The Brookhaven Roe YMCA Center and the Patchogue Family YMCA are ready and excited for our best summer yet! This will be our 36th camping season and we are so happy to offer new additions to our fun-filled program. Our camp is proud to be accredited by the American Camping Association. SATURDAY OPEN HOUSES (HOLTSVILLE LOCATION ONLY) Bring the family! Come and meet our Director and Camp Staff. Take a tour of our Youth Camp, Pre-Teen Adventure Camp, and our Too Cool for Camp campgrounds and we ll be happy to answer any of your questions. This amount is not subject to our discount. All remaining camp and extended care balances must be paid in full three weeks prior to the start of each session in order to retain your camp reservation. Balances not paid by due date will be subject to a late fee of $10. Each child must have a Program Membership. Renewals are done at the time of registration. This $75 fee is not included in the camp fee. 3 REGISTRATION DISCOUNTS *SUPER EARLY REGISTRATION PAID IN FULL DISCOUNT* Pay in full upon registration by March 31st and receive 10% off on all Full Day programs. 2nd Child (Sibling) Discount - 2nd Child Discount will be $50 applied to second child from the same family during the same camp session on all 5 full day full session options. $25 will be applied for all 3 day full session options. All discounts apply to Full Day Programs Only. Discount/coupon cannot be combined with any other discounts or offers. CAMP FLEX OPTIONS: Need 1 Week Here? 2 Weeks There? At the Y, we offer 3-week session blocks because we find that consistency helps kids form friendships, advance their swim skills, and experience everything our Summer Day Camps have to offer. That said, we know how busy families can be during the summer and if you need more flexibility, we re here to help. If you d like to purchase summer camp weeks a la carte, just come in and let us know which weeks work for your family. Please be aware that to take advantage of flexible scheduling, you must register in person. Space may be limited. Flexible scheduling is offered based on camp capacity: children who are part of our 3-week sessions have priority on all off-campus trips. Restrictions that may apply: Discounts not applicable Flex-fare available for 5 days a week programs only Trips may be missed Flex Fare rates will not be adjusted for new/additional registrations. CAN T DO THE FULL 3 WEEKS? We have Flexibility: 1 week and 2 week options FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Financial assistance is awarded based on financial need. Financial assistance applications must be received no later than April 15th for consideration. Applications will be reviewed on an individual basis by the financial assistance committee. Applications received after the deadline will be reviewed as funds become available. Financial assistance does not guarantee a camp spot; you MUST register and leave a deposit to ensure a spot. If you would like to make a donation to Send A Kid To Camp please speak with a member services representative. REFUND POLICY Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Changes of sessions must be requested in writing, and require a $15 change fee and are subject to availability. Missed days will not be prorated. Consideration may be given for medical situations. Requests must be in writing accompanied by a doctor s note and constitute a minimum of 5 consecutive missed days and is at the discretion of the Associate Executive Director. The YMCA reserves the right to suspend or remove a child from camp please see camp contract for additional information. Refunds will not be given wherein this decision is necessary. NEW FOR 2016! FULL DAY CAMPERS SWIM EVERY DAY! (Half Day & Full Day) (3-5 years) For more information, contact Samantha Pavelchak, Kiddie Camp Director ext. 855 Samantha.Pavelchak@ymcali.org *New Activities and Adventures coming to Kiddie Camp this summer!* All children must be toilet-trained to attend Kiddie Camp. *All Kiddie Campers must be 3 before their session begins.* Kiddie Camp Hours: Half Day: 9:00am 12:00pm Full Day: 9:00am 4:00pm One of our most successful programs for pre-kindergarten children, this unique experience is now available to children for both half days and full days of our three week session. Kiddie Camp is designed to provide physical and emotional growth and socialization through fun-filled early childhood learning. Campers use the air-conditioned indoor facilities of the Y preschool as well as gymnasium, outdoor playground, and outdoor field area. (Please note: the following activities apply to Kiddie campers attending 5 full days. Activities may be altered for our part-time campers.) Activities include swimming lessons (full day only), special events, arts and crafts, music, movement, gym time, dance, playground activities, special theme days, and much, much more. 5 YOUTH CAMP [Holtsville] (Completed Grades K 4) All New Activities and Adventures Coming this Summer! Our YMCA Youth Camp encourages campers to have fun while participating in activities that develop creativity, independence, and a sense of teamwork. Youth Camp activities can include our HIGH AND LOW ROPES CHALLENGE COURSE, Pedal Go-Karts, arts & crafts, volleyball, Ga-Ga, yard games, basketball, soccer, exciting games, theme days, water slide, carnival, Olympics, dance, swimming and of course TONS OF FUN! Visiting specials include our game show, Illusionist show, and CAMPLIFIED; a full day of musical performances from up and coming pop music stars! A pizza lunch will be included every Wednesday. Campers will also be taking daily trips to the Patchogue YMCA. Every day is a brand new adventure at the Patchogue Roe Y Summer Camp with a calendar full of new and exciting THEME DAYS! Swimming is emphasized in our camp. Our goal is to encourage every child to learn to swim in an enjoyable manner. Swimming instruction as well as recreational swim is included in your child s daily camp schedule. All lessons are taught by certified instructors. Campers are tested on the first day and grouped by age and skill level. All children are required to take lessons unless exempt for medical reasons with a doctor s note. PRE-TEEN ADVENTURES [Holtsville] NEW FOR 2016-MORE TRIPS! (Campers who have completed 5th Grade) Pre-Teen Adventure Camp has been created to evolve with today s older children and their interests. While Pre-Teen Adventures mirrors a similar programming schedule as our Youth Camp, pre-teen campers will also be taking at least three trips per session as well as going to our Patchogue facility for some adventures. Exciting activities include the activities listed above in our youth camp program and school trips make Pre-Teen Adventure Camp the coolest place to have fun this summer! TOO COOL FOR CAMP [Holtsville] New for 2016-MORE TRIPS-2 TRIPS / WEEK! (Completed Grades 6 8) Looking for a fun way to spend your summer? Patchogue Roe YMCA Too Cool for Camp is the place to be this summer! Our Too Cool for Camp Program is designed to develop decision-making skills in young teens by encouraging positive values and providing challenging, fun, and character-building experiences

6 Designed for the middle school camper, campers have the opportunity to participate in activities such as athletics, crafts, fitness, games, swimming, and team building exercises utilizing our high and low ropes challenge courses. The best part of being In Too Cool are the trips! Now, in 2016, we are offering MORE TRIPS! Too Cool for Camp follows an extensive travel schedule and will go on multiple trips each session which may include Paintball, Adventureland, Fire Island, Professional Sporting Events, Captree Boat Fishing and many other exciting excursions. All trips are subject to change depending on availability and weather. Imagination Station and Camp Readers at the Patchogue / Roe YMCA the FUN way the Y builds literacy skills. The YMCA Imagination Station is an integral component of YMCA summer day camp and helps children prevent the summer slide, the time period where students tend to fall back in reading and comprehension during summer months. This can be a result of not reading or having exposure to literacy for three months. Each week, children are encouraged to use their imaginations to act out, draw or even cook what they have read. Thanks to the support of the Rauch Foundation the YMCA provides certified specialists who use an interactive and engaging curriculum created by our Literacy Cabinet for the camp season. This program allows our Kiddie Campers as well as our Kindergarten through 2nd graders to have fun and learn with Imagination Station! Children are assessed at the start of camp and at the end of camp and are monitored throughout the program to see their progress. Imagination Station combines learning and summer fun; it will be an experience your child won t forget! This program is made possible by the generous support of the Rauch Foundation. Our Camp Readers program allows our Youth, Pre-Teen, and Too Cool Campers to build their reading and reading comprehension skills throughout the summer. Each camper reads either individually or with his or her group of peers for a total of 30 minutes a day. Campers may bring their own book in or choose from our Camp Library which offers a variety of subjects and interests at each camper s individual reading level. Camp and Reading allows for each child to continue their love of reading in a fun and exciting day camp environment

7 COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT) PROGRAM [Holtsville] (Completed Grades 8 9) If you are interested in being a camp counselor someday, this is an opportunity you don t want to miss! The CIT Program is an advanced program for year olds who have attended our summer camp for at least one summer. The Counselors in Training program combines the fun of camp with leadership and on the job training skills. CIT s assist counselors and specialists with camp groups as well as learn important job skills that will enable them to become successful in life. Each CIT will have the opportunity to facilitate an activity for younger campers. CIT candidates must submit an application by May 15th, have a letter of recommendation from one of the candidate s teachers sent directly to the Patchogue YMCA, and will be subject to an interview by our Director. Each CIT candidate will receive a phone call by May 30th to schedule an interview. *Program enrollment is extremely limited.* Patchogue/Roe YMCA Summer Day Camp
