All MNAs must provide an official contact person from the Federation who will be responsible for all entries from that country. Entries should be sent by fax or . Closing date is 25 th of October The tournament will start at hrs on Friday, 8 th November and all participants must be at the venue at this time. The courts for practice session will be available at Kahuna 10:00am-12:00am on 8 th November. The Polish Junior Open is part of the European Junior Circuit. The event complies with the ESF Junior Circuit Guidelines, a copy of which is available on the ESF website ; all participating MNAs should make sure that all relevant people (including coaches, managers and players) are aware of the Guidelines and their requirements. 2 DATES The tournament will commence on Friday, 8 th November 2013 at hrs. All participants must be at the venue for this time. VENUE Kahuna squash&badminton, Zawodzie 26, Warsaw, CATEGORIES B U19 max. 32 players G U19 max. 32 players B U17 max. 32 players G U17 max. 32 players B U15 max. 32 players G U15 max. 32 players B U13 max. 32 players G U13 max. 32 players B U11 max. 32 players G U11 max. 32 players Players are allowed to enter only ONE category. ELIGIBILITY The Polish Junior Open is open to all players under the age of U11, U13, U15, U17 or U19 (U11 is not an ESF ranking category) on the 10 th November SEEDING The seeding will be carried out using the ESF Junior Rankings valid at the closing date and in accordance with ESF Junior Circuit Guidelines. MATCHES All matches will be played as best of five games (PAR 11), under the rules of the WSF. All players are guaranteed three scheduled matches. REFEREEING All players will be expected to mark and referee matches. BALL The Dunlop Pro ball will be used. 2

3 PRIZES There will be prize money in the U19 Boys / Girls categories. Trophies will be awarded in all categories. EYE GUARDS According to ESF rules, all junior players must wear approved Eye Guards when entering a court and competing during the event. Players will not be allowed to compete without approved eye protection and checks may be made. SEEDING The seeding will be carried out using the ESF Junior Rankings valid at the closing date and in accordance with the ESF Junior Circuit Guidelines. INSURANCE Players enter and play in the tournament at their own risk. Neither the organisers nor the ESF accept any responsibility for injury arising from participating in the event. Players must arrange their own insurance. DRUGS The ESF and the Host Association reserve the right to implement compulsory dope testing for any player participating in the Junior Open. The named responsible person must be an official representative of the association and will be responsible for all entries from that country. The organisation is allowed to restrict entries according to ESF guidelines. 3

CANCELLATIONS The costs for hotel packages cannot be refunded for any cancellations received on or after 25 th October. For cancellations between the 25 th October to 5 th November, only a 50% refund will be made (less all bank charges). WITHDRAWALS / ESF PENALTIES 1. Following a withdrawal, fees should be reimbursed as follows: Withdrawal up to 14 days before the start date of a tournament: fees reimbursed in full (less bank charges). Withdrawal 3-14 days before the start date of a tournament: 50% of fees reimbursed (less bank charges). Withdrawal 2 days or less before the start date of a tournament: reimbursement at the discretion of the tournament organiser. 2. a) If a player makes a late withdrawal from a tournament (2 days or less before the start date), a doctor s certificate confirming injury/illness must be provided to avoid penalties. The medical certificate (with a translation in English) must clearly state the player s name, date of birth and the nature of the illness/injury; the certificate must cover the date of the relevant tournament and must be sent to the ESF office no later than two days after the final day of the tournament ( esf@europeansquash.com; fax ). Any player making a late withdrawal not supported by a medical certificate will receive zero points for the tournament which will count as one of their 4 best results for the rolling 12 month period and will be taken into account when dividing the points to obtain the ranking average. This penalty will be applied automatically unless the ESF office receives a doctor s certificate within two days of the tournament finishing. If a player commits this offence for a second time within a 12 month period, he/she will be banned from the ESF Junior Circuit for a period of 12 months. 7

8 b) If a player has entered a tournament and fails to turn up, he/she will receive zero ranking points for the tournament. These zero points will count as one of the player s 4 best results for the rolling 12 month period and will be taken into account when dividing the points to obtain the ranking average. This penalty will be applied automatically. If a player commits this offence for a second time within a 12 month period, he/she will be banned from the ESF Junior Circuit for a period of 12 months. c) If a player fails to play out all scheduled matches for any reason other than illness or injury, he/she will receive zero ranking points for the tournament. Illness or injury must be verified by the tournament director and, if possible, by medical certificate sent to the ESF office within two days of the tournament finishing. If zero points are awarded, the points will count as one of the player s 4 best results for the rolling 12 month period and will be taken into account when dividing the points to obtain the ranking average. This penalty will be applied automatically. If a player commits this offence for a second time within a 12 month period, he/she will be banned from the ESF Junior Circuit for a period of 12 months. TRANSPORT The transportation from / to the Warsaw Airport is included in the package fees. The flight schedule should be informed at the latest on the 2 nd November to s.nowisz@kahuna.com.pl by . The official Hotel is the Warsaw Apartments, in walking distance from the club and 25 minutes drive from the airport. Please note that the transportation service is only available to those players who have bought a Hotel Package. 8
