are now organizing pilot experiences in their territories directly implementing the theatrical methodology and in some cases the ICT/multimedia activities. Activities are going to directly involve: Young students attending IVET curricula and learning paths but experiencing difficulties and problems in achieving the learning and educational goals Young students that have to choose their further learning pathways but have experienced difficulties in actual or former education levels Young people attending special programmes in IVET specifically addressed to those who have or would have too many difficulties in following mainstream education/training Disabled young people experiencing difficulties in acquiring educational mainstream or vocational attainments, attending special vocational and training programmes and in need of further support and guidance The pilot experiences are going to End in April/May

6 NEXT ACTIVITIES Third partnership meeting in Poland, on the 21st and 22nd of April During the meeting partners will share the results of the ongoing pilot experiences and fixed future steps Creation and sharing of ICT/Multimedia products created during the pilot experiences Arrangement, thanks to the German partner Evangelishe Akademie Bad Boll, of a DVD explaining the 5 steps of the Cosquillas methodology through videos and images realized during the partnership meeting and pilot experiences Each partner is going to organize a round table to share the outcomes of the pilot experiences with stakeholders and identify further exploitation of the good practice Each partner is going to describe the outcomes of the pilot experiences in a report. The 5 reports are going to be compared Thanks to comparison of results and outcomes, a final and validated version of the good practice will be realized and published Final conference on the 16th- 17th September 2015 in Ferrara (Italy) To be informed about the project development, read our timeline 6
