12 UK Feed in Tariff (FIT) Feed in Tariff (FIT) is an enhanced payment made for generating electricity from Renewable Technologies. The FIT, which is known as the clean energy cash-back scheme, rewards households and businesses with a payment for every kwh of electricity generated by PV technology. The Tariff varies, depending on the size of the installation. The money to support the FIT comes from a small extra charged on all kwh units sold, (less than 2%).

13 Important Points Launched in April 1 st 2010 You do not need be the Building Owner to claim Generation Tariff Any electricity not used and exported receives a further 3p/kWh or could be more depending on Utility offer! Once you start, you get the Tariff, index linked, for 25 years Export Tariff also index linked Installers have to be MCS Certified for systems up to 50kWp so that the FIT can be claimed. Administered by Ofgem, paid by the Utility
